  • Welcome to the first video in a series, where we CRUSH the parking spots that people have trouble with. We will try to park the trailer from every angle that I can think of, and we won't leave until the area has been thoroughly defeated. In this video, we battle Coastline Mining in Carson City, NV with a G27 and TrackIR.

The first time I came accross this place was at night. Thus using the bird's eye view was helpfull, it still took me any hour of real time to do. Week's lator, having done it once at night, doing it in the day time, was a piece of cake.
In my days prior to retirement, when I didn't know exactly the layout of the area I was to back into. I would get out and scope out the entire area on foot first. My son being half my age prior to my retirement. Utilizes a whole knew technolgy rather than walking, he uses a drone to view the layout of the area.

It’s not a challenge if you change the camera. I understand you’re trying to teach, but if you could teach what to do from cab view, that’s be awesome.
I feel ATS is really only a simulator if you stay in the cab view.

What I usually do it I don't reverse like u do I like to challenge myself so instead of reversing alot of just go straight and go in a corner and turn the trailer 80-90 degrees if max idk more fun for me 🤗

Well, better late then never. You know that you actually failed Coastline Mining? Do you? It is always a night time delivery. That's why the "hurry up" music plays the hole time and that's why everyone had problems with it. When you get there for the first time, don't see a thing because it's night time and maybe running with a 6x2? That is the actual challenge here.

Or better yet : use realistic field of view mirrors mod , and do it from the cabin , only on your mirrors like we had to learn it in the Eu when we went for our license .... and you only can straighten it out twice , and don’t look outside the window or you’ll instantly failed the test ...

What do you use to have the free camera or whatever? I think you said in a video what is was, but can't find it :p

+Conceited98 In order to activate console and developer mode you must go to
"Documents" and then to the "American Truck Simulator" folder. There you
will find a file named config.cfg - open it using the notepad and find the "uset g_console 0" and "uset g_developer 0" line and change their value from 0 to 1.
In order to use "0" camera (free camera) you must press the key ([0] by default) during the game. To control the camera you can use mouse and the keys on the numerical keyboard.
Basically, you have to set both those things to "1" in the config file. Then, you can hit zero in game to enter free camera. You use the mouse, and the numerical keys to move the camera.
Seems like a pain in the ass, but it literally takes about one minute to set up.

you know I did forget to tell you something in the other vid... if you enable console you can teleport anywhere on the map... you just put in the goto command and city. then using f9 teleport truck and trailer... Ian has a good tutorial I'll link it in a bit
