i never noticed the 2DS was just a really big game boy color
True tho
It's a Gameboy Color Advance SP...literally
it’s an elongated switch lite
I DIDNT EVEN KNOW WHAT A NORMAL 2DS LOOKED LIKE IN GENERAL
@@Vendetta162X Literally not, You can't even bend the 2ds
Left my 2ds at my exes house years ago, still miss that thing
Bro that's sad man
She prob sold it
Normal 2ds are pretty cheap to get
Bro… I NEED TO KNOW THE STORY BEHIND THAT
@@firexo they cost more than retail though in good condition, I remember Walmart was selling them new for $80 not on discount or anything. That was my first 2ds, loved it.
I remember my parents got me the 2ds cause it was cheaper and I didn't really care about the 3d feature. Still don't regret it until this day
Nah.. they don't love you
The 3D feature was so underrated
You never got to take a 3d selfie .??? 😅😭😭😭😭😭
What happened on the day of this comment's publication?
Yikes
Bro really just went from smallest to biggest 💀
well yeah, thats generally how it goes in terms of comfort with handhelds
He's compensating.
the 2ds is smaller than all 3 XL models
it’s honestly valid i have the oldest 3ds model and my fingers start cramping after a while
@@eliserssI disagree when you have small hands a smaller handheld is better most of the time
This makes me feel better about getting a 2DS lol
Same 😭😭😭 was thing about buying the 3Ds XL. But I think I will keep the 2DS. Thanks to the comments haha
You wouldn't be missing out on too many games. Most of the New 3DS-exclusive games could be played on other platforms (including the Switch) with much higher quality.
I enjoyed the 2DS when I tried it. And I played a Wii port on it, so not only it was comfy but it was cozy, felt like I as playing a Wii gameon a mini mini tv :3
@@moddedinkling4168 How do you play 3ds games on a switch? (without jailbreaking it)
@@2001elham It's not the 3DS versions of those games. What I'm saying is that most games exclusive to the New 3DS have been ported to the Switch, so there's almost no reason to play those 3DS versions.
The reason the 2ds was so much more comfortable was because instead of having the shoulder buttons and face buttons all cramped because of the hinge the 2ds let your hand kind of sit in a more comfortable and casual way instead of scrunched up
I actually prefer my new 3ds xl as i can hold it more like how i hold a controller but I don't so I don't touch the sides to prevent the dreaded peeling
@@chairgaming1997 nice. I personally haven't used a 3ds for a while I used my older brothers 3ds like once and my hands started hurting. Maybe I was holding it wrong
You dont say
I loved my 2DS, but it was even better after buying a PDP Trigger Grip for it. After that, it is extremely comfortable, feels a bit like the XBOX Duke controller.
It's like the gba compared to the gba sp. Og gba is more comfortable to hold.
My friend actually uses his original 2ds as a door stop
Modern problems
I wanna get to know this dude lol
Id buy him a door stopper and buy the 2ds of em for a lower Price considering he clearly doesn't know how much they can cost
@@hakuizunami6421100$
@@hakuizunami6421still using it as a door stop
Thats actually true tho
I had a 2DS back in the day and I remember being able to play on that thing for hours and not have any cramps or numb fingers.
Makes you wonder why Nintendo insisted on the stacked configuration when all other consoles had the lower set of controls indented inward.
You don't get cramps from a normal 3ds xl or new 3ds xl unless you struggle to lift a piece of paper
@@arzfan29this is what I was thinking. I’ve never got hand cramps from any gaming device unless i was playing something where I had to pull a trigger a lot or button mash for whatever reason. Or if I’m on my PC and I’m having to click repeatedly over and over again. Literally never got cramps from a casual game
@@arzfan29i dont get cramps when playing most games on ds or 3ds APART FROM mario kart ds and 7, i have played them on my dsi, n3dsxl and n2dsxl and its really uncomfortable. Ive had cramps while playing mk7 as a kid but id just ignore it and get 1st anywau lol
My thoughts exactly. 2DS was the optimal system 5 playing Mario Kart 7 on, it just felt right, especially with the huge bumpers you can drift with.
Along with the new 3DS, it also has the highest pixel per inch (PPI) density. Some games on the XL just look so bad becuase they are stretched.
I agree it was really comfortable but now the bumpers on my 2ds are kinda broken and don’t really work unless i put a lot of pressure on them. It was my favorite thing growing up tho
The optimal system 5 playing Mario kart on?
So true when my sisters got 2ds’s they kept asking me to beat the 150cc just so they can have golden marios😂, besides the point the bumpers made it so easy to drift
I loved the 2DS, it just felt amazing in your hands. Plus it's the Alpha Saphire version.
