FM guests at "Countdown". Pretty interesting conversation, more serious than I've seen so far, although freddie's dry humor does come out every now and then.
What a nice, gracious, down to earth quietly spoken guy. It's really sad that he died. He was a brilliant singer and an equally brilliant showman. Sadly missed.
.... just wish Freddie was still here with us...not only for his musical talent and beautiful voice..but his thoughtful and honest contribution all the way round...we need someone like him more than ever nowadays....he is quite simply the essential missing ingredient
I've heard freddie sing opera with montserrat caballet he matched her matched her in every way. . His vocal range was beyond belief.and he was amazing. H tee eyes
I'm a big Stevie Wonder fan and a big Queen fan too so I'm so happy that he mentioned Stevie! Thought that was so cool! Thanks for sharing. Love this! Heidi
I did NEC birmingham I was 14 - front row centre stage - I wante to sell my ticket - thank god I didnt - true superstar I can honestly say I believe there is no one who sings with his vocal range since his death - long live his memory
Haha, How Interviews have changed with time!! I mean, the guy with the hat was caught looking at the monitor, looking to the other side (Not at Freddie)You do not see that today because of editing and god knows what. Well, The background music is loud and not good for the interview, but still it's always good to see Freddie, no matter what.
Why did i have to be born after he got unhealthy? What do we got now? Jb, nicki minaj, ariana grande etc. At least there are some small bands that actually try to make music but of course THEY arent famous.
sounds like it has absolutely never happened before with any other interviewer, ever, foreveradever, sever! whatever that word has to do with anything!
well, yes he was not directly from Iran but he was of iranic origin cause of his zorastrian/persian roots. You see we have some persians(diaspora) outside Iran. The arabs invaded Persia(sassanidian empire) about 1400 years ago many persians had 2 escape from the war, most of them came to India (Gujrat) and etablished a persian community. Still indians call them 4 Parsees cause of their persian ancestry. Parsee = Pars = Fars = persian. So he was racially, ethnically persian. But from India :D
Can one possibly imagine how good he would hae been had he not had nodules. The thought is quite something. If he could sing the way he did with nodes then who knows?
He just seems so cool here. He never seemed to really warm to Molly. I wonder why. Molly was a favourite interviewer to a lot of stars as he was so kind and positive in his commentary. He had some hilarious interviews with Rod Stewart and Elton John back in the day. They were great friends. Elton and Rod had female pet names as well and used to stir Molly up endlessly. Seems like that would be right up Fred's alley, and Fred was good friends with Elton. On the surface they would have a lot in common - gay guys who were in the "closet" right in front of everyone. They went to all the same clubs back in the day. Just different personalities I guess.
Yh i agree..I don't think CZcams should even have a comment section, period..whats the point? afterall, it just fuels arguments and people putting up trash..P.S.-this is my last comment
Well a lot of fans contrive meaning into things about stars that are private, Freddie was great at keeping things he didn;t want talked about a closed matter. In other things, he coyly broach subjects, just brushing certain topics, ie; personal life. I will say it is obvious in this interview he is closed to the interviewer, because the press in Britain and Austraila were very harsh and rather conservative and were more interested in his sex life than his music.
Freddie Mercury is still the greatest songwriter and authority in show business.
FM is a lot more serious during this interview than I'm used to seeing. That being said, everything about FM is soooooo sexy.
This is the first video I've seen of Freddie and he wasn't smoking. Maybe that's why he was so serious.😍😍😍😍
Freddy Was gorgeous!!!
He is so right about Russia at that time! "I don't think they are quite ready for us yet"
He was a very intelligent person!
What a nice, gracious, down to earth quietly spoken guy. It's really sad that he died. He was a brilliant singer and an equally brilliant showman. Sadly missed.
He is so sweet🥰
Terrible interviewer, intelligent, soft-spoken, talented Freddie is so understated. Love him.
I love it at 3:11 after Molly says some people like heavy metal and nothing else, and Freddie says "That's their problem"! He was just amazing! : )
He hated giving interviews!! He really was magnificent! Love seeing him do Opera! With his own spin!
.... just wish Freddie was still here with us...not only for his musical talent and beautiful voice..but his thoughtful and honest contribution
all the way round...we need someone like him more than ever nowadays....he is quite simply the essential missing ingredient
One of the greatest voices ever!
@@jakee5059 ~ can’t forget Roy Orbison 🤷🏼♀️

You can see the sky behind Freddie getting darker and darker, he must have been there for so long.
Wonderful interview. Freddie looks relaxed and speaks well. Of course he is extremely handsome and sexy as well. Lol. When isn't he?
I've heard freddie sing opera with montserrat caballet he matched her matched her in every way. . His vocal range was beyond belief.and he was amazing. H tee eyes
Such a gentleman
Self-effacing & giving others credit all the time
What a loss but also what a massive gain for the world that we had him/them ❤
RIP my lord Freddie, u The One Freddie

True. It's a shame that there were so few Freddie interviews throughout his career in Queen.

