IMHO the FOAK version is just too good and we are just spoiled brats. Both versions are extremely valuable.
Generally, the 2023 is probably of a better quality, but we are used to the 2020 version, and there are some aspects,
that we do expect from the "Swan Song", that is different or worse. #1 is the missing "Chopin intro". Missed opportunity,
as the Revolutionary Etude by Chopin was actually played before this song in the concert. It's also on the 2CD/DVD/Blu-ray.
It was just omitted for the official video. It worked well for FOAK, why is it missing on KAHG2? Bad decision...
#2 is, that the piano is to low in the mix. The forceful support of the last solo is gone. You can barely hear it!
#3 was a temporary thing for me: Miyako slows down the outro much more than in the FOAK version, which
is much faster and powerful. Didn't like that at the beginning, but now I think, it adds something to it. It's fine.
In total, I'm happy with both versions! (It's similar with "Liar": The whole song is much better now, but I still
prefer the former intro with the piano over the a cappella version.)
It's OK. This is Asami's best version of Swan Song. But most people love Swan Song for the piano and you just can't hear it like you can on the 2020 version.
Far from the best version concerning the piano: no piano introduction and a disastrous mix. Luckily the rest is just fine

Aussie Wolfpack here guys. The majority of us are warm and friendly, and it's frankly embarrassing to see the behaviour of a few boof heads, and at least one notorious troll. The troll frequently changes identity, and his hobby is stirring up trouble on Lovebites reactions, it must be a sad life!
Anyway, if you'd like to see Miyako's virtuosity on the keys, I suggest checking out her piano cover of Eagle Fly Free by Helloween. In fact, try a double reaction, starting with the whole band doing an in studio cover, so you are familiar with the song and the melody lines, then watch Miyako's extraordinary arrangement. She is truly one of the most talented musicians of our time. Link to the latter follows, I think there's only one version of the band's cover on You Tube. Cheers.

Asami has great stage presence and full control over her body as she's trained in both ballet and dance. That's why her moves are always so graceful and at times really add another layer to their performances.
We really enjoyed her work on this one. Amazing 😊

The 2020 version has the bonus of a Chopin etude as an intro too. Miyako is a concert-level pianist (she gave a recital in November). If you want to see that side of her, check out her piano rendition of Helloween's "Eagle Fly Free" (Make sure to check out the original and Lovebites' cover first).

Totally wrong live version guys. Watch the 'Five of a Kind' Live 2020. Swan Song with Chopin intro. That's the correct version if you want to listening to Miyako's piano playing.

Well I wouldn't go as far as to call it a bad video, as it was posted on the official Lovebites channel whereas the other video was not. However I have to agree you can hear the piano more clearly in the mix on the 2020 version.

Naah. It's Asami's ballet training background that makes her movements so graceful. They are an enigma. Ballet dancer/R&B singer with Muscle builder with classical pianist with manic drummer and bassist knocking out such great metal. 🤘🤘

Putting aside this version, I really appreciate your support to amazing Lovebites. I don’t know why the mixing in the DVD/Blue-ray of “Knocking at heaven’s gate” is not good. In some songs the audio level of guitars and piano is low. For more nice piano, I suggest “Epilogue”, “Empty daydream” ( both live, “Daughters of the dawn”, 2019) and “Edge of the world” (live, “Five of a kind”, 2020). You can also react to Miyako’s piano cover of Halloween’s “Eagle fly free” (MV on Lovebites CZcams official channel)

In my opinion, there is no "right" or "better" version, but they've sung it sometimes with a Chopin piano piece intro, which is valuable because that piece was used as inspiration for the song - so the guitar riffs contain elements that can be found at the Chopin intro. Anyway, it can be also seen a bit at the finale, when Miyako returns to the piano. That's it! Again, thanks for reacting - this band is a magical powermetal and trashmetal immersion with fenomenal quality.

Everyone, I think you all realize by now that the troll we all know is back in this comments section under a new trolling account because his previous one was banned/blocked. He persistently labels us Lovebites fans as so-called "cultists", but as evidenced in this entire comments section, we are the exact opposite ! Cult members blindly follow a "leader" and will not have any differences in opinion. The only common aspect amongst the Wolfpack is our love for Lovebites. Having said that, we're all individuals with our own opinions, preferences and tastes, and that sometimes leads to some "emotional" ( 😅 ) discussions. While this version is great, I suspect a lot of the recommendations were referring to the 2020 performance (Live in Tokyo 2020), which features an epic Chopin piano intro from Miyako. The piano is also crystal clear in the mix in that one!

In 1831, some officers and citizens rose up against the Polish government, which was under the de facto control of the Russian Empire, in what was called the "November Revolution" but ended in failure due to the direct intervention of Russian troops. Chopin received this news during a performance tour. He never set foot on the soil of his homeland again. When the Russians invaded Warsaw, Chopin's agent presented "Etude OP10, No. 12" in Paris. Because of the agent's exaggerated publicity, people called this piece "Revolutionary Etude.
Miyako composed "Swan Song" based on this "Revolutionary Etude" and Dvorak's "New World Symphony.
Asami (vocalist), a former ballerina, wrote the lyrics based on the historical background of "Revolutionary Etude" and inspired by Norse mythology and the ballet suite "Swan Lake.
"SwanSong" is a requiem dedicated to the warriors who fought to reclaim their homeland, a masterpiece that only LOVEBITES could complete.

