*For windows 11, make sure your BIOS is up to date and supports windows 11 on your motherboard* This video is intended for PCs that had windows installed with the BIOS in UEFI mode before installation or for PCs that don't have windows installed yet. If you installed windows in CSM mode and are trying to switch it to UEFI mode to turn on secure boot, there is a chance your PC will no longer load windows and will only boot to your BIOS or a black screen, it depends on how your drive was formatted, MBR (Master Boot Record) typically how the drive is formatted for CSM mode or GPT (GUID Partition Table) for UEFI mode. More than likely your boot drive is formatted to MBR and not GPT. Your only two options are reinstall windows in UEFI mode or run the MBR2GPT tool in windows, which converts your boot drive to the correct format.
currently can’t play Valorant because of this , i did everything in order but as soon as i try to boot up my pc it doesn’t want to. it just stays as a black screen
If you switched from CSM to UEFI mode and you can't boot into Windows anymore then your boot drive is more than likely formatted as MBR and not GPT, if that is the case you will either need to switch back to CSM mode and boot into Windows and run the MBR2GPT tool to convert the drive, then go back to the BIOS to switch to UEFI mode or install Windows fresh with the BIOS in UEFI mode.
Wondering where this other video is because my PC did have Windows 10 installed and CSM mode so whenever I turn on secure boot, and I change it to UFI it just constantly boots backed to bios the moment I disabled secure booth and it boots up like normal so if there’s a video that you’ve done that will actually walk me step-by-step on how to have a workaround for that that would be great
The only video I have covering converting your boot drive from MBR to GPT, in order to switch to UEFI & enable secure boot is this one: czcams.com/video/gZkxjBhax10/video.html But this is a general overview of the process and isn't specific to one particular PC, motherboard, etc...This is assuming your drive is the wrong format for UEFI, which based off of what you said, that does sound like its the issue.
Hello I was doing this tutorial, but in a hurry I did not do the last step in trusted computing and now the pc turns on but stays in black screen. I need help please. I hope you can answer
Did you switch from CSM to UEFI mode at any point when in the BIOS? The last step was enabling trusted computing, which shouldn't mess with booting the PC, the step after it was just closing out of the BIOS and going back into it to make sure the settings saved.
Interesting, I haven't really messed with the BIOS on the intel boards that much yet. So I am not really sure where to look without the PC in front of me.
Help, SSD m2, in the BIOS it is detected in devices, in the Boot Menu it is detected only in Legacy+Uefi mode. And at the same time the system does not start from it. In Uefi it is not visible at all. Only in Legacy it is visible and it does not load. The disk has GPT. What to do?
That sounds like the boot drive is formatted as MBR and not GPT, but if you are saying that it is formatted as GPT, then I am honestly not sure what the issue is. Plus not having the PC in front of me makes things like this difficult to figure out.
Was your BIOS previously set to CSM & then changed to UEFI? If so your boot drive is more than likely formatted to MBR and GPT. If you look at my pinned comment, I go over that issue briefly.
When I do it it opens a new screen with New CPU installed, fTPM NV corrupted or fTPM NV structure changed. Press ¥ to reset fTPM, 1f you have BitLocker or encryption enabled, the system will not boot without a recovery key Press N to keep previous fTPM record and continue system boot, fTPM wl11 NOT enable in new CPU, you can swap back to the old CPU to recover TPM related Keys and data But I cant accept it
I’m getting a secure boot violation? All the settings are the same but when I go back the security tab does not look the same. Like I don’t think a security device was found.

currently can’t play Valorant because of this , i did everything in order but as soon as i try to boot up my pc it doesn’t want to. it just stays as a black screen
Wondering where this other video is because my PC did have Windows 10 installed and CSM mode so whenever I turn on secure boot, and I change it to UFI it just constantly boots backed to bios the moment I disabled secure booth and it boots up like normal so if there’s a video that you’ve done that will actually walk me step-by-step on how to have a workaround for that that would be great
The only video I have covering converting your boot drive from MBR to GPT, in order to switch to UEFI & enable secure boot is this one: czcams.com/video/gZkxjBhax10/video.html
But this is a general overview of the process and isn't specific to one particular PC, motherboard, etc...This is assuming your drive is the wrong format for UEFI, which based off of what you said, that does sound like its the issue.
Hey when I enable secure boot it says cam is loaded disable the cam in setup
You will need to disabled CSM/switch to UEFI mode in order to enable secure boot.
Thanks bro
@@Alan2736l No problem!
Thanks man! Helped me a lot
Glad it helped!
My pc only has the chassis option. Does that mean i do not have tpm?
Well if you have a TPM header on your board, then you will need an external TPM module to plug into it, assuming your CPU doesn't support it.
If it tells you that csm is enabled instead of uefi but it isn’t save and exit the bios and enter bios again
Yeah, sometimes you have to save and exit for some of the settings to work correctly before moving onto the next setting.
Secure boot enabled and unable to boot windows! always ends up in the bios... -_-
See my pinned comment, if you switched from CSM to UEFI, your boot drive is more than likely formatted to MBR and not GPT.
odd.. I have an msi pro h510m and I can't see the menu inside advanced settings for the windows option ...
When I go to click advanced in the settings it doesn't let me do anything, it basically freezes on me until I restart the pc
That is really odd, have you tried a different USB port for your keyboard/mouse or a different keyboard/mouse? I haven't had that happen to me yet.
I have some issues, can't booting windows when turn on secure boot, rebooting all time go back to bios.
Was your BIOS previously set to CSM & then changed to UEFI? If so your boot drive is more than likely formatted to MBR and GPT. If you look at my pinned comment, I go over that issue briefly.
You’re the best!! Thank you for this tutorial!!
You are so welcome!
Hello & thank you for the help. If I have an intel CPU (skylake or newer) I need to chose PTT instead of fTPM, is that correct?
That is correct, for whatever reason Intel and AMD use different names.
@@Bananabrain_xmf I had to choose between PTT and dTPM, not fTPM. My mistake, sorry. However PTT worked for me. Thank you for your respond!
When I do it it opens a new screen with
New CPU installed, fTPM NV corrupted or fTPM NV structure changed.
Press ¥ to reset fTPM, 1f you have BitLocker or encryption enabled,
the system will not boot without a recovery key
Press N to keep previous fTPM record and continue system boot, fTPM wl11 NOT
enable in new CPU, you can swap back to the old CPU to recover TPM related
Keys and data
But I cant accept it
That is an odd one, I haven't ran into that myself, did you previously have fTPM enabled at some point before the CPU change?
All this in 1:50 wow
Thank you so much
I probably could have shaved a few more seconds off it if I tried!
I’m getting a secure boot violation? All the settings are the same but when I go back the security tab does not look the same. Like I don’t think a security device was found.
I haven't ran into that before, is that all it says in the error or is there more to it?
@@Bananabrain_xmf thanks for replying. Luckily I was able to figure the problem out. The problem was that the bios version was too old, once I updated it, it worked perfect. Thanks for the great tutorial.
Thanks man, massive help, much appreciated
No problem 👍
