I have dedicated my own Audi A4 engine to this experiment never tried on CZcams before on EA888!!! Let me know your thoughts on this, and your own experiences / advice in reducing engine ticking.

I’m having the same issue with my 2012 2.0. The rocker arms and lifters are being replaced, hopefully that will resolve the tapping noise.🤞
did you end out getting the rockers and lifters done ?

I have cured a similar problem with 2L 16v zetec. I run the engine for a month on 0w40 Mobil 1 engine oil.
That's good oil definitely was worth a go then. Glad is sorted.
I am at 114.000 my ticking noise has increased a bit.
Don't think it's just the injectors anymore. however I did order the ceratec oil treatment and the LiquiMoli 2030 . Also set an oil service for next Thursday. Wish me luck
isnt the tapping noise caused by the fuel injectors of the high pressure line for direct injection?
No that's something else.
I’m using CERATEC 30ml on my 2.0 TFSI gen 3 2016 it sounds still quiet nice ‘till today

In this video you compared the noise after with the engine noise surpression cover on,so not like for like.
In the before comparison the engine cover is off. Not a very fair or good comparison.
Im having the same issue on my jetta GLI gen3, i heard that the camshaft variator has a lot of problems, im going to replace it
did you get it replaced ? did it resolve the noise ?
@@bside8568 yes I had to replace the whole camshaft, it comes with the variator all in one, that solved the problem for me, the sinthomps were: when cold and idle it had a little sound like a TDi, when getting warmer it sounds harder, and when you use the car hard and its hot, it started to misfire, around 600/650rpms idle, which is not correct...
Those gen 2 tsi/tfsi have tensioner issues look up noise the exact same
Sounds a lot like that could be timing chain slap.
Great video mate. Have you try hitting it with a big hammer? Works sometimes :)
At least gave a try to the easy solution and even though the issue is not resolve no harm was done either.
I think that engine will be coming off one day, that car has been good to me..
