This needs a spot that's "Nice person with evil friends". I swear in all of these videos there's someone completely baffled why their horrendous friends are so mean
Speaking from personal experience, asshole friends can see how nice a person is and think of how they can take advantage of one’s niceness for their personal gain without being upfront with their intentions. Like at the beginning of the video, notice how the friends also talking about how the main girl’s relationship benefits them instead of just being happy for her. And then in the next scene they’re leveraging their friendship to try and get boyfriends using her boyfriend as a connection. And of course the fact that the asshole boyfriend bought four tickets to the “BIGHIPHOPCONCERT” instead of just two for him and her.
I had a guy give me a drawing of a flower in high school... It just weirded me out as we never talked and I found out he gave a bunch of girls these drawings
them having a “”romantic”” conversation where he’s giving her gifts in some random lobby in front of their bullies from high school is really sending me
To be fair, the "big hip hop concert" line and delivery has big "how do you do fellow kids" energy imo, which is fitting for his character looking like he's in his mid 30s and pretending to be a high schooler
Also like asking someone "You like rock?" Is such a broad question. :P like someone who likes the Beetles may not like Van Halen or Queen; all rock, all totally different. And my dad was definitely one of those guys, was not a fan of the latter two. :P
With the discussion of genres, I will just say the whole idea of it being uncool to be into rock and cool to be into hip-hop seems very weird and dated. Like half of the pop stars these days are singer songwriter dudes with guitars? Oh you like the Beatles, that must mean you like all rock music and don't like hip-hop.
Makes me think about shit I used to see online around a decade ago being like "95 percent of teens like rap music now, if you're part of the 5 percent who don't, put this in your profile"
With this move, and the roses, I'd be surprised if this guy ever walks around without something behind his back. Maybe he is actually a British soldier...
The boyfriend had the right to hate that guy but not for any of the reasons he did. This guy drew a special picture for his girlfriend, he invited his girlfriend specifically by name to his concert, and even had the nerve to announce and sing a love song dedicated to his girlfriend with him right there. He NEVER respected that she was in a relationship ever.
I draw things for friends, and they draw funny things and give them to me. And I invite friends to hang out at concert and establishments and vice versa. The line is crossed for me when he sings a freaking love song- it immediately turned everything from platonic and chill to trying to get someone else’s girl-

