Yes a big gratitude to Mexico allowing so many to be able to live a good life and for sharing it with us. ❤
Thank you for your awesome view on American immigration to your country!
I love living Mexico so much! It’s made me so much more grateful for life. I am actively learning Spanish. I see it as a respect thing. So you are right ❤
Wow. Thanks. I would love to also live in your country. It’s so beautiful. The people that I have met so friendly and amazing! Mexico gets a bad rap but , I think the United States is a lot more dangerous!
Moving my stuff in a car across the border? Working in Mexico (speech language pathologist)?
Mexico is like heaven . I love their foods , their country , their culture n the peoples . It the media that make them look bad but really one of the nicest peoples and the hardest workers I ever meet . Seriously , we should look into doing business that can benefits both sides in their as they have a lot to offer
Love tis lady! I love that she followed her dream of moving to Mexico. You are obviously a strong independent woman to this on your own. Good for you!
She’s truly an inspiration- if you want something you can go get it
I admire you and what you have done for yourself! You gave us a lot of Good advice! Thank you and God Bless! The only thing that holds me back is my health problems; also my age; I am 76 and am a diabetic but controlled by diet, meds. and exercise. I have Good medical insurance and can do as you did . 🙏🙏🙏
@@MexicoRelocationGuide She is giving back to local community which is what all should do.

