Using BlenderCAM to make free gcode and milling it in my 3018 Pro CNC machine with a 1mm end mill

- Oh Blender, what can't you do? In this video I talk about using this wonderful but cumbersome software BlenderCAM to work with Blender and also deal with logistical challenges of using cheap 0.45 mm end mills (I wind up using a 1mm end mill)
Software to make gcode can be expensive, BlenderCAM is a free plugin for Blender, but maybe not as user friendly or powerful as some other more expensive software, but certainly is a powerful tool nonetheless. - Věda a technologie
The wood that was left from the ring around the leaf cut out just came off with my finger really easily, since it was milled so close to it all it really left is a slightly rougher ring around the cut out that is barely noticeable. It's interesting the curved sides were a little thicker than the flat sides, I honestly think it's more due to the 3d model being slightly thicker there from my quick job at making that border than the milling machine being less consistent while milling on a curve.
Thank you.
Does this support using multiple tools in one operation?
yeah, doing a manual tool change, I made a video about that, the one with the kitten relief. It might support tool change commands to a fancy mill even, not sure though
Thx for your vid..are you on windows machine and if so how do you install blendercam on blender 3.0?
It works good in 3.0. The install method is detailed on blendercams site. Basically you need to install some stuff in the python distributed with blender and then setup the blendercam folder where you extracted it to the scripts path in blender and start blender and enable the CAM plugin
@@OGmolton1 ok thank you
@@OGmolton1 Can you do a tutorial for the install, doesn't seem to be one out there.