@@siouiouioui I think the kind of people you want to fit in with and have like you, and what you’re willing to ignore for that, says something significant about you. Like, it wouldn’t indicate you’re inherently bad and incapable of changing if you’re like that as a teen, obviously, but it’d still reflect your character at that time. Often times when teens are being peer pressured into something they’re uncomfortable with, actively rejecting the thing can give others in the group the opportunity or desire to do the same or cause them to think more about the consequences of their actions and change their minds. Most teens aren’t cartoon villains. The majority who do awful things are doing so to show off, look cool, or fit in; seeing others reject those awful things helps other teens feel more comfortable choosing not to engage with awful behaviour too since they won’t be the odd one out. If you know something is ethically wrong and/or dangerous then it’s definitely best to reject it even if there’s peer pressure present.
Sometimes nice people are friends or close to not nice people. Either because they've known them a long time and want to give them repeated second chances, or because they have low self esteem and are afraid of trying to make new friends, or because they feel sorry for them or want to see the best in them. or they are vulnerable in some way and get manipulated by them (and some people are really good at manipulating). I don’t get the weird lesson of this video because 1. Yes her bf is an a-hole but so is the skater guy kind of, for consistently hitting on that girl, who has a boyfriend, in front of her boyfriend, and the 2. The title makes no sense because she never actually rejects him and 3. Where was it established that she is a riCH gIrL? And also, why is the spoiled person who instantly regrets it in dhar Mann vídeos always the woman Edit: another thing I dont like about these dhar Mann lessons are that the surprise or the instant regret or karma of the rejected loser or low income person is that they eventually become really rich or really successful for an “in ur face moment”... Kind of feel like the lesson should be that in the end the wealth and success didn’t matter but I guess in the end it always does?
I mean the title is obviously senseless click bait. And the spoiled person in this very video who regrets it is a man, I feel like it happens plenty of times. Also besides the song he didn't really hit on her, I don't think, I mean giving a drawing or inviting someone to see you perform are things I've done with people I had no romantic intentions towards whatsoever. I'm not great with social stuff, tho, so idk. I think the broad lesson is ostensibly meant to be "pay attention to the small details." But the Dhar Man classic, which may or may not be intentional, is do good things because decent people always win, get rich, and get to have sex in the end. The most cynical read of that is that he's saying that the current system largely works and that long term success is a sign of moral character, but more likely I think it's being treated as more of a bribe, like heaven or karma: do good things because you'll get good things, or things Dhar perceives as good or thinks his audience will think is good like symbols of weath and "success." It's definitely still in the business-oriented entrepreneur inspo space, but I don't think it's quite as deep and existentially terrifying as something like Alux or hard line Objectivists. You could also read that the girl dating the guy is "good rewardable behavior," which I would normally hope is just bad writing, but knowing Dhar Man, It is also a common theme.
I'm willing to give Adam ("skater guy") some benefit of the doubt there for lacking tact because, well, he's an awkward teen and they tend to be clueless like that (like seriously, read the situation, kid - maybe bide your time a bit and give the girl your drawing when it's more private and she's _not_ surrounded by the people who consistently berate and bully you)
Her boyfriend gives you the creeps because he’s like 42 and all the staff that are 20 years younger just let him come meet this high schooler. Also her friends are like what!!!! Why would you want to date someone our age when Dave has a mortgage and 4 kids he’s so mature
That just reminds me of how people I knew in high school would brag about having adult boyfriends, like in their 20s. That’s not a mature man sis that’s a predator 😀
The person in chat who wrote “Hey Jude is really underground you wouldn’t know it.” literally expressed my feelings about that entire scene in one sentence. 😭😭😭😭
dying at the big hiphopconcert,, also paige's bf gives of major "older dude who preys on high school girls" vibes and i wish they stuck to an age range when casting teenagers, like either cast all 30 year olds or cast all teenagers
Sexism: It's not just the fact that he was saying you need a cool car to score with girls... He said "if you want to *score a hot girl like Paige* " _with her standing right there_ 😐
I know the friends and boyfriend are evil so you justify the lesson and everything...but I feel like the lesson is just "don't reject nice guys even if you already have a boyfriend"
You know what, these actors aren't even that bad. They're all just clearly cartoons. Like if you translated these performances to an animated format it would feel way more fitting. Of course, the story would still suck.
Dhar Mann: Quick! We need to establish our character likes rock! How do we do that? Writer: Uhm idfk I've already started writing so what if we just wait till it becomes relevant then just show her with some rock band shes into? Dhar: Perfect, but what band do we use? Maybe something new or lesser known to show how much she listens to? Writer: Nah... I was thinking we could just use *the most popular band of all time* to distinguish her Dhar: Great! Send it, Dhar Fam!
It’s a common bad writing trope: we want to write a “quirky” character so they like rock music and books so since we don’t listen to niche alt rock music or niche books, how about we do the most popular ones and call it a day? I’m mentioning books because I’ve seen it with books too
@@SuzER08 Ngl thats pretty funny that his cover was so bad that DMCA struck him or they did it anyway because Im sure even with fair use, music is very picky (and that the editors didnt want to lose their money to the record label)
I feel like there should be one for "cartoonishly mean friends" - between the friends in the first one here and the friends in the one with becky and heather later in the stream, sometimes the friends of the "main character" are just so unrealistically mean for literally no reason.
I love Dhar Mann Bingo, but it really shows how much of a hustler Dhar Mann really is. Plugging in his merch, having his catchphrase to plug into every single video, working with whatever bad props he has (including his cars). I can only dream to have his hustle.
This was so interesting to watch live, can I just point out that this girl didn't even reject this guy. Also this video was pretty angering in multiple different ways. The bighiphopconcert made my freaking day lol
It isn’t exactly rejecting someone when you’re in a relationship. Like it is but your asking them to betray there partner or “upgrade”. Even if you think they should break up that’s separate they can break up with there partner without immediately getting with you.
That skater boy video is so odd and probably one of the most weirdly misogynistic videos dhar mann has made. When the ex-boyfriend treats paige like shit and says that you need to have a nice car to win over a hot babe like her thats treated as a complete shallow and asshole thing to do but when the "nice skater boy" says the same thing and treats page and the ex's new girlfriend in the same shallow way hes in the right and justified? Also he tries to court page over when shes already in a relationship which is very creepy. Page herself also never talked to her ex about her not liking hiphop or whatever other "vain things" her boyfriend or friends like so how is he supposed to know that she doesnt like hiphop if she doesnt tell him. The friends feel like some sort of weird strawman in a "im not like other girls" story. Page doesnt get a personality outside of passively not liking her boyfriend and passively pining for this other guy and is basically treated like an object. Also that jarring moment where theres weird stock music playing over the skater boy was originally him singing a 2000s pop rock song I cant remember the name of extremely off key.
What was the conflict, though? Girl doesn't like her boyfriend but likes other boy. She had no ties to the former. What was the conflict? What was the lesson, too? Be nice to """""losers""""" and you'll get rewarded with money and fame? I'm so confused
The lesson was to pay attention to the little details about the people you care about and be a nice person rather than just relying on being rich, having a nice car and buying people generic roses.
It's 12 years after the _end_ of that decade (meaning 22 years after the start) and we still haven't come to an agreement on what to call it - all that "aughties/naughties" stuff is just cringey. At this point it's too late and there will never be an actual consensus.