But it looks so ugly. Ugliest handheld console in history
@@jersen5085 true i hate having mine

The 2D is indeed one of the most comfortable, the first time I hold one it was funny to me how comfortable was
I just got a 3d printed grip for my 2ds. Man, its just fancy now
I still have my original 3ds, still in decent condition too. One of the best items I have ever gotten.
same ive had it for almost 10 years
I just found my 3DS and a bunch of games for it. Maybe last week. I have been grinding Pokémon black.
Mine got a black screen of death 😢
@@thefreshestmango1106sorry for ya lost
@@hakuizunami6421 its alright. Got a 2ds hand me down from a co-worker some years back. Still have it on me today.
I was honestly surprised with the 2DS being number 1. When I bought mine about 6 or so years ago, I decided to get an original 2DS because it was the cheapest and didn't expect it to be so comfortable but it was.
same here! i just wanted the cheapest play to play 3ds games on the original hardware, little did i know i actually kind of bought the best 3ds in a way.
Also I have dropped it on title not recommending that and it still works . I just feel the 3ds could break at the joints and the screen cuz of the layout. That what happen to my ds so idk how durable the 3ds are.The 3ds's 3d feature do hurt my eyes.
@@pastelx7 fax, the 2ds is so sturdy
My favorite to play Mario kart on 😅
I like the look of it, but to me it's not worth it to lose the 3D effect. I really enjoy it in games.
Love the Kirby plush in the background to the bottom right
I saw the end coming and couldn't agree more. I was shocked with how comfortable it was. Your number two choice beats it in portability though.
I have little hands so I never shared the obsession everyone had with the regular 2DS. That said, the XLs are really nice in the hands. I love the tactile feeling of the buttons and the stick isn't jammed up near the top of the screen like the originals. Feels super fancy.
Sadly, lost all of my regular XLs to my ex and I'm waiting on my R4 card to unbrick my New XL. So it's just my tiny little pink one with the bald thumbstick for now. :(
I have small hands too 💀 but when I was able to hold a 2DS it was surprisingly really comfortable! That’s interesting!
You actualy don’t need an r4 card for playing 3ds games and even ds games. You can homebrew using just an sd card there’s many videos on it
@@andrewdinh3180 True, but they're buying an R4 to use ntrboot for unbricking their 3DS
@@andrewdinh3180 btw, NEVER use a video guide for 3ds hacking. just look up 3ds hacks guide
@@hampig9241 true 3ds hacks is always up to date with files.
I always preferred the New 2DS xl, and I think I will for the foreseeable future. This is because I never used the 3D effect anyway, so it was cheaper to get this and still get the performance boost of the New systems.
agreed
it also just looks the nicest, atleast in my opinion... and while it mostly retains the form factor of the new 3ds xl, it's actually slightly lighter and thinner which makes it more portable and comfortable for longer periods of time
I loved the OG 3ds, it’s fairly comfortable in my hands, and mine has given me a lot of nice memories.
still have my 2ds from 2016, the amazing memories i have with it wont ever be forgotten
My original 2DS is black and red! its chilling inside my prada bag. I agree its super comfy to hold.
Ok there big leagues
@@billuminati3867 right like jeez bro save some bitches for the rest of us

Ok jew
I have that Pokémon 2DS model, loved that thing…
I have the Yoshi 3DS XL and it feels so comfortable
I am in Canada
There aren't much Yoshi 3ds in the whole world because they really rare
I always owned an original DS, but somedays wish I grabbed the 3DS. They look so neat
The Dpad on the new 2DS XL is the best thing I've ever felt. Also I recommend grips for people who don't like the 3DS feeling
Agreed, 2ds xl with grips is near perfection 👌 only issue is the wobbly hinge but you get used to it. The clicky buttons feel amazing!
@@ItsAnGoose ya the wobbly hinge doesn't matter much unless the game uses gyro controls
I love the 2ds .... Its just first so good in the hands ...
My Pokémon Sun special edition 2DS is very happy rn
2DS was a game changer!
Such a nice handheld
For my small hands, the normal 3DS is so comfortable to hold, i just find tiny stuff comfortable to hold.

hi
Im so glad the OG 2ds got number 1, cause yes, it just melts in your hands.
my Red 3DS XL broke in February 2022
i had that since 2013 my brother got it for me as a birthday gift. i played all my pokemon games on that thing & took it everywhere with me.. i miss it.
I love how much love the og 2ds has been getting, really makes me regret my old broken kyogre model
My hands start to cramp when I play my original 3ds for more than an hour or two because it's too small, but I still think it's got the best build quality of all the models. The hinge is so nice on the original and has no wobble compared to all the other new models.
I remember being blown away by the build quality of the OG 3DS back in 2011. It made by my DSi which was also well built imo feel like a cheap toy. I was jealous of all the kids on the bus that had one 😂😂.
