I don't think he'd have left his dog shut in the car if he'd intended to disappear...
A dog owner in his right mind wouldn't leave his dog locked in a car. Perhaps he had a stroke or sum other sudden dimensia set in .. abducted by "un-known" entities? Skin-w**kers
When I heard his dog was locked in the car I felt same way!!!! There's no way that man would leave his dog and go hiking. Makes you wonder if he actually made it to go hiking. Something happened before that???
@@lindamoser6317 Thats just what I thought Linda.
@@TheWatanna yeah really!! You even have to wonder....did he take his dog with him hiking, came back, put everything in car and something happened??? Wouldn't u love to be an investigator???
@@lindamoser6317 My thoughts also.
Why would you go on a hike and leave your dog and keys in the car ? That doesn’t make any sense to me , no matter what angle I look at that from . I can’t imagine anyone as a rational explanation for that
They think their going for a quick hike I guess.
Eric M yeah but maybe it’s just me but I’ve never left my keys in a vehicle and I don’t see why u would bring a dog and leave in car ? I’m not a dog owner but surely you’d take the dog on the walk . It’s all odd , I wonder if he has disappeared on purpose
@@EdgeOfNowhere2024 yea good point..it almost seem like either kidnapped right after exiting the vehicle therefore leaving personal items and dog or voluntarily left. Strange indeed
Lone Pine what if he was taken for harvesting or something like that?
@@EdgeOfNowhere2024 Is it possible he stepped out to take a bathroom break? Or check msp, stretch legs, and was abducted. ????
Mr. West!! Great to hear from you as always!
Glad to see yah again Rusty. Hello from Vancouver Canada.
You're Cananadian, eh...?
Blessèd be...

Dog & keys in the vehicle. He wasn't planning on returning from this hike. If he takes the dog with him & he ends life, the dog is left to roam no food and the possibility of being attacked by a predator. He didn't want his dog harmed or to suffer. He may have thought the dog would be found safe, and his car could be moved easily by leaving the keys.
Maybe some devastating medical diagnosis where he would
be a burden to loved ones. So he decides he'd rather go out in nature than in a hospital 2yrs later.
I don't know, it just feels like that to me. Still sad for the family.
@Malcolm Coderre In reading other comments so many say he wouldn't have left his dog in the car. At first I thought the same thing. But having researched the details myself it was reported the dog and keys were in the UN-locked car. Easy for a good samaritan pet owner or park officials to open the door and tend to the dog.
He was first seen @ 2:30 by park staff heading to the Highline Trail. After hearing about search efforts the following day two hikers came forward with information saying they had seen Mark in the early evening of the 8th between Haystack Butte and Granite Park Chalet on the Highline Trail. So we know nothing happened to him in the parking lot, and he did indeed intentionally leave old Spot in the car. He also made it out into the wilderness quite a distance, Haystack Butte is 2.5mi in and Granite Park Chalet is @ 7.6mi since he was spotted between those two places we could easily estimate he was about 4-5mi in by this time. Then I uncovered a little known detail about Mark. Earlier during the summer Mark had worked for Glacier National Park. Did he have knowledge of some area off trail where he would not be able to be found? IMO being seen by the hikers some distance along the route and even if his time working with the park wasn't very long it does add another aspect to this case.
But why taking the dog with him in the first place?
@@lucyfer9829
He lived alone, leaving the dog at home could take days or even longer before being discovered.
I'm thinking along the same lines as you...
I think when he first got there something got his attention. In response he gets out. Unsure of the situation Good or bad decision leaves his keys in the car.... Situations in life change in a instant.
Up late, can’t sleep, and you save the night again 🙌

