DJ Starscream has been with the band since their first album. You don’t always get to hear his stuff as much on a lot of songs, but he’s definitely been there from the beginning!
So, the reason their masks are displayed so prominently in this video is because it was the first single off their newest album, and they all had new masks. Many of them (Mick Thompson and Jim Root (guitars), Craig Jones (samples)) keep their masks similar from album to album, while others (Corey Taylor (vocals), Sid Wilson (DJ), Shawn "Clown" Crahan (percussion)) change it up. They also have some newer members in this lineup, so this was a bit of an unveiling.
Love your reactions so far. Definitely check out Psychosocial, Sulfur, Spit It Out (Live at Download Festival 2009) and Nero Forte. These are all songs that you will enjoy.

So, I am from Iowa and the opacity that you're talking about is various parts in Iowa. The first time that you see Corey Taylor with an image behind him, is actually the capital building in Des Moines, IA. Corn fields stadium seats and etc. I think they were just paying homage to us Iowans.

This was the first single for their new album and they got new masks so they released this song as a ''tease'' for the album and the new masks.
Don't know if someone commented this yet, I'm pretty late lol but this was the video that revealed their masks for this song's album, so that's the main focus of the video. All of the stuff behind them does have meaning to each member, but nobody really knows what. It's all specific to each person in the band
Also, you should check out "The Nameless" by them. It is my absolute favorite Slipknot song.