Giving me real reversed Teenage Dirtbag vibes "I've got two tickets to Iron Maiden, baby. Come with me Friday, don't say 'maybe'. I'm just a Teenage Dirtbag, baby, like you"
Sidebar: Sk8er Boi the song is not the flex Avril Lavigne thought it was. She’s singing a song about her boyfriend’s ex-crush (not ex, they never dated) that he wrote with her. That’s a red flag.
@@mlpdisneylover it’s not how it went down in real life, it’s just the story of the song. If my partner asked me to sing a song about a girl (Who has a baby and is possibly in a committed relationship) he didn’t even date, I’d be a little pissed.
This is the kind of "After-school special shit" that we had to watch in the '80's and '90's. (I lived it, lol.) Was wondering if we learned this lesson 20 years ago with Avril Lavigne ( or was Dhar Mann just simply nostalgic when he wrote this?)

Clearly she's rich if she "supported" him while he was a nobody musician
There are a few spoiled male characters too? They're usually played by Ayden Mekus or Devon Wheetly.
This is the best comment
Even if she was in college I'd still be concerned that someone's dad is just hooking up with a near child and I say that as a woman into Daddies.
When i turned 18 my dad was like "i can't check out college girls anymore because they're your age and thats weird"
Edit: im 21 and hes 42
@@kaylamarie6878 yeah it was weird the whole time what a creepy thing to say
That just reminds me of how people I knew in high school would brag about having adult boyfriends, like in their 20s. That’s not a mature man sis that’s a predator 😀
The person in chat who wrote “Hey Jude is really underground you wouldn’t know it.” literally expressed my feelings about that entire scene in one sentence. 😭😭😭😭
"I got us four front row tickets to the big hip hop concert" that was so generically spoken 🤣🤣
Dhar Mann could've threw out some hip-hop artist names for that concert. Wait, I think that Drake's name is mentioned.
@@COSun25 The bighiphopconcert! lol
I'm right now remembering this lame ass line 🤣
I am absolutely dying laughing at the big…HIPHOPCONCERT
dying at the big hiphopconcert,, also paige's bf gives of major "older dude who preys on high school girls" vibes and i wish they stuck to an age range when casting teenagers, like either cast all 30 year olds or cast all teenagers
Sexism: It's not just the fact that he was saying you need a cool car to score with girls...
He said "if you want to *score a hot girl like Paige* " _with her standing right there_ 😐
The boyfriend delivered the line about the concert tickets the same way a game show host reveals the grand prize
Holy shit when Paige said "wait, this isn't the way to the concert", i immediatly got scared that the video was going to turn WAY darker
you guys, i got us all tickets to the big HIPHOPCONCERT
I like how this video is like "it's about the small things, not the big things", but also makes sure to point out the dude has a Rolls Royce now.
Bad writing be like
Everytime Rob reaches into his pockets i think he’s gonna pull out a weapon, this man is a menace
I’m glad skate culture is still alive as soon as Jarvis said clean wheels I went POSER
I like how their entire personality is she likes orchids and the beatles and he remembers that she likes them
I know the friends and boyfriend are evil so you justify the lesson and everything...but I feel like the lesson is just "don't reject nice guys even if you already have a boyfriend"
The lesson is that he was a boy, she was a girl. Can I make it any more obvious?