I just listened to Mariana interview life & health insurance agents 16:46 Medicare works if you are in the states. However, if you have a heart attack or a serious injury while in Mexico, it’s recommended that you have a nice nest egg that you can draw from in the event you have to go to the Mexico Hospitals. They want a deposit or no treatment & payment in full once you are released. $25k & up was mentioned.
I've been living at Playas de Tijuana just over the border from San Diego for nearly 5 years. It's another world despite being just over the border and a charming little town.. Now I'm thinking of moving deeper in Mexico and hearing Molly's story helps. She certainly lives very well and pays for it. $1500 a month is top dollar but then Playa del Carmen has a very upscale reputation. Thanks for sharing your story.
Hi Mr Donald, are you planning to move out of Playas de Tijuana? I am thinking about moving there form northern of California because of the cold season. Is Playas de Tijuana too cold in the winter? I am looking to live away from the cold. Thanks
You live in Tijuana!? 😬 Why would you do that yourself!? 😩
K
@@Mmmkay10 he lives in Playa de Tijuana, much different... it is on the beach to the west and outside of Tijuana proper. I live just down the coast from there in another beach town called Rosarito. Many Americans are moving to that area from California because comparatively speaking it is super cheap but still close enough proximity to the border that you get the same weather as San Diego.
California's repressive laws, crumbling infrastructure, high taxes and cost of living make it unaffordable for most people these days, and so moving just across the border makes sense. For example, I live in Rosarito in a beachfront property that would cost millions of dollars in the U.S. But I only pay $1500 USD a month for rent and my condo is a fully furnished three bedroom, two bath 2000 sq/ft unit with an unparalleled view of the ocean... the swimming pool is literally on the beach and I can see San Diego from my balcony.
There’s a difference between Yucatán where Playa del Carmen is and Playas Tijuana which is Baja. I love the Yucatán, went 15 years ago for the first time but now it’s pretty crowded. When I spent time all over the Baja Peninsula (i used to live in So. California), the Baja was seen as more like Alaska to Mexicans. In other words, it’s more remote, rugged. My ex used to go motorcross racing there. Playa del Carmen to me is very touristy, be very careful about buying real estate there. Not all properties are built with gringo standards in mind…not that they should, but don’t complain about stinky bathrooms because the sinks were not installed with P-traps. I would take this video with a grain of salt. Visit not just 1 to 3 months before buying but visit during different times of the year.
Mexico is such a beautiful country ! I love their beaches , foods, their culture ..
Yea if you close your eyes into a lot bad things too
@@romabatalaThere are bad things everywhere these days.
She is awesome! Love these single ladies just doing their thing! No fear and living her best life 🎉
In my family the chant is "WHOOOOOOAAAAAA WOMEN!!!!!"
What a charming, positive person. Congratulations on following your dream and moving to a beautiful beach area. You took the plunge and now you are contributing to your new community by volunteering and supporting small local businesses. All the best to you ❤
Glad you enjoyed Molly’s story
Sadly it does not work out so well for many. Just in the past week, 3 women disappeared and 4 other people were kidnapped and 2 found dead. Drugs cartels are responsible.
Annie, quite a lot has changed for you since you posted this reply. Hope you're happy and doing great! Desde Ensenada!
@@davidsebastianelli1326 hello David. I hope the changes are all for the best in Ensenada. Life goes on here in historic Mazatlán. Since I moved 11 months ago I have enjoyed Holy Week, Moto Week, music festivals, wonderful sunsets and Carnaval. I really enjoy living in Centro where I can walk to everything and do not miss having a car. The building is over 125 years old and I have dealt with roof leaks, termites and mildew… I was away in Québec visiting my family for 7 weeks of the super humid summer which helped. Coming from Tucson I prefer the dry heat. Wishing you continued happiness in Mexico 🤗
Very informative video. My wife and I are planning to do exactly what Molly is doing. This video has helped us confirm that we are doing the right thing. Thank you Molly!
I enjoyed watching this video. This lady sure did the right thing by following her dreams.
Congratulations and all the best to you. 🤗
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for sharing such an inspirational story. I am almost 50 but would like to retire young so yor story gives me hope. Hearing you talk about maintaining a big house with a large lot really hit home for me . This is supposed to be the American dream but it's really not.
We live just around the same area. 30 min north from Philly. I totally understand her. Been to Playa, Cancun, drove to Merida and went to other towns around, I am more than ready to move down for good.
The book club is a absolutely great social idea. sharing what you do in Mexico is making me feel part of your social club.
How amazing of you to spend time telling us in great detail all that you did. Thank you
I totally agree with you, on living in Mexico. Although I'm not into living on the beach, it's proven to be the best move ever. Our cost of living is less than a third of yours.
We live in Morelia, Michoacan. Never over 90° in the summer, and never below 50° in winter.
After living in the Reno/Tahoe area for nearly my whole life, I learned to hate snow, in ANY form.
Nice video!
I live in Bay Area. I go to Tahoe once a year. I love the snow once a year. 😅
I've been living in Mexico for 18 years, the last five years here in Chetumal Quintana Roo. Also in Tijuana, Michoacana and Chiapas. Playa Del Carmen is too big for me and expensive. I will never move back to the United States, I only go there if I have to do something personal or I am there for my seasonal job. Thinking about doing three more seasonal contracts then I am done. Good job Molly take care always be safe
thanks for sharing! Which town has been your favorite so far?
Chetumal because it has 170,000 people, so it's not too big and it's not too small, and every store you can think of in Mexico is here. Plus was soon to have a new Maya train at the end of the year, which is like Amtrak and I hate taking the bus. So it will be great taking the train to the airport in Cancun. Plus 20 minutes away to the border with Belize, everything I want is here that's why I live here
I´m Mexican, living in Playa del Carmen. And $2500 usd/month is a good income to live perfectly well here
Molly lives very very comfortably for sure
You rock . . . lovely lady. Thanks for all the info and it was fun listening to your story
of falling in L-O-V-E with Mexico!
Very nice chat from Molly! I love these videos and she gave a lot of good information. Thanks, Mariana!
You’re very welcome ☺️
So glad you found it to be helpful
I am Canadian we were thinking of spending more time in Mexico when we retire it’s so much cheaper and beautiful
Canada is very expensive to retire in
And the US dollar is expensive for us
So it’s Mexico for us
Thanks for the tips
You will love Mexico!
Heck, the US dollar is expensive for us in the US as well. Inflation is a big problem. Just save up every penny, convert it to pesos and you'll see what all u can buy with it. We spent 6 months down there and when we returned to the US we went broke lol. Jk ... All the money really went down FAST.
Canada is to cold for the winters. Best wishes.
Canada is to cold for the winters. Best wishes.
Yea Canada and the US are to expensive.I never been to Canada. They say its very clean and not much crime. I don’t know if that’s true. Best wishes.
Excellent information! Thank You ! I really admire you Molly! You went for it and it’s worked out lovely for you. Live life to the fullest. I am currently looking for places to live in Mexico but even more now because of all the important information you gave us! 😊☀️🌴🌊
Thanks for telling your story - very honest and positive words. Blessings
Thanks for watching!
Loved this video. You are a great ambassador for Playa del Carmen.
Hello, I’m in my 40s and was raised by 2 native Pennsylvanians in another state and I immediately recognized that Pennsylvania accent when you said “go to the store.” 😅. My Dad calls PA the Old Country. Like yourself, he is done with the cold north winters and now lives where it is VERY sunny. Love seeing PA representing in Mexico. Cheers!
Thanks for sharing your experience....I love traveling to Playa del Carmen, as well as Puerto Vallarta. I am seriously thinking about retiring at one of these destinations. I still have about 4 years before I retire, but these videos are so helpful. All the best to you!
You can do it! Thanks for watching
I’m from Philly too and I’m thinking about moving to Mexico. I will be staying Puerto Vallarta this Spring.
I’m currently in the Philippines. I spent the last 5 months in SE Asia. Malaysia is my favorite [even more than Mexico], but Mexico is so close to the U.S. I miss my family.
There’s nice places in Asia but to far from US. Best wishes.
So impressed with a person that gives so much of herself to friends, students, and dogs who need a home
I absolutely learned something new with your video. I’ve vacationed in Playa, but had no idea that American’s relocated there. Good for you for living your dream! 👍😎🥰
It sure is, and we love it!!
Such a great story and advice sesh, what a wonderfully independent woman! Cheers amiga!
Very informative. Thank you so much.
Great video- agree on using a facilitator! I just went through that process. I too hope to spend more time down there! Your rent is so reasonable. Thanks for sharing all this great information.
Thank you! You too!
Thank you for taking the time to create this video for us. Your overview of retirement life in Playa was helpful as we consider alternatives for post working days living. We love Playa too. May become snowbirds. Ohio is gray in winter. Thank you and blessings for your happiness.

