Flash Flood Cleanup

- Last fall the remnants of Hurricane Florence gave us a significant flash flood in the middle of the night on September 18th 2018. While our home and the farm fields were remarkably undamaged, the flooding in the creeks and on our road moved an astonishing amound of gravel, boulders and sediment. Along with all the natural debris there was an astonishing amount of man-made garbage that was washed down onto our property and we are in the process of cleaning up before the vegetation begins to grow and makes some of it difficult to see and collect. The range of garbage is pretty varied from things you would expect, like tires, plastic bags, and beer cans to quite unexpected things like a cast iron bathtub. Its all part of living in the country in these modern times.

What a beautiful place. You did a great job. Have a great day
Interesting pile of debris that you have collected!
Hi, besides the garbage you have a very nice place there. That creek would be fantastic, water for us is a big deal :) the truth of modern life I think is that not enough people care about their actions when it comes down to dumping rubbish :( hope you get the upper hand on the clean up.
My PBR are all pop tops.
Second most powerful force known to man, crazy what hydraulics can do. I'm constantly picking crap out of our creek run.
And you should call your town Highway Department and tell them that the flash flood washed away all the asphalt from your road except for those four little places...
If they had not stopped using steel beverage cans, those cans would just be iron in the soil, by now.
An ATV and a cable with a hook could be useful.