I've held every single one of these and I'd like to agree with this list. Even tho my favourite is the non xl new 3ds for it's shape, portability, hardware and cover plates!
I don't wanna play these games but i really want that 2nd one. Looks awesome!
I picked up a 2DS recently and I have not been able to put it down, its so comfortable to hold for extended periods of time
I love the normal New 3DS. It's small, fits in every pocket and I really like the swappable faceplates. The only bad thing about it is the battery life! Way too short. Never tried out the 2DS because I always thought it looked a bit like a cheap kids toy, but I definetly have to check it out. It's going to be in the collection someday anyways. Gotta say, I'm a bit jealous of all your 3DS models! :D
Agreed. I got the original 3ds on release and loved it and then I got the n3DS non-XL used back in like 2017. Glad I got it then because prices hsve gone way up since. I still like my original one, the sheen is so pretty and the glow of the 3D is a nice touch. That said, I modded my n3DS and it's such a beast.
I have both new 3ds and xl, but I usually use the small model.
Your almost at 10k, good job
The 4th place 3DS was my childhood, I sadly lost that Yoshi 3DS around my house when I was little
Ohhhh yeahhh it just FITS in your hand SOOO comfortably
definitely agree, I miss my old 2ds
Man the 3ds is such an underrated console. The library of games is so great and massive. There was 1402 games released for the 3ds, and if you want to include da games, that goes up to over 3000!
It's becoming less and less underrated thanks to the modding community.
Citra is making the actual console obsolete.
@@dravenripley9468 Not really. Many 3DS games work better having both screens in place.
@@dravenripley9468Nothing compares to playing on the actual console though.
@@dravenripley9468I get what you mean but it's still a better feel. You get the gyro controls, the stereoscopic 3D, hell it's more portable too. And modding it makes it even better too
Literally recovering from hand pain after playing on my og 2ds
I love the look of that New 2-DS XL
Love the nibbly stick 😂
Great run down of the handhelds, thank you for all the info to us all. #shorts #Roadto10k
The shoulder buttons on the 2DS are the best as well, so glad to have a legacy Katsukity Capture Card too, home girl also gave me the Zelda Edition :D
I'm happy I have both the 1st and 2nd place devices from this list.
Currently waiting for a replacement screen for my 2ds to arrive today. I hacked it in middle school and I'm hoping to enjoy it again after so long. Hopefully I don't break a ribbon cable clasp
Did the replacement the other day and it's working great, new display is crisp but my dpad up and down is still broken, no idea how to fix that. Thankfully the analog stick serves nearly the same purpose
@@adriancarrillo2026 if you want to, replacing the conductive pad sticker under your d-pad should do it
@ham Pig thanks for the tip, I've been thinking about fixing it but didn't know what to actually do to it and opening it to reach the d-pad is such a hassle to even begin without a plan in mind going in
The new models should really get some bonus points, I'm one of the few people who liked the 3d, but on my original 3ds I always got cramps trying to get the exact angle right, with face tracking and a larger screen the new 3ds XL is a must have
BRO! YOU HAVE THE SAME NEW 3DS XL THAT I HAVE!! DESIGN AND EVERYTHING!!
I use the circle pad pro or steering wheel accessories for my OG 3DS and they're both pretty comfortable to hold, ngl. Honestly pretty underrated accessories imo
The fact that there’s even five versions of this…
Six versions.
Theres just as many DS too
@@aikesscs There are only four DS models.
@@moddedinkling4168 so basically 2 more yeah
Interesting enough technically there are 4 versions of the switch the original, the revision of original, the lite, and the oled. And the Gameboy color is just a revision of the original gameboy, meanwhile the SP is just a revision of the gba, and the DS lite, dsi, and dsi xl are revisions of the original DS. Nintendo loves to make small changes to a console in order to sell you another I mean even the Wii had a revised model without GameCube support and a mini version.
I had a 2ds and upgraded to the xl but I can tell you this, I would've just been fine with the regular 2ds. It honestly is comfortable.
I got the Og 2ds for my 13th birthday and it served me well for a few months 🥲 thinking of getting another one
Agree 💯 the original 2ds pokemon crystal consoles are my favorite. The transparent blue, red, green, and yellow look really amazing. I can't wait to complete the set and display them.
Back then, it was around 2012, I got the original 3DS model from my big brother and I still have it today
My number 1 and 2 would be the 2ds and 2ds xl respectively because the light weight of the xl and the larger size is great for longevity when you do extended play sessions
I had a jailbroken 2ds that wqs that exact color, amazing memories
I have the old 3ds model and i put an extended battery in it so now its not as slim anymore and it made it more comfortable
As soon as I saw the Zelda design I swear I went 😮
I agree with you the 2DS is really underrated I have the Legend of Zelda model honestly the best thing I ever purchased
I still have my dsi and own a switch....I plan on buying more games for my ds, but I suddenly have a desire to purchase a 2ds specifically Link green. Will it be a good purchase?
