Just did the job on my 06 CDI. Great video from parts, torque values, and routing of serpentine belt. Outstanding!

What is the temperature on your thermostat? 92 or 87?
Is duo heater valve can block the coolant and increase coolant pressure and lose coolant on expansion tank?
    Thank you

Did you check coolant hoses for EGR?

After filling up with antifreeze have you got to bleed the system? If yes how? thanks for a tremendous informative lesson.

Good video , how are the hoses connected to the radiator? Looks like it twists and seals. I have not seen that connection type before.

DR---BEAUTIFUL EXACTING JOB AS USUAL FOR YOU. SUPERB DETAIL!!!!! DID YOU NOTICE THE TOP BOLT ON THE THERMOSTAT BEING LONGER THAN THE OTHER 2??
ALSO, NOTICED A STRIPE OF BLUE LOCTITE ON MOST OF THOSE BOLTS, DID YOU REDO THE TEMP LOCTITE?? DOES "WIS" RECOMMEND THAT?
    THX AGAIN!!

I bought a Borg Warner thermostat, neither of the two holes were tapped, the screws are not thread cutting screws, I wonder how may people don’t tap the holes and damage the housing. The bracket screws are the same length as the thermostat so I torqued those to slightly more 10Nm nearly as the thermostat @9Nm and its easier to tap with the thermostat unmounted.

Yes. Usually can be found on ebay -- a few disks to load onto a computer. Really helps.

Very nicely done! I'm just about to reach 240k miles on my '05 W211 CDI & it is a Florida car too. If you're curious as to what might be in store maintenance-wise in next 40k miles, I have documented everything that I've had to replace over that time @ fuelly.com... My handle there is 'PSDCamperVan' Keep the DIY's coming, excellent!
