when I met Justin I told him about my sobriety off of heroin for 4 1/2 years i told him how he inspired my sobriety I told him about my bipolar panic attacks anxiety and PTSD he told me he was proud of my sobriety he told me to be proud of myself he told me to never give in and keep up the good fight he told me he loved me and then he said a prayer 🙏 for me Whenever I want to use again I think of what he said and it makes me focus on my sobriety and then I don’t want to use thanks 🙏 so much Justin I love you brother

Some of the most beautiful souls come from a place of darkness and internalized pain .. justin has found the path towards happiness and appreciation of life through his gift of creativity channelled masterfully with music .. he's able to put into words what so many find personally identifiable, myself included and it's made me more self aware and brought contentment and a feeling of things make all that much more sense, finally ..

Blue October has been more than just a band for me. From the first song to the last I cant explain the motivation Justin has been for me. One of my biggest motivation for me writing my book SuccessLife. Going from a Veteran with PTSD to a regular guy that is able to wake up on a daily and tell myself "Today I don't have to fall apart" is what i love about my mornings.
Same for me with my depression and my mental state of always being on the edge of suicide. When I was 18, I just couldn't take anymore, just constant thoughts of how my life is shit, and everyone would be better without me, I was broken down and at the end. 2 am one night, I turned on MTV, just as Hate Me started to play. I listened to it, and it helped, I don't why, but it helped. I went to sleep, and woke up the next day. For the last 14 years, when ever I was at my limit mentally, I would just sit in a dark room and listen to Blue October, for hours and it helped me through it. Now I'm working on turning my life around. I've lost over 400 lbs and still losing, started a weight training program. But there is always that thought of not being good enough, of being alone and everything, and when it pops up, I listen to the songs, and I get through it.

"People only want to see you circle the drain for so long..." Dude, how f**king true is that? It's so refreshing to hear Justin now - older and wiser - being able to identify the elements of narcissism that were buried in his younger self. It made for awesome songs, but certainly made his everyday life harder to live.
One of the very few artist with real passion and talent. No wonder why he is not very famous like the rest of mainstream posers and talentless rubbish, because most of today music establishments are not actually for music anymore.
"Building atmospheric sounds in your head" fantastic way to write music. Just the way you want to, do that.
Incredible story and he deserves all attention so much. Went to see the band at the 02 Institute in BIRMINGHAM UK and it was a truly fantastic night. You can see here in his video the passion - using it positively is great to see and this is felt through his songs. Incredible. So underrated.

I saw them live back in the day when KDGE 102.01 The Edge was around in Dallas, TX and iHeart radio bought them and those suckers shut it down a year later. I miss that radio station and the awesome bands they used to bring.
Incredible Talent. First song I heard from them was The ocean song... probably 7-8 years ago... No idea why I never researched this band more, but so be it... 6 weeks ago we lost our 23 year old son in a car accident.... His music is helping me tremendously.. God speed💯👊🏻☮️💟

My only real fear, I'm so sorry for your loss. I've dealt with losing damn near my whole family it's pretty amazing how we can use good music to heal or get inspiration to keep pushing. Good luck, good bless and keep pushing bub.

Absolutely amazing. Simple Chording, seriously heavy lyrics. This session hits every emotion inside of me. I saw Justin perform these 3 at a local Vineyard in PA and I couldn't take my ears and eyes off of him. I saw BO many times and as powerful and kickass as they were, listening to JF with just his Martin and his vocals is a whole ridiculously killer level. I do two of these songs live at my shows.
Please Please please do another show at knuckleheads it'd be great if you did an open book or even a full acoustic set with your drummer playing a soapbox with your violinist playing also electric player playing an extra acoustic guitar I was there on Monday when you guys came to Starlight you guys stole the show Even though Goo Goo Dolls are amazing thank you so much I'm going to start saving up money today to see you guys and Wichita Kansas I love you guys so much you guys are great keep up the good work and keep showing the great value of music

Holy cow... I only really know the radio stuff from BO years ago. I don't think this 'new' record ever came to my ears. I've also never heard him stripped down like this. I cried, a few times. I don't even know exactly why initially, although the last one was definitely with my boys in mind. What a voice.