Ohio is to cold for winters. Best wishes.
I love this interview, and this Woman's desire to live in Mexico, but to get a richer and more FULL experience, learn the language, too. I may help everyone. My wife is Mexican and we have been married for 30+ years. I learned Spanglish just to date her, and now we are retiring and moving to Mexico, so now I have to learn Spanish - for real. LOL. I love your volunteer efforts. That's awesome. Great video. Thanks again!
Yay!!! Nice! Where in Mexico are you retiring?
Amazing story!! And courage to make the move. And by yourself at that. Me and wife visit Mexico every year in the playa area. Believe this thought has definitely crossed out minds. We will be retiring in about 6 years. Our pension would go so much farther in Mexico. And we love❤the Caribbean and the colors.
Thank you for sharing your experience, very nice!!
Nice video. Thank you for sharing your experience with us 😊

What a lovely presentation. It looks like you have the courage and drive to relocate to a wonderful Mexican town and you are fulfilling your dream. I’m originally from Philadelphia
currently retired and living
in Cape May. I moved here from Annapolis to be closer to my daughter and granddaughters who live in Bluebell. You covered everything necessary to make a decision about moving to another country while in retirement. I’m thrilled for you and your bravery. I tend to go to France yearly and will be heading back in September for a month.
Be well. Joe.

Very impressed with this lady. She is great.
This is awesome! I always tell my wife we’re going to retire here! I love playa del Carmen. Granted only ever stayed on resorts. But the nicest people ever work at the resorts. I love Mexico.

You are the first person that I have seen and heard that gives an honest and very accurate view of living in Mexico. I am from Texas an American/ Mexican with dual citizenship and I have started planning for retirement. I just don’t know exactly where yet. All the best to you sir!
Thank You for a Great Video. I'm Retired and Single. Been to Mexico several times and Cancun/Playa Del Carmen 4 times. Looking to move there and doing my research Like You say. Your video is the Best I've seen on "what's it's like to live in Mexico on a daily basis" As much as I love the Yucatan I'm split between Puerto Vallarta and Playa. Having spent most of my life in San Diego Ca. I've always wanted to live near or on the Beach. I can do that in Mexico. You enjoy Your retirement.
Not only the beach and restaurants but all other turistic attractions in freshwater (magical cenotes) and live shows!
Good video. I have been to Playa a couple times. A nice area with great weather. Enjoy your stay. A great choice for sure.
sounds like Exactly what I am looking to experience, thank you for sharing
Glad you enjoyed this video Caroline