So handsome, sexy, sweet, kind, clever, talented.... LOVE YOU FREDDIE......
Queen is in every category. I realized that when i was just a kid sitting there playing my records.
I don't think I've ever seen Freddie look more uncomfortable in an interview. XD Cute though. :)
Freddie mercury liked to call a spade a spade. He was very honest about his feelings especially when it came to the media.
beautiful freddie!
Grande Freddie!
I never heard him actually speaking before. His voice is very different to what I imagined.
What a great interview !
I liked the clip. I am a fan of Queen & their music. Giving opinions of other artists offered more insight into Freddie.
he gave the finger at 1:12 min
the sly look to the camera suggests it was no mistake...i love it!

The background music was so loud I could barely hear them ugh

At 1:12 freddie mercury look at the camera guy and show the Fuck you finger to him xD
corrupt their youth... nah whatever :)
freddie was so humble and down to earth... what a legend

I don't know if Freddie was "PERFECT", but in my opinion he was the comsumate rock star.

A true legend, Timeless music. so funny when he flips off at the camera at 1.13.
So shy
This man would've survived the apocalypse.
To był gość jedyny niepowtarzalny .Światowa gwiazda z krwi i kości a zawsze taki skromny
I wonder why he flipped the camera off...lol his face while he did like he was trying to be slick...haha
this is a good interview
No Matter what his orientation Him and the group were geniuses in music .. thier music will live on for a very long time
OMG, that is so funny. He slipped it in there, didn't he? He was a doll.

Nice to see Freddie speak of Heavy Metal!

Fermati FReddieee!!!...era proprio un grande!sente Crazy little thing called love" e muove le gambe!!!
The background songs were distracting.
Yeah, I was amazed at how deep it was.
Thats Ian 'Molly' Meldrum, he hosted a music program in Australia in the 70's and 80's called COUNT DOWN.
its sad what wome people think of freddie but no matter what he is one of he greatest entertainers of all time
I did NEC birmingham I was 14 - front row centre stage - I wante to sell my ticket - thank god I didnt - true superstar I can honestly say I believe there is no one who sings with his vocal range since his death - long live his memory
I hope you're still doing well... which year?
from 1m10secs to 1m15 secs was freddie giving out a subtle wanker sign?
I agree, I can't concentrate on the interview while hearing "Crazy little thing called love".
1:12 Freddie gives the finger HAHA awesome!
I like that he mentions George Michael.

brill
freddie seems .... subdued
He doesn’t like doing interviews
And that was the last time Freddie came to Australia :(
The greatest rocker of Persian descent.
freddie is amazing legendary and beautiful
Freddie Mercury was born in Zanzibar of Indian Zoroastrian parents from Gujarat, and went to school outside of Mumbai till he was 17....
@thefluffydaisy No, his birthname was Farrokh Bulsara but he changed it to Freddie Mercury :) So his real name was actually Freddie Mercury :D
Freddy and Molly... Yes it was rumoured
I was....Sacred when i heard his voice...i thought he spoke like his songs...sounded....you know....good.

Only the good die young!
Mathias - see my comment - Mercury was the first of many South Asian rockers
Can one possibly imagine how good he would hae been had he not had nodules. The thought is quite something. If he could sing the way he did with nodes then who knows?
For an amazing interpretation of Freddie Mercury's Love of my Life check out a new Irish band called Sephira..See what you think!

Isn't he a hottie lol
Yh i agree..I don't think CZcams should even have a comment section, period..whats the point? afterall, it just fuels arguments and people putting up trash..P.S.-this is my last comment
lol you right he did flick the camera off!
nah, i dont think freddie had anything against him at all, freddie was just like that, a no nonsense serious guy
Well a lot of fans contrive meaning into things about stars that are private, Freddie was great at keeping things he didn;t want talked about a closed matter.
