    Absolute excellent review for this car mate, makes a change to watch a review where you can see someone who can actually drive really well & also not destroy the best bits like exhaust note with overly loud ill fitting music, a defo thumbs up from me & i am gonna press the subscribe button.
    Great work on this & what a stunning looking car the new RS is, i am getting one soon, reckon I may go in the middle & choose the cup version over standard or trophy as like you said its a great chassis & i think the limited slip diff is essential if you want to get the full potential out of this car but also not too harsh so you end up at the chiropractor clinic every 2 weeks lol.
    Keep up the good work mate !!

      Rock Star No1 thank you so so much for the kind compliments :-) glad you get that from the review too.
      My race licence and championship wins are out to good use and someone can even see that ..... I’m genuinely really pleased anything mildly like that would shine through.
      Honestly thank you so so much for watching and subscribing, look forward to chatting again.
      We’re on loads of social network platforms including insta and Facebook so make sure you get in touch and shows us too when you get one, Cup version will be the great happy medium to have but still a beast :-)

    As a looking in (very satisfied) MK7 Golf R owner I must say that I don't understand why this car is not more popular. Great looks and engine and 4 wheel steer aided chassis and since when did Renault start producing classy interiors?.. It is a brilliant eye catching ultra rapid car that is even reasonably priced!.
    As for four wheel drive hatches being 'faster' in the wet let me tell you that that is 90% poppycock as a skilled committed driver in this car would leave an ordinary semi committed Joe in his four wheel drive hatch far behind even in the wet if wearing the right rubber especially.. It will always be relative to the driver. Fantastic car Renault. Respect.

    • @PeakPerformanceReviews
      @PeakPerformanceReviews  Před 2 lety +1

      If still say in most instances for most “general” drivers an AWD car will be quicker in the wet or on loose surface roads etc.
      A good chassis car (yes like this) would with the right driver no doubt still be better in every situation and I have seen it.
      Thanks for watching fella, glad you like the car, I’m with you on that no doubt.

    Nice vid and great review! Finally, one proper review for the cup chassis with manual transmission. One question, how does this one compares to the I30n performance? In my country they are almost the same price, the RS cup manual is only 1500 eur more than I30n performance. Those crack and bangs from the I30n are really mad, but you comparing this RS as close to the Type R, makes it better than the I30n. Thanks!

    • @PeakPerformanceReviews
      @PeakPerformanceReviews  Před 5 lety +1

      Jazztastic thank you so much for such lovely comments :-) :-)
      In this country with these options the i30n is around £10,000 cheaper and with that for value the i30n represents better value.
      We have our reviews of the i30n in both standard and performance pack guise and the’ll be on this channel soon.

    @fordyford Před 5 lety +1

    Nice review. Renault do make a nice hot hatch and in manual too. I wonder if we will get the manual in Australia. I'm pretty sure we only got the auto in the last generation. Is this the flagship Megane? 280hp is a lot off the Focus RS and Civic Type R etc if that's the competition.

    • @PeakPerformanceReviews
      @PeakPerformanceReviews  Před 5 lety +1

      Fordy Ford thank you so so much for the kind words it means a lot to me to hear people say things like this :-)
      At the moment it is flagship but in about 3-6 months the’ll be a trophy version which as sorts will be the flagship car in the range.

    • @PeakPerformanceReviews
      @PeakPerformanceReviews  Před 5 lety +1

      Fordy Ford out of this and the two you mentioned the Civic Type R feels considerably quicker in a straight line.

    • @johnboy2436
      @johnboy2436 Před 2 lety

      The 280 is 214BHP per ton and the Focus RS mk3 is 218 BHP per ton... There is nothing between them and the Megane RS trophy model will beat the RS just by abit in a rolling race. BHP isnt everything you have to consider weight.

