everybody that thought it was a great chassis should check out JJ's video of it burnt up , lots of tack welds & missed welds around the halo bar ,probably better it burnt up (sad too) then failed in a crash !
I was thinking the same thing. If y'all don't know what he's talking about go watch JJ's video titled JJ da boss what happened. It clearly shows oversized gaps in the halo , that would NEVER be acceptable in a certified chassis. Hell they had the roof cut off , why didn't they even try to gorilla weld those gaps before they welded the top back on ??????

Well hot rodding spawned drag racing. So just like how back in the day there was janitors but now they are custodial engineers. So by using hot rod instead of drag car he's just one of the few people left with propper knowledge and vernacular. 😆
@@SketchysGarage hell my "hot rod" reply got posted under a different comment than i meant to. Guy it was meant for said he likes the fact JJ calls his cars hot rods. But oh well. Catching some love either way, wether it makes sense or not.
It's there for everyone to see now, all the unfinished welds on the trucks chassis and roll cage after everything burned off it. See it clear as day in JJ's video. You should not be allowed to build cars if you allow that shit quality. If he rolled that you would have been fucked.
That is a really cool video... do more of them, but longer... and see if you can get a builder to explain like one thing in each video.... grow your audience by making it easier for newcomers to start understanding what they are seeing. This is inherently exciting stuff, but damn it’s hard for someone to break into from the outside.
@@sillyguy9828 Because I can't stand someone who runs their mouth when they know it's bullshit. J.J. says they raced like that back in the day. And when he says they're at a disadvantage because they put small tires on their tubbed out, tube chassis big tire cars it makes me want to puke. I have seen them race in person several times.
Yes, this is a fresh new truck top to bottom. It had a small block with a procharger at first but it kept having alot of issues now it's got a 632 BBC nitrous motor! It's still 4720 lbs.😂
@@Joetrout He still runs it, the new ole heavy has only been out a few times. I think he intends to use one for the show and one for his arm drop races.
Its gonna weigh more than a stock 3100 🤷♂️ People tend to think builds like this are light because there's no interior etc. But you've got an all steel body sitting on a chromoly chassis with probably 2-3x the mass of the stock frame. Plus the small block, big procharger, saftey equipment, electronics, intercooler and hardware, etc. etc. etc. I wouldn't be surprised if Ole heavy weighs atleast 250-300 pounds more than a stock 3100.
Why does it matter who built that chassis. Ford guy mopar guy chevy guy who cares its a chassis. All that matters is they know how to weld and they know how to make it safe.
Wow, All you hear JJ The Boss say is hes a street racer. Nothing about that truck is street. Where did the days go when you were out cruising and went to a road out of town and ran what you were cruising in with your girl.
As in any form of sports there is different levels competition, Ole Heavy is definitely not a streetcar but he's not out there picking on cars that are at a lower level than him. I hope this makes sense.
This truck the New Ole heavy had a procharged small block to start off with. They keep having problems with getting it lined out so they decided to go to a 632 nitrous combo.
No disrespect intended but what you have here is a full blown race truck not a street driven backed half street car. When you race at airports or anywhere closed down under controlled circumstances it's not street racing.
I like JJ, but how can he say that is a "REAL" street car and he going old school? Just cause they put small tires on? REAL old schoolers have real frames just re-enforced.
This is pretty much the norm of all the street outlaw cars. When he refers to be Real street he referring that they run on unprepped streets with no glue on the starting line and water burnout only.
No, it would more be considered a top sportsman style build. A pro mod would have alot more x's and gussets in the chassis and would have a alternate wheelbase with alot of body mods. Do you think a video of showing the differences between a pro mod and most of the street outlaw style cars would help everyone understand the difference.
Sketchy's Garage i think they think just because its heavily modified “its a pro mod!” Like they keep giving kye kelly shit about his “its a pro mod” its basically a older top sportsman chassis