Welcome
Very nice interview, your comments are very close to a reality, you mentioned that you are willing to pay the "high" rent to live close to the ocean and have nice amenities included pet friendly. I like to mention that rents are from $10,000 - 40K or more, depending on your needs. I'm from the San Diego area and partially living in Playa Del Carmen, I like it because it's very walkable town with basically all the amenities of a big city and not in a need of a car, taxis are cheaper 2-3 blocks away from the tourist 5th Ave. Also a lot of culture to learn related to the Mayans near by. Good for you Molly!
Hi Jorge! Thanks for sharing. Yeap, Molly is right- she is paying for the luxury of being feet away from a beautiful beach and ocean. Some people are outraged that her rent is $37,000 MXN a month. But you can understand why when you consider her location and that her condo is brand new with upgrades. It would be very hard to find a similar rental close to a beautiful beach anywhere in the world for less than $1500 USD a Month. Yes you can live on less than that in Mexico, but you will have to compromise your location or your rental unit.
You should have mentioned those figures you mentioned are Mexican pesos.
Great interview. She makes it so real! For a decade I lived close to Cabo. Med emergency took me back to the states. I won't be moving back to the Cabo area because of the sky rocketing prices and the extreme heat. Ensañada seems to be more inviting because of the location and cooler temps! ❤
I love living in Ensenada. It's usually pretty cool here, it never gets too hot being close to the cool ocean keeps the air cool. You have to always keep a sweatshirt handy! Today (Feb 28) it's 66 and sunny. Nice in the sun and cool in the shade. I have a place about a half mile walk from me that has the best fish tacos con todo for $27mx or around $1.58us! That's at todays exchange rate of 17.05. Hmmm...I think I'll go there now! Buena suerte!
I love that you have done this I’m 55 and I can’t wait to do what you have done. Please keep in touch with me
hello love the video, just wonder what streaming services your use for tv
Hi Molly, I’m just a bit north of you on Isla Mujeres, for seven years now. Great video! 😊
Hi Stephen! That's awesome!
This is Mariana- owner of this channel. Would you be open to sharing your story like molly did with our audience? Email me please info@mexicorelocationguide.com
I'm 63 now but when I was 19 we traveled by van to playa del Carmen, at that time it was a vergin beach only 3 Hotels and 1 of them was being built we would pay $45 a night, I would walk 1/4 mile in the ocean and the water was waist high, Cosumel ride was 2 hours, it Was The Best.
Back home in the Philly area a 1 br will cost her 1400 + internet minimum. So glad that seniors see the light and are brave enough to move somewhere to have a good quality of life in their retirement
You are a very independent lady. God bless you n may you have the life that you want
I visited Playa 11 years ago… loved it, I’m in the Philly suburbs.
From Canada. Wish I had the nerve to do this. I just don’t. Congratulations for doing it
Heres some motivation. You’re going to die.
You can do it!
Can just do it for the winter? Best wishes.
Do it for a month to try it out
Great video…congrats from Montreal….merci beaucoup….thank you…..
A really genuine person.👍👍👏
You’re living the life I dream of!
She is living the dream!
She really is
So happy you can do that!
You woke me up, young lady! Very interesting video. need to show this to my wife. We had stayed in all inclusive resort, by you. It was the best vac ever. Such a value for the money. 7 days with flights cost us like staying in Miami beach only 3 days.
Mexico is the best gang for your buck- with amazing people, amazing food, amazing scenic places, and so much culture.
That’s great! To have a dream, a goal n just go n do it! Pet friendly a must! Good luck!
Good for you. A change like this isn't easy, for sure. We have one life and you are living yours.
Absolutely 💯
Thank you. Been thinking g about moving g there.
You'll love playa del carmen!
Last time I was in Playa Del Carmen it was only a tiny fishing village... It is crazy to see that many condo towers built now!
Yea it has grown a lot! Mostly because the internet makes it easier for other countries to learn about it
@@MexicoRelocationGuide just hope integrity of Mexico is not ruined.
Omg yes! When I first went 30 years ago it was so quaint!
Very nice. Appreciate the info. *** I see you drink the BEST beer! Dos Equis Amber! I have been drinking it forever, but sometimes Amber is hard to find. Have been going to Mexico since the 50s (western Mexico) & planed to retire there but stuff happens. Now, I will coming down to Yucatan to check out Rivera Maya & Merida/Progreso areas. Have done the usual cruises that stopped in the Maya/Cozumel but have never spent "real" time, so that I could research moves. I definitely think the Maya is a good option - if I can find a smaller home with some land & fenced for my dogs, close, but out of the city, that is safe & with a mixture of locals & expats. I am watching a lot of these videos for info & yours was very informative. Thanks Tom
Thank you for sharing your experience, I am still thinking about my retirement, Italy is speaking to me 😉
I may have met you! I also did KKIS English Conversational Club on Tuesdays.

You go lady, you are following your bliss🎉🍹🤗
Great video mam thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it
Excellent video Molly. Very informative. Thanks! What is the name of the taxi app you are using to figure out pricing. Can you pay through the app? Thanks again.
I remember living in Tohoku area of Playa del Carmen back in 1997 and our rent back then for a 3 bedroom was over $1000.00
1997 was 30 years ago. And the peso has lost about 1/2 of its value since then. Things have changed for sure 😉
Paying for a dog walker even when she voluntarily walks dogs…Oh the retirement! Can’t wait😊…lovely lady, strong to follow her dreams no matter what
¡ 100 % Wonderful Lady !
OMG! Molly!! .. I watched your 30 mins video.. a good thing by the way.
@3:42 God bless her. Look how active she is, like a little girl, easily bend down to touch the pool water. The secret is eating right, small portions and sleeping and walking enough daily.
Exactly! Treating your body with love is the key. And Mexico can provide that for many people who don’t have nice weather year round
I would say Playa Del Carmen is almost perfect, except for the humidity! Lol But no place is perfect. I tried going every winter for six years , renting a studio this year and coming November to Jan but it was so so humid it was unbearable. Also don’t be surprised if they tear the house down next to you and build 25 units . Happened to me . Just keep it in mind . The prices have doubled in the last six years. I do love the beach, when their isnt the seaweed. Ir is extremely walkable and very attractive people visiting from all over the world. Many close places to visit like Holbox island. Can you tell im torn?
Wow, that's what I call independent living. Good for you.