@@randallmontejano7787 if I were you I would just get a regular 2DS it plays all the 3DS games and DS games fits comfortably in your hands I do suggest getting a carrying bag that way you can put it inside the bag when you're done because it doesn't fold.
Also that 2DS XL and OG 3DS look fucking sick, dude
I had the 3DS for my first personal console (i had a wii and wii u but that was for everyone) so i always liked it.
Love that i still have my 2ds that i got on black friday in 2013
OG 3DS with the pro pad on it. Loved it. way better than the nub they added
To this day I'm still on the hunt for a (reasonably priced) O2DS. I have the O3DS and the N2DSXL, but the uniquenss of the doorstop is well worth being in the collection!
Getting my 2ds fixed rn can’t wait to use it again after 10 years
I was with this list till you put both 2DS models up top haha 😆
SOMEONE FINALLY SAID IT! Thank you, I use my 2ds more than my N3DSXL because of how comfortable it is! (also cuz it’s modded)
Dude I have that exact new 2ds xl, I love the Pokéball one
I had the Red DSI XL 25th Anniversary Edition and it was soooo goated
Knew that 2DS was coming in at number 1. For such a goofy looking little brick that thing feels absolutely terrific to play on.
You can get ready to throw sand at me...
I rather holding the OG 3DS
Ok, you can throw sand at me now
Wanted a 2ds xl or 3ds, so happy I went with the original 2ds grew on me immediately
2dsXL my favorite, got a massive digital library on mine, slowly but surely turning into a very special treasure of mine.the original 2ds was nice, but without the folding not very mobile lol
Personally I think I'd put the original XL over the new 2DS XL, just cause you have to have a floaty grip on it to hear the speakers (which are directly in the corners where your palms go) and the hinge is even flimsier than the original XL
Also sucks that the objectively worst model has by far the comfiest hand feel. Very good thickness and button placement and my hands naturally wrap around the top for those meaty shoulder buttons.
the 2ds sucks
its uncomfortable
I love and bought the new Nintendo 3DS XL today haha
That's great!
I love the original 3DS XL so much- yeah the floopy top screen is a little bad but its pretty comfy ive had mine for 8 years now and it still works like a charm!
Heck yeah, i bought that exact clear blue 2ds way back in 2013. Still have it to this day. And yes, it is the most comfortable to hold.
I got a regular 2DS, modded and everything. Still play it, and it's really fun! I even got CTGP-7 now, so I can enjoy MK7 a lot more!
I didn’t even realise there were so many models
I used to have the snes XL in 2017 of Christmas now I lost it and now I have the black one.
:) *VERY TRIGGERED*
update lol, i broke my black 3ds and now im going to get a new snes for my birthday. LETS GOOO!
I have that exact Pokeball new 2ds xl and love it ❤
I had a 2DS as my first newer gen system in around 2018, before that was a DSI, I remember the first time I opened up the box and started playing my included copy of mariokart… memories man
i was trying a og 3ds at the nearest store and it felt kinda good i was exploring the apps and whatever and i bought it (it was the only small model the guy owned )
My 2DS still goes immaculate.
I started with a 2DS, sold it for a New 3DS XL, then sold it for an OLD 3DS and now I'm selling it again and going back to the 2DS. It's just fantastic
Old 3ds xl is just godly, I might increase the size of the XL and XR bumpers on my new 3ds xl though
Loved my og 2ds for 10 years now. About to get a new 3ds xl from Japan, really curious how different it's gonna be
I had the original 3DS with a Circle Pad Pro. Loved that thing
i feel so recognized for enjoying my og 2DS
I love how youre flexing that you have all the 3ds models and several special editions of them
I knew it... maybe I'll get one it has that old school tiger electronics handheld feeling to it
My brother has the 2ds and i didnt realize how easy it is to replace the battery lol
I used to (and still do) play my 2ds for HOURS on end. I rember playing paper mario sticker star, mario cart 7, and Luigi mansion dark moon. Good times
I only have a 2ds and I am glad to see that it is the most comfortable handheld.
I have a new 2ds xl, and i chose it because i personally adore the clamshell design, kind of wish i got a new 3ds xl but oh well its still amazing
I actually just ordered a Japanese Cobalt Blue OG 3DS a few days ago. I only ever got to use my best friends Aqua Blue 3DS growing up. I had the original silver DS and then a Red DS Lite. I’ll eventually get a New XL but I wanted some nostalgia with the OG 3DS.