New R.W video notification received. Immediately drop what I'm doing and give my undivided attention to the man, the myth, and legend, Mr. Rusty West!
!Absolutely
I do the same lol
So glad to see you back with a new case study. You do a superb job telling us his story.🙂
Absolutely. I lay in bed and listen ,examine all possibilities. I am not by no means being disrespectful to all or to RW. I understand our eagerness to hear his reports, his analysis, I am only desiring all to please remember those who have have been killed by accidents, murder even. To think of the wives, mothers families. I have been stalked by serial killer, could of ended up gone. RW could be doing a story on any of us. I am 64, live in Alaska,1000000s miles of land that goes to space. And I will be darned if for about a month a mountain man serial killer came out of woods ,np kand land! 40 below and tried to break in my cabin, follow me ,throw hatchet at me ,which I closed door in time and it stuck....I have trained serious k9s for police, home protection . I had a German shepherd yet as crazy as it sounds with his strides around my cabin. And other canines,we could not track him. He actually travelled tree to tree. I moved closer to town, told young girl block from me. She had 5 yr old blonde girl. Troppers, canines unable to find him . 2 weeks after I left my beautiful serene cabin ,Fairbanks, Alaska, the blonde girl 20s, and her girl were found miles up a mountain, thru snow and again 40 below.....mom was quartered. Little girl was in trees ,dead. But it took weeks to find her. Never got the man.
This is gruesome, this is why I am expressing yes we are excited to hear RW,his calm voice, his dictation, but the reality is the lives. It's safe to say ,sure animals, sasquatch, dm,large birds. Yet these missing have a sinister side. Creatures do know of weather changes. does that drive them to get food? Sure. So ,a combined assaults are happening.
This is what I meant by ,greeting RW. I started to notice it was more about him, then what he was expressing. Helping us,to help others to be aware of all around us.
I hope this clarifies what I was trying to say. I listen to him every night. We need his unbiased counsel. Let us think of the families. What a horrible thing,to lose one. Not knowing . No closure. I really cannot think of anything more heart wrenching. The sting of death.
Ty,and sincerely, from Alaska,I too am an avid hiker, hunter ,Fishing woman. But always watching my peripheral and back. How sad, that to hike and find danger lurking. Truly messed up.
To all, sincerely, Colleen ... In the Great Alone, where the icy mountains hold you in.
@@colleenblackwater4792 Wow! Sending good thoughts & best wishes your way
To leave his dog and affects in his car makes no sense if he went on a hike. Being an avid hiker, preparation is always key. Maybe he did this on purpose to look as if he went on hike. Leaving his dog and affects in his car unlocked so others would find the dog sooner than if he left it at home. Then he could disappear, people could find his dog, believing he went missing in the park. Then he could slip away into obscurity. Just a thought. I would hate to think someone had so much life to run away from and leaving his buddy behind. Either way, it’s sad.
Only an idiot would leave his dog in the car.
If he was planning to disappear but did not want the dog lost in the wilderness, I think he would have left the dog at home or at a kennel. So I think the dog being left in the car is a possible sign he did not intend to disappear.
@@meganlangreck2488 so car was unlocked? dog did not bark to be let out all night?
We've missed you, Rusty. So glad you're back with another interesting case.

I don't believe he would have gone far with his dog in car. No family was mentioned or close friends??
If he wanted to disappear why would he leave his dog?
sounds a bit senile. he looks much older than age given.
Hello Rusty . 👍❤️ love your videos.
I thought that rusty west got abducted.
Lol 😆
He might have got eaten by a BEAR Glacier park is a dangerous park if you don't know what you are doing.
he got out on bail. he was/is the main suspect in several abductions
SNOOP U 2 ,l
SNOOP U 2 where he is hiking is lush with griz. I’ve lived here all my life and literally saw 3 grizzly just yesterday
Awesome video!!! Poor guy, thanks for bringing attention to these cases like this. I hope everything is going well for you! 🤘🤘🤘
I was in the park when this happened, it was insane how hard it was to find anything about the case even locally and it was literally like he just disappeared. Definitely a hard trail to just go missing on with not one clue popping up or not one person noticing him going off trail either.
if his dog and car keys was still with the car he would not have gone far from it?
A man who leaves his dog inside a car in a hot day of July does not deserve to be found. Good riddance, Nature !
Unless it was a short trip to a bathroom I’d never ever would left my pet in a car. And even then I’d leave the windows partly opened with plenty of water around just in case something bad happens to me even in those 5 mins bathroom trip. This man is not a caring person in my books.
@@breadandcircus1 he got abducted while he was going to leave the dog for a few minutes..... A invisible monster...
Andres Patino Other disappearances in a parking lot just like this lend me to believe there are supernatural forces at play. David Paulides had a case of a dog in the car, car keys, etc all in the car, but no man to be found.
@knine1833 I agree, I think he chose to "disappear", leaving his dog so it would be found. I thought it was a bit strange that there weren't any comments from family or anything, maybe he just had enough of life and wanted to go out doing what he enjoys.
Excellent delivery, as usual. Love all the information about the park and trails. Thanks.
Thanks for covering these cases Rusty! I love your channel! 💖

