I have been banned from TikTok 4 times. Before, when I was left leaning, my page almost had 75,000 followers. The minute I started becoming right leaning…. I started getting shadow banned & then my page got taken down. People seem to forget we are even more so being controlled on TikTok & on top of that TikTok has TikTok shop & now has our credit card info, addresses, etc etc. TikTok should be American, at the very least.

Women have a special kind of love, perspective, ability to birth children, ability to RAISE children, better attention to detail (clinically proven).. I can go on. After witnessing my wife go through child birthing from conception to birth, it shows women are the stronger side of our species, plain & simple. For every mindless video/post on social media, there is one thought-provoking one that starts conversations and spreads awareness and curiosity to do more research. I don't think tiktok/social media is inherently bad, but I do think that people should be taught better critical thinking skills so that they can use it properly and also be able to recognize propaganda.

I have been confused for years, making myself uncomfortable for the sake of making other comfortable, by listening to narratives that the mainstream has been telling us. The main problem of TikTok is the format: short videos. This is a tool for suggestions and manipulations, it is not a real representation of reality, there is no time for analysis, and there is no debate (it happens here in CZcams, with video reactions). TikTok is the perfect tool for propagandists and narcissists, to groom and gaslight the new generations.
Do we need to forbid it? I don't think so, because the access to this platform is freedom. If this app is loved by GenZ then the problem is GenZ, we should ask ourselves why this happens, why all other better options are not that popular.

Why can’t everyone just shift to non-Chinese based platform? This sounds like a smokescreen against free speech. I thought one principle that unites all Americans was freedom of speech. I'm Vietnamese, I think y'll should accept the ban on tiktok no matter how much you like entertainment and what mistakes the government has made. I see that China is more cunning than you think and they know how to silently manipulate from afar. Their technology threatens to monitor and take data everywhere. Even their own countries ban many things and are very strict about preserving them for their country or the government.

I've come to the conclusion that it is the women who have been afraid or concerned about what to say or not say...are the very women I want to hear. Just the fact that they are/have been "careful" with how they express themselves tells me they are generally respectable kind people. And their voices have been squashed. Their voices need to be heard now.

I started watching your videos because I felt you were a smart woman, and held a lot of the same views that I held. You are younger than I am so I imagine you were not affected by the bombing of the world trade center. As a native New Yorker the thing that affected me the most was walking up first avenue near most of our hospitals and seeing thousands of flyers made by families of people that they were unable to find. This went on for many blocks. This was one of the saddest thing I had ever seen. flyers with pictures of people with their families, or in happy groups that you knew were more than likely under many tons of rubble. Blocks and blocks of these flyers. These were not people who worked for the government or the military. Just regular office workers. I actually had tears in my eyes as I walked. I myself had worked years before in the trade center. Also, for weeks I had to show ID to enter my neighborhood, since I lived in lower Manhattan. I could see the smoke and smelled the horrible smell for months from my window. The smell was a stench of jet fuel plastic and death.
What ever bin laden felt about Israel, he is an evil person for unleashing such devastation over three thousand innocent working people and many first responders of New York. And the apologists for him and his ilk are ignorant or just evil, whether they are from the left or right. I know that the US is not perfect, but I fear what would happen if we ever had a war. These "useful idiots", brainwashed by social media would be the end of us all.

Its all kinds of regular people sharing content, voicing their opinion, making recipes, sharing their businesses, baking bread, showing their hobbies and art. Odviously its an algorithm, but my feed is full of positivity and art and buisnesses and cool people. They just want to control the narrative and they can't do it on tiktok.
My God, teenage just commit suicide because of this app. I understand the censorship aspect of it, but to say it's a really good app and completely ignore all that all the harm it's done to children and teenagers is insanity. Obviously, your algorithm isn't showing you the dark side of TikTok.

Kids are going to get access to TikTok no matter the restrictions parents try to put on their kids phones, or even if they don't have a device, they have friends at school, they have people around them that are going to introduce them to this app. I agree other social media platforms are bad but tiktok is the WORST. It was created in 2016, since then it has infiltrated government businesses, schools, so on. Well it's had a good impact on small businesses, the bad is significantly more important. A lot of the propaganda originated from TikTok. We have a Mental health epidemic, don't ever doubt TikToks role in it. A lot of people are saying it's censorship in while I understand that aspect of it, I don't understand the aspect why we need it for "connection" and to "communicate". There are a whole bunch of other social media platforms to do the exact same thing.
I just want to touch a little bit more on it's the parents responsibility. A lot of parents, in fact majority parents, will allow their kids to sit on your iPad for endless hours without properly monitoring them properly. In fact I think gen z and gen alpha are a LOT smarter when it comes to devices. Like I said I'm not denying it's their responsibility but a lot of parents are not being responsible, I think you can imagine where that leads to for those children.

That’s interesting that you experienced 9/11 in that way. I remember exactly where I was too-at home because I’m on the west coast. I had been in New York a few months prior to so it felt even more surreal to me. But while my school talked about it a bit, there wasn’t a constant barrage about death toll or any of that. Nor do I remember a real attempt to get us to hate all Muslim people.

I think one of the biggest hidden dangers of TikTok is that it seems to have a very aggressive algorithm combined with a short video format. I have gone down the rabbit hole on CZcams before, but most of those videos were at least 10 minutes. It’s much easier and addictive to go down the rabbit hole with videos that last about 15 seconds. I push down the lever for the crack pellet at a ratio of like 1/40 and I end up landing on the weirdest and addictive content. Plus, I assume TikTok doesn’t help with attention span, narcissism, and plugging further into the Matrix using WiFi & cell data. Other social media aren’t very healthy, but I’ve seen more people doomscroll on TikTok than most other platforms at work almost non stop when they get breaks.
Please watch your back Candace, I applaud your courage, we need way more of it but powerful people don't like courageous people who expose them.

My parents grew up in Soviet Russia and don’t have a lot of pictures because most people didn’t have a camera in those days or they just didn’t take photos. It wasn’t a thing in the 60’s. I have only seen their baby and childhood pics a handful of times but they exist. Even if my grandparents when they were in their 20s. Again 1 or 2 of those exist but they do.