This IS the best version IF you are interested in hearing how Asami has perfected the live vocal delivery of this song since 2020. That's saying a lot, since she did an excellent job then as well. Otherwise, the mix is better balanced in 2020.

You guys know that the ladies toured in England with Dragon Force prior to covid?
Miyako has released some video of her covering Metal Songs solo on the piano, worth checking out.
They wear white because they are very petite (4'9" to 5'2") ladies and with metal stages dark, white by reflecting the light let's them stand out on stage.

Even though Asami sounds amazing on this version, the reason we wanted you to see it was for the piano, and unfortunately they didn't highlight the piano in the mix on this version. The better version of this song is the one with the Chopin intro which DOES highlight the piano in the intro and the outro. I think I heard you call the bassist Miho, but this is the new bassist Fami. She really does smile all the time and is a boon to their stage presence. This is the first time I've heard this version. I don't think I've heard such poor mixing in their history as a band. That said I think people are being a bit harsh like you peed in their cheerios. The person they should be mad at is the person who gave you the link. There's no way you could have known it was "the wrong one".

The older live version has the Chopin intro and much better piano sound if you want to hear how well she actually plays. I'm not a fan of the live mix of this particular concert. She's also a great synthesizer player.

The piano is a Roland electronic Grand piano, so a super high end electric. The better version of this song is the version from the 5 of a kind show. The mix is better and she begins the song with a prelude piece, The Revolutionary Etude by Chopin.

Facts!
As many already have said, please also listen to the 2020 version, for your own sake. The etude in the beginning gives it another feeling entirely.

I've been reading loads of comments on various reactions to this version of "Swan Song". The first thing that bothers me is that the vast majority of commenters (we all know who the exceptions are) are merely expressing their honest opinion and are labeled haters. Isn't opinions and information what comments are all about? In all these cases it has absolutely nothing to do with the reactors and we're all just trying to pass along our knowledge.
I'm not knowledgeable on who decides which songs or videos are posted to the band's channel in CZcams - the artist, the record company, or another entity. Doesn't it seem that all this chatter that evolves into negativity could be avoided if the "powers that be" avoid posting more than one version of the same song? Why was "Swan Song" chosen to be posted again when there's already a wonderful version to be enjoyed? That other version has been called a masterpiece on many occasions. Wouldn't everyone be happier with official live videos of previously unavailable songs like "Soldier Stands Solitarily"? Nemophila is starting to get multiple versions of the same song too, like "Revive" and "Oiran", as is Band Maid ("No God" off the top of my head).
I try to enjoy them all, as well as the input from other fans, but this is making things difficult, you know?
Yeah there will always be different versions from different channels. Personally don't mind it as they aren't the same and it all goes off people's personal taste ☺️
It is a shame about the mix. The track is a masterpiece, but the sound guys fouled it all up(which is not acceptable and I'd be pissed if I spent the money on a BR of this,. because this isn't the only bad mix from the heaven's gate set.), nothing wrong with the performance of these women though.
Also, it is a piano.
We still enjoyed it. Looking forward to seeing the other version with the better mix 😊
Great song, too bad the sound producers messed up this Live show, hopefully they find new ones.

@@highlyreactivereactions Yes i recommend that version from ZEPP DIVERCITY TOKYO 2020 with the Chopin intro with Miyako on the piano, it's like night and day in sound quality, guitars are also more on point.
The mix is not the best in this concert. Lovebites is my favorite metal band.
Try my favorite hard rock band "The Warning" they are amazing.

versions of songs any group does change from stage to stage do not let the picky mother F%^&*$'s in the comments get you if they truly loved the band the version you show wouldn't f 'n matter to them . besides for new to the band people like you two the shock factor of seeing Miyako 💗 going to the piano ( she was a pianist first before teaching herself guitar as a challenge ) is worth it since she starts on piano in the other version so no surprise

You asked about the piano in a previous reaction. Several people decided to help you and strongly recommended that you check the 2020 version. They explained in detail why the 2020 version ('Swan Song' & 'Revolutionary Etude' by Chopin) is better, etc. But you chose 2023. Either you don’t read our comments or you don’t care about our advice. OK. I understood you perfectly. This means that there is no point in advising you anything anymore.
People make mistakes and we got confused with the link alot of reactors don't answer even look at comments. What you say is hurtful to how much effort we put in.

For god's sake. We told them not once, but several times, that this version was not correct, and what do they do? They go and screw up... Incredible... I can understand that it is their channel and they do what they want, but if they are not going to take people into account, then goodbye, nothing more to do here.
I think what you are saying is appalling. Many reactors or youtubers will not even look at your comments. We have done every song so far recommended. We make one mistake and people complain. We will be doing the other version.
