If the wife was glancing at her husband's friend at 1:08 I think her smile and expression towards him speaks volumes. She's not grieving her lost husband, she also only talks about how she feels, no plea to find her husband, no sadness, no concern, no tears. Police need to be looking into the wife and the friend, I hope they are.
I was taken aback by the obvious affection and intimacy in their body language. There's more than a missing husband and friend between those two. And they're not even trying to hide it. I wonder if that happened after Tom's disappearance or before it? Maybe his vehicle was placed there to make it look like he went on a hike?
There was a fictional murder story where the wife clobbered her husband with a frozen leg of lamb, put it in the oven to roast, then went shopping to give herself an alibi. She told everyone she met that she was there to get mint jelly because Hubby insisted on having it with lamb. She came home, "discovered" his body, and fed the leg of lamb to the detectives who responded. This has that vibe.

Whether or not they did anything to Tom, certainly they should understand that being filmed in such an Embrace and without demonstration of emotion would be completely inappropriate and even cast suspicion on them. So they are either completely innocent and dumb or guilty and really dumb. Two choices that are stark opposites.

They found Tom a few weeks ago. They also just found the young lady who disappeared a few years ago on the same trail. Sad but thankful both families can have closure.

For the 10 years I lived in the WA Cascades my partner and I often helped in searches for missing hikers. It’s so easy to lose direction and wind up off trail. Many people don’t prepare for this, especially on day hikes. This isn’t a walk in a city park. We’ve recovered hikers who gave up less than a quarter mile from inhabited dwellings or busy roads or even minutes from their own parked cars.
Survivorman Les Stroud has said that the majority of people who get lost in the woods are usually a quarter mile from a road, the trail, or their own car. It's really important to have some sense of direction when traveling in the woods.

I’ve followed your videos for a year or so now. I had some crazy ideas about what could have happened to these missing people from Bigfoot to aliens? But I actually think there is a number of serial killers walking on these trails. But then again there’s no sign or evidence of the missing person at all which blows my mind! A girl went missing here in Montana on a trail this month. She was attempting to summit a mountain and no one has seen her since. They found her tent and belongings at a lake near by. Super sad. 😢

We live in the wilderness. If we’re going anywhere beyond the Island, we are always armed to take down anything and everything. I can’t wrap my head around the strange rules in these places.

That sign may be outdated. As of February 2010, you can open carry in national parks if state law where the park is located allows. Washington is an open carry state, and you can conceal carry with a permit.
I went on one hiking trip in this area many years ago. I'm not intimately familiar with the area and hiked with a friend who was more so. We went in early June and there was still large, deep patches of snow covering some parts of the trail. These snow piles can obscure the trail and make it impossible to see where the trail continues because of their height and distance. I remember this vividly because at one point my friend and I took a very unsafe route around the side of one of these snow piles that was covering the path on the side of a several hundred foot slope into a jagged boulder field. I had to cross behind her and keep my balance in her steps by plunging my arms into the snow .. (which in hindsight could have also ended badly if my arms broke off the snow I was standing on). Suffice to say I never went hiking with this lady again.
I always hike alone without telling anyone where I’m going and I never carry a personal locater beacon, fight me That being said I always have water filtration, extra food, emergency supplies, head lamp, battery bank for phone, and a gps with route tracing capabilities

Wow! Being the searchers never found one clue, I’m speculating if he ever made it past his vehicle and was abducted? Someone else may have been there parked also or watching for a persons arrival? However sounds far fetched, but possible. Are there any caves in that area? Avalanche is definitely a possibility.
The weather we had at the end of June of 107 degrees here in Washington melted the snow in a hurry so if it was a avalanche they might find him soon...Sad story.
Scree is easy to loose ones footing on, and a 2900 ft change in elevation is a pretty decent amount. All it takes is enough altitude sickness to make your head cloudy and confuse you a little, and you can turn the wrong way or slip and fall, and land far far away from the point you fell from

I’ve followed your videos for a year or so now. I had some crazy ideas about what could have happened to these missing people from Bigfoot to aliens? But I actually think there is a number of serial killers walking on these trails. But then again there’s no sign or evidence of the missing person at all which blows my mind! Keep the video coming rusty I love them!

A girl went missing here in Montana on a trail this month. She was attempting to summit a mountain and no one has seen her since. They found her tent and belongings at a lake near by. Super sad. 😢

Yes. I felt that the buddy was way too cozy with the wife, and she didn’t seem to be grieving, although people do grieve differently. I hope police are investigating ALL possibilities.

Sounds like these people pretty much have it figured out. The only thing they haven't revealed is where they hid the body.
It’s ridiculous for a wilderness area to prohibit firearms.
If anywhere you may need one is in the wilderness for four and two legged predators.
We live in the wilderness. If we’re going anywhere beyond the Island, we are always armed to take down anything and everything. I can’t wrap my head around the strange rules in these places.
As if one ought to obey that .... follow the spirit of the law, don't use any firearm out there for any reason unless you could in court, prove dire mortal danger, and pay the fines.

That sign may be outdated. As of February 2010, you can open carry in national parks if state law where the park is located allows. Washington is an open carry state, and you can conceal carry with a permit.

I went on one hiking trip in this area many years ago. I'm not intimately familiar with the area and hiked with a friend who was more so. We went in early June and there was still large, deep patches of snow covering some parts of the trail. These snow piles can obscure the trail and make it impossible to see where the trail continues because of their height and distance.
I remember this vividly because at one point my friend and I took a very unsafe route around the side of one of these snow piles that was covering the path on the side of a several hundred foot slope into a jagged boulder field. I had to cross behind her and keep my balance in her steps by plunging my arms into the snow .. (which in hindsight could have also ended badly if my arms broke off the snow I was standing on). Suffice to say I never went hiking with this lady again.

That being said I always have water filtration, extra food, emergency supplies, head lamp, battery bank for phone, and a gps with route tracing capabilities

Washington got a LOT of late snow this year. I was running into blocked roads in late June in southern Washington below the 4000 ft level!

Wow! Being the searchers never found one clue, I’m speculating if he ever made it past his vehicle and was abducted? Someone else may have been there parked also or watching for a persons arrival? However sounds far fetched, but possible.

Scree is easy to loose ones footing on, and a 2900 ft change in elevation is a pretty decent amount. All it takes is enough altitude sickness to make your head cloudy and confuse you a little, and you can turn the wrong way or slip and fall, and land far far away from the point you fell from