You know what, these actors aren't even that bad. They're all just clearly cartoons. Like if you translated these performances to an animated format it would feel way more fitting.
Of course, the story would still suck.
now i want dhar mann to make animated videos lol
Jarvis, I don’t think you understand how much your content helps people get through the week.
Agreed. Thank you

I hope y’all are feeling good more than you’re feeling bad x

He's not just telling stories, he's changing lives.
I was thinking we could just use *the most popular band of all time* to distinguish her
Dhar: Great! Send it, Dhar Fam!
lmao it's perfect
Wow she is so quirky
I wish it was Fall Out Boy
It’s a common bad writing trope: we want to write a “quirky” character so they like rock music and books so since we don’t listen to niche alt rock music or niche books, how about we do the most popular ones and call it a day? I’m mentioning books because I’ve seen it with books too
@@robfobjanstarthat would’ve been cool
Also I find it funny that he is “singing” yet the guitar is completely edited over his lines.
Dhar Mann editors we applaud you
Pretty sure they had to dub completely over the original sound for copyright reasons because he was playing and singing Hey Jude
@@SuzER08 Ngl thats pretty funny that his cover was so bad that DMCA struck him or they did it anyway because Im sure even with fair use, music is very picky (and that the editors didnt want to lose their money to the record label)
my favorite part of Hey Jude is the sick country rock guitar solo
I feel like there should be one for "cartoonishly mean friends" - between the friends in the first one here and the friends in the one with becky and heather later in the stream, sometimes the friends of the "main character" are just so unrealistically mean for literally no reason.
I love Dhar Mann Bingo, but it really shows how much of a hustler Dhar Mann really is. Plugging in his merch, having his catchphrase to plug into every single video, working with whatever bad props he has (including his cars). I can only dream to have his hustle.
He also makes, like, thousands of dollars a week on his videos alone, I’m sure. Lmao
It's not admirable lmao
This was so interesting to watch live, can I just point out that this girl didn't even reject this guy. Also this video was pretty angering in multiple different ways. The bighiphopconcert made my freaking day lol
It isn’t exactly rejecting someone when you’re in a relationship. Like it is but your asking them to betray there partner or “upgrade”. Even if you think they should break up that’s separate they can break up with there partner without immediately getting with you.
Their*, sorry I don't mean to be rude
The orchid girl’s acting is pretty good actually imo
She's 1 of my favorites from Dhar Mann's list of mid-tier to slight upper-tier actors.
She did alright except for that daydream sequence
She’s one of my fave Dhar Mann actors
"minority friends that are irrelevant to the plot" should be on the sheet. I noticed that in so many Dhar Mann videos
Also that jarring moment where theres weird stock music playing over the skater boy was originally him singing a 2000s pop rock song I cant remember the name of extremely off key.
jarvis getting physically enraged at forgetting the other dhar car is truly wholesome
Ikr! You love to see it.
losing my shit laughing at "i saw the beatles sticker on your fabric backpack"
jarvis reminding us how funny “tothehiphopconcert” is has to be my favorite thing 😭😭
Jarvis, as someone with ADHD, I really appreciate when you rewind. Helps me follow better.
Jarvis also has adhd so it probably helps him too
That rob guy(the actor) is 100% trolling and you cannot convince me otherwise
I like how Jarvis goes from skater-shaming the poser skaterboy to saying he loves him and calling him a king in under a minute and a half lol
@@adaoraelliott9254 Ehh, I guess, but that's not the vibe I get, it feels more like an incel fantasy tbh.

THE BIG HIP HOP CONCERT
Sidebar: Sk8er Boi the song is not the flex Avril Lavigne thought it was. She’s singing a song about her boyfriend’s ex-crush (not ex, they never dated) that he wrote with her. That’s a red flag.