SO GOOD TO HEAR YOUR VOICE RUSTY!
another XLNT video, as always from you. I truly believe that that this mystery begins at his car. Anyone who loves their dog would either leave it safe at home, or plan on taking it on their hike. July is too hot to leave a dog in a car for even 5 min. I surely Pray that this can be solved as his family needs closure :(
So sad I never new how many people go missing every year. Thanks for your show hopefully someone will see these and find someone alive or recovery the bodies. I did subscribe and turned on notifications. Thank you again

Hi just discovered your site your videos are so interesting. You are doing a great service, I will follow you from now on. Thank You
I wonder how many people disappear in national parks because they didn't know which way they were going
Probably something like 20-40%, possibly lower. It sounds to me like you want to believe a paranormal aspect to these cases is rare if it exists at all. You are either committing wishful thinking or trying to support a personal bias it sounds like.
There are multiple disturbing factors that make these cases not explainable besides the fact that scents not picked up by scent dogs and helicopters using IR not finding anything.
You have classic bigfoot creatures, subterrranean creatures (a very scary one as I've been stalked by one once - these are hairless and possess reflective eyes), and the Predator optic camo mentioned by Dave Paulides in the Lima, OH incident which appeared to be a non-bipedal entity but a older video exists of this being possessed by a bipedal creature too.
You also seem to have an insanity aspect as well, something that causes people to do things that are out of character or not ratuonal or sensible. (A good example being from The Hunted the guy who had the radio with gps and he walked right past his intended destination (think name was Chris Hawkins or something) among other bizarre behaviors. Another example being the missing guy who was located and seemed okay despite missing his shoes and when they got him close to being out of the wilderness, he turned around and ran back into and away from being rescued.
@@shamanik1320 😎👍 I'm with you, buddy. I'm thinking this same like you. 👌💯 The overwhelming evidence is undeniable. How someone can say thesd cases are some person just went the wrong direction? How closed the mind must be for that. Sorry for my English. I'm from India. 😉😎👍👍👍👍
@@shamanik1320 there was no such wishful thinking comment from OP. After your fake 20-40% statistic, YOU then spewed off things you wish are true or want to believe is true...
Flat out answer... ALOT
Mr. David Paulides says quite passionately and factually according to evidence he has compiled that people becoming lost is low percentage and that majority of cases have a very strange ocurrence.
No one could deliver this content like Rusty. One of a kind. Keep up the gr8 work Rusty, till they give u a tv show. :)
The fact it has now been determined to be happening in urban areas brings a lot more mystery to the disappearances.
glacier national park, a job for author of 411. Many missing ppl.
His name is David Paulide. He has a new book called Missing 411 Montana.
So happy hear your voice. Love your videos.❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Rusty. I enjoy your videos!
I think he was taken from the parking lot or near by. He wouldn't have left keys and the dog in the car together. I think the ID was a mistake. He just left too much in the car, don't you guys think so? It really doesn't make sense. Very sad.
I can see not wanting to bring the dog due wildlife but who leaves keys and ID? Also, were the keys on to have the AC on for the dog? Were the windows cracked? That would give a glimpse into his mindset of time.
Thank you so much for posting again.
You remind me so much of Mort Rainey in Secret Window. 😉
Good to hear from you again.
Welcome back Rusty, hope you had a nice vacation. About this missing person, I know anything is possible but it looks like he may have went for a walk of no return, due to the evidence left behind. I think some people can say he left his dog in the car and it was cruel, he left it where it could be found safe from predators. He knew the Rangers check parked vehicles in the park, and people that commit suicide are not thinking straight. Which ever way it has gone, the outlook is not good. I feel for the family and friends, so sorry for your loss. Thank you for this information Rusty

I would never leave my keys or especially my dog in a car and go hiking. Did he leave food and water in the car for the dog indicating he was going to be away for awhile? I think he never made it on the trail and he was met with foul play.
Great to see your back rusty! Have left a few comments asking??

The notorious section of the trail that hugs a sheer drop is honestly not that bad. That whole hike is absolutely glorious. ❤
Thanks for providing a description of the Park. I live in the UK and have no knowledge of this area. 👍🏻
Hello Rusty glad to hear from u again
Very good synopsis and theories Rusty. You spoke a sobering, thoughtful and very realistic story about Mr. Sinclair. It’s true, some people whether of a clear conscience or of a troubled state of mind decide to walk away from their life. Or is it another frightening missing persons case akin to the 411 series? I think you touched on that solidly. Great documentary.
Pets are not allowed on the trail. So he had to leave his dog if he wanted to hike.
good point!
