Sportscars from this era just sound so amazing... I mean they also look utterly amazing - to me the 512 & 917 ( and the 330 & 908 & so on ) are the archetypical sports prototypes - but so do some later cars which don't provide the whole package. That gearchange looks like a disaster waiting to happen though!
One thing i've always wondered - this was the first couple of years of aero in FIA sportscars set up for downforce rather than low drag, so is there actually any noticeable downforce?
