I remember this season like it was yesterday lol..I was a big fan of Mark Walters.. a tad inconsistent but on his day a truly class player
a favourite of mine to Walters was,
I thought he was our player of the season in 92-93.
He was dogshit. A perfect example of how far we fell so fast.

Looking at the league results on Wikipedia, we won one match in 11 games from December to March. Absolutely dire.
Rosenthal was the strangest player ... Without the ball he looked like an exhausted hunchback .... WITH the ball ... he became this ultra fast deadly presence!
He was a football enigma ... Capable of sheer moments of class ... but visually looked unfit and bulky.
I forgot how good Mark Walters was for us!!

One of the worst seasons we've ever had to endure ...
The season before we at least had the enjoyment of the crazy FA Cup run and eventually wining it ... and the seasons after this saw the team become more exciting and competitive ... but THIS season was 9 months of struggle and nothingness ...
And just when you think Souness can't do anything to make us even weaker ... He sells two of the most consistent players from the season before - Saunders and Houghton - to Villa, who would go on to challenge for the title.
