In the middle of 2022 UNV's (Uniview) firmware has been updated to give you more control over audio recording but by default not everything is turned on. I had a problem with the sound quality of the video from the archive. When downloading to a file, a video is created in which the sound quality is very poor, the upper frequencies are already cut from about 1800Hz. But if you watch live video or video archive in the web interface of the recorder, it has quite acceptable quality (if the word "quality" can be used for G.711U audio). Latest firmware installed. Nobody faced such a problem?

My question is, are there any NVRs that don't use 1900s telephone audio quality? i.e. Something that runs on a 21st century audio codec as opposed to G.711U? I'd love to upgrade my CCTV system soon, but all I see is 1990s CCTV tech re-badged and modded with new camera sensors, but no real progression in the underlying technology. New advances don't seem to be making their way into consumer CCTV, only government surveillance CCTV.
