    Wow 200k, its great you are taking such a good care of this car, I also have w211 and feel no need to get something newer as these cars seems to be aging very nicely, interior is great, has all the amenities that you might need on long journeys (I find seats very very comfy on long trips) Do think of getting a newer Mercedes model? if yes what that will be? going for diesel again?

    would you recommend draining the coolant from the engine block? where is the drain bolt located?

    • @tapsulinka
      @tapsulinka Před 3 lety

      Yes you need to do it and it is under the car. Unfortunately I do not know how to upload photos with comments. That engine, E320CDI is having 12,6 litres of coolant fluids, not 6,5+2 as said at video

    Fantastic video. Seems to be very hard hold the camera and work with only one hand. Congrats for your video.

    Just did my water pump today. Very helpful tutorial. Only tip I can think of adding is pop thief idler pulley covers off before releasing belt tension.
    Thanks Doc!
    P.S. I believe you said in another video you're in Florida. Will you be at Amelia Island for the Concours show this May?

    Great video! Where did you get your water pump? Did you decide to go with a genuine Mercedes pump or did you get an aftermarket one such as Meyle, Graf or Lasko?

      nothing beats OEM Specs... when I put in my time to save on ridiculous dealer charge, I don't save on parts quality. 👍🏻
      Knock-offs parts dont have to last as long as OEM because they get installed at high mileage.
      Just like in construction: "contractor grade" realy means junk, does Not mean tip-top.

    i hope you changed this radiator as valeo ones had a lot of issues

    • @jaymase3735
      @jaymase3735 Před 4 lety +1

      They fixed that issue in mid 04. All E320 CDIs in America were produced after the date they fixed the radiators. Only some in Europe that were sold as 04 Model year cars were affected- as far as E320 CDIs are concerned.

      @@7AMDG you can replace SBC by taking to a dealer based on the recently renewed recall, it is free .

    Well... I am not car mechanic but anyway I do know a little bit more about cars than average driver so I like to ask 2 questions:
    - you said "I have about 6 and half litres and probably still about 2 litres left..." MB owners manual information for E 320 CDI tells that there is totally 12,6 litres of cooland fluid. It means that you have lots of coolant fluids inside the car. Now you are changing to diffewent and it is not good to mix those
    - I have seen photos (not yet checked from my MB) of another knob you should open to get out all the rest of the coolant fluids. Do you know anything about that?
    Remember to check out twice before you are doing yourself using advice not from official sources!!
