So lot many times people think that when we talk about lax or lose vagina the only problem patient is having is some disturbance in their sexual , sexual dissatisfaction but that's not true. Lax vagina can come with lot of other problems. There can be vaginal dryness there can be continuous vaginal itching which becomes a source for vaginal infection. It can also be associated with urinary incontinence. So there are many factors which comes into action. when there's a Lax vagina. Now how we do laser vaginoplasty. That is basically what happens is we are causing heat. We are heating up the superficial mucosal layer which causes a shrinkage which gives a sense of tightening. Along with that is a neovascularizing action and there's increased collagen synthesis which leads to the vaginal mucosal layer to be more better with blood supply more collagen synthesis and of course it causes a tightening effect coming to a lot many people ask post procedure also how to take care. So there's no downtime. It's a laser vaginoplasty that we do. So the patient can resume their normal activities. However what we doing with laser vaginoplasty is creating micro injury. So we ask you to avoid intercourse for 3 to 5 days and avoid swimming and these public areas from where you can get infection for again 5 to 7 days. So the right age. Lot many patients who come to me are menopausal.The reason is they have already had previous normal deliveries. So they do have lax vagina. Along with that because of menopause the hormones are down. So ofcourse the vaginal itching the vaginal dryness is also there. So they want a solution for that as well. But yeah these days we are seeing that lot of women mid-30s or 40s are also coming for the same procedure and they happy doing a laser vaginoplasty.
