I cried hearing that nobody was there for those human beings.
May their souls are at peace now. Thank you to the men who perform this services.
I cried too.
Very respectful service for those who remain unclaimed.
Thank you Reuben Houston for all what you do with so much respect ❤
This is a beautiful way for them to be honored. So many people loose touch with family or have out lived their next of kin.
This was such a touching story. What a compassionate man.
Respect and remembering those who have passed away . RIP🙏 thank you San Francisco for giving them a peaceful resting place!
City of Lost Souls;
Thank you for honoring them❤
This is a very sweet gesture ❤
Great story. RIP to those of whom have not been claimed. Let your soul rest easy.
~ I am Truly Touched.. thank you San Francisco~
Thank you 🌺
Unclaimed? I come from a very close community, so this concept of 'unclaimed' was never heard of. May their souls rest peacefully.
It can happen. People become estranged. My estranged mother died less than a month ago. We'd had no contact in over 30 years, and she'd legally changed her name. If she hadn't mentioned my name to a friend at some point, the medical examiner never would have tracked me down.
Beautiful. Thank you, KPIX, for the inspirational and loving story. I have know two women in my life who's parents didn't honor them even this much and kept others from doing so. For those of you who may feel sad for these unclaimed folks, please rest your souls in knowing that some families can be cruel and maybe sometimes it is best to go unclaimed and feel this unconditional love. Here's to those who love all and may all feel loved.
350 people a year? That is outrageous. We need to do better America! Where is the love?
If you really want to be outraged look at the number of unclaimed bodies nationwide each year.... up to 150,000 per year go unclaimed.
It's very difficult for a friend step forward and be accepted in helping. Friends have no standing. Next of Kin must be family.
i find it very telling that they removed my reply that stated up to 150000 people a year go unclaimed.. since when is youtube censoring facts?
That's a cool ride. Thanks for doing this.
🍀🍀🙏🙏👍👍🍀🍀Well done, San Francisco. Sometimes you get it right... whole lot of stories there..
Imagine dumping the bag and all that human dust gets on them...
This is a beautiful tribute for these, the unclaimed. They get to be put to rest in dignity. Amen.
We’re all just one generation away from obscurity.
Very sad to hear of this.
Nicely done 🤝
This is where all my family is resting it's a tradition. RIP to all the unclaimed
Thank you for being respectful, that’s class you can’t buy.
For y’all that think your life is hard watch this these people had nobody when they were alive till they did made cry n b thankful for my family
That will be me one day.
Me too
Thank you Ruben Houston for these monthly, sacred burials honoring the unclaimed who died in this fair city. It’s good to see you-we spoke last fall after my sister died. I was touched then by your compassion and care. I’m thankful Colma Cremation was recommended to us, your staff was exceptional. Thank you for caring, for giving, for being a bright light in the darkest of times. Ever grateful🙏💪❤️✨🕊🌎🙏
Terribly sad.... RIP!
everyone should have a respectful sendoff. GOD bless their souls and may they have eternal peace +
Omg I'd wear a mask.
Pretty much this is where I'm headed. Sure, I've got my electrical engineering degrees and bought a home in Silicon Valley - and that's absolutely great. However, I have no family at all - no parents, no siblings, no children, no close friends, and no love. If I were to disappear tomorrow only the bill collectors would notice.
you are a valuable human being, reach out to a neighbor or a new friend. Leave a will , maybe you want want to donate your organs to science
That is so sad..bless you❤
Yep.
That is a lot of unclaimed people. I wonder how many may have been in the system as missing persons. 😔
That looks peaceful. I think I’d like that.
yep, I want my bones to stay around.
Do they save a bit of the DNA just in case
These souls may have been forgotten here, but they have NEVER been forgotten in Heaven.
Is that what they do with all the human trafficking victims?
Victims of crimes? Homeless? Anyone else wondering why this city has so many “unclaimed” deceased persons?
OH YOU SHUT UP, DAISY THE TRUMPSTER FREAK!!!!!
Some are unknown.
A lot are not originally from San Francisco or California, a lot of people from across the USA that end up on hard times migrate west where winters aren’t as cold and no snow, over time they lose touch with family and friends
This city or the country? I remind you that the MAJORITY of homeless people came from OTHER STATES.
The entire country likes to point the finger at San Francisco, when in fact, those are the homeless from outside states who ended up here because SF was and is the only hope they had due to its humanitarian programs.
The SF homeless are the outcome for the entire country's failed states.
@@annacoribioanna you right. I agree…. 💯 percent
"This chum taste sandy to you?" - the fish in the Bay
Mmmm no wonder people love the creamy Dungeness crab....feast?
Cycle of life. They become fish food. Then we eat the fishes.
Homeless drug addicted transients dying on the streets in San Francisco. Disposed in regulated state landfills would be prudent and cost efficient. The mortuary owner was paid quite well regarding this endeavor from the coffers of the city & county of San Francisco.
............nothing here.
Regards -
You are saying that children, teens, young adults or adults with a bright future, happiness and hope are to be disposed on landfills so it's cost efficient? The human beings that became 'homeless' in a culture that lacks complete values for family bonds (being alone does not mean they did something wrong, this society fails EVERYONE at some point) but homelessness is an OUTCOME, and DRUG addcition is an OUTCOME of extreme suffering, depression, suicidal etc.
So don't say the name 'drug addicted transients" but say what they actually are "children that grew up at some point, teens that grew up at some point" that's all they are, regardless of if they died with drugs inside, with more wrinkles in their face, these people are nothing but
people just as you or anyone else in these comments with different tolerance to the extreme hardship of being a human being in a messed up culture, in a messed up world. FInally - GOOD LUCK TO YOU.... who is going to forgive you?
Never assume you'll end up surrounded by love and family, nobody knows how one ends up when it's over.
Ash is white???
yep
Light gray
@@slomo4672 NO!!!!!
So doesn't there have any dark ashes? Was this only white peoples ashes?
ash is all the same color after cremation. you can't tell one person from another.
goddanm you're either real funny or real stupid
Taxpayers pay the bill.
Unfortunately, this is the only known cure for fetanyl addiction.
worthless family members abandoning their own…
Such a beautiful place
Such a wonderful sendoff.
May their souls rest eternal with our Lord Jesus Christ 🙏
Amen