      Aeron Jones thank you so so much for the kind words. My honest thinking brain says the sports for sure as less firm.... that being said honestly it’s not too much stiffer/harder of a ride in my opinion..... now understanding is your missus 😂👌😎❤️ ... I’d honestly go cup as it transforms the car for me. Still the base package is excellent and you’d be happy either way for sure.

      Hurricane ADG thank you so so much for the kind words make sure you subscribe and stick around as we do loads like this :-) :-)
      I’d say it’s not much different if anything the RS 265 feel more bumpy and less refined than this. This feels a little more mild mannered but hasn’t suffered in the handling stakes at all as it’s brilliant, feel free to ask more questions for sure :-) :-D

    • @hurricaneadg1264
      @hurricaneadg1264 Před 5 lety +2

      Thanks - am looking at buying an RS 280, but many reviews talk about how firm the ride is in the Cup version. Expect you would get used to it though. Nice to see a review where the car gets driven properly, rather than a lot of talk about specs, options, colours etc!

    • @PeakPerformanceReviews
      @PeakPerformanceReviews  Před 5 lety

      Hurricane ADG to be honest I’m used to fairly hard stiffly sprung cars being a racer and also being into very sporty cars and hot hatches so it’s never bothered me.
      That being said in my opinion it’s livable on this car, it’s certainly not super hard others wise I’d have mentioned it, I’d say go for it.
      It’s definitely a car you need to give a good drive out before you really get the most out of it then it’s amazing.
      Thank you so much for the kind words it really means a lot to me to hear people say things like that.
      To be honest that’s always how I review a car, don’t get to hung up on the tech spec as people can see this all on line or at the manufacturers web site.
      Where are you based? If you do get one be sure to let Renault UK know if I influenced a buy as it helps us a lot.
      We get no money but it has a great impact going forward with manufacturers.
      Thanks so much again and make sure you stick around :-)

      Actually I am in New Zealand, so not sure what impact I will have with Renault UK! The RS280 hasn't turned up here yet but will take one for a run - have always been a Renaultsport fan. Good luck with the channel. Haven't seen too many reviews of older hot hatches eg Mk5 GTis vs some of the new ones. Might be good to see how far the game has moved on in 10+ years?

    • @PeakPerformanceReviews
      @PeakPerformanceReviews  Před 4 lety

      what problem did you have with the FK8?

    • @bajerle
      @bajerle Před 4 lety

      Peak Performance Reviews gearbox died under 4kkm due to constant grinding. I drive manual sports cars for almost 20 years now and the lag this car has is not acceptable and honda forbids modifying it so they wait until the box dies and the tell you its your fault. Many small issues all around (bad quality), faulty brake pump, all in all 16 service visits in 8 months and no solutions. The second gearbox on a brand new clutch (which was complete waste of their money) was deteriorating as well. Very bad customer service, constant nagging and blaming the customer, banning to track the car, not helpful at all. I’m really happy i got a shitty slow renault right now... it hasn’t had any major issues after a season of tracking and 18kkm done.

    • @PeakPerformanceReviews
      @PeakPerformanceReviews  Před 4 lety

      @@bajerle oh damn really not heard of any other issues but maybe thats why they have chnaged some things on the gearbix on the soon to be facelifted one, how you finding the Meg? any trackdays in it or anything like that?

    • @bajerle
      @bajerle Před 4 lety

      @@PeakPerformanceReviews they did not - another rumour. Already checked the part numbers...

    • @bajerle
      @bajerle Před 4 lety

      @@PeakPerformanceReviews i tracked the meg the entire last season. The car has fully cancellable traction control and assist unlike the honda, mechanical handbrake, no rev limiters on stand still, no fuel cut off when left foot braking and much more (temp and all other gauges which are absent in the honda). I have had no issues with overheating (again, unlike the honda), it turns in better, has no no mechanical issues and delivers more fun when you push it to the limit. It's not a good daily driver, though (stiff, loud and unpractical at best). It also drinks fuel like a beast but who would even care about that.
