I have one of these, bought it new way back when. It replaces another Sony CD changer that I had. Mine has been in and out of storage the last few years. I love it and it's worked flawlessly.
I have this exact model. Today after years sitting in cabinet I decided to try and hook this up to my Yamaha Receiver. Once hooked up tray would not open, motor noise, and error message. Everything you showed in your video. Will have to order a couple belts to have on hand Thanks for posting video.
Dokken is great saw them live back in 87 in Philly, great concert, just wanted to let you know, it was the exact problem my 545 had, thanks for the video.
Hi! Thank you for posting this. I have the same model that is having the EXACT same problem. What is the size / type of the correct belt to fix this? I’m sure I can get one on eBay?
I rescued one just like this and I was hoping to resell it. Issue is that the tray doesn’t spin and the player itself doesn’t go into the rest position (maybe it has to do with the tray). Is it just a belt replacement?
I have a very similar Sony model compact disc player - the CDP-CE275. Once turned on, the disc drawer doesn't open of close without some help (pull it open or push it closed). With a CD in one of the slots, it indicates that it has a CD in it, but it sounds like it keeps looking for it, and never loads the CD to play. I know very little about electronics and am uncertain where I would find belts or gears if I did choose to open it up. What do you suggest I do? Find someone locally who might be able to repair it? Send it to a Sony-certified repair shop?
William, thx for watching the video! If you have someone local that might be your best bet since I wouldn’t recommend tearing the unit down without some knowledge of the mechanical timing of the drawer. I would estimate the repair cost at a reputable shop would cost between $75-$100. In the event you don’t find anyone and would like to send it to me you can find my email address in the About tab of my channel.
I have just repaired the same unit - a CDP-E375. Same Chassis. Replaced the same belt. There's another belt under the platter, which was completely off. Looks like that one is fine on yours . I have a question. - the spindle makes a racket and I can't figure what's causing the noise. Any input you can share is appreciated.
Extremely helpful video especially for this model. Thanks. But I can't get the drawer to slide open. Not with front panel and power or wo. front and no power.
I havev5 dics pioneer player When I hit open/close it opens all the way but does not stay open There are not disc stuck in there Could it be dirty lens eye or ??

I dig your videos. One suggestion, do a little more fixed views from camera? Most of that was like watching the video in a turbulent sea 😕
Thanks for checking out the videos man!
You have just won another subscriber. Good Job!

Keene, thanks for checking out the video, fixing your unit should be a piece of cake.

Knighthawk, thanks for checking out the video! Dokken in 87 I'm sure that was a great show, all original members.
@@luvradios oh yeah awesome show.
Nice video on the repairs. You could have shown where the belt was reinstalled.

For the tray revolving belt, I'm using a rubberband because the replacement belts I received don't work. But the rubberband does. For now.
What’s up guys
I have the same cd player and it keeps on spinning, is it a calibration problem ?

I wish I saw this before taking all the time I needed figuring how to take it apart. ;-)
I probably missed the memo- what are the part numbers for both belts? I fixed mine today with rubber bands, which I know won't last. Thanks!

I measured mine and ordered PRB but eBay also lists both belts.

Mine's making a pretty horrific noise. It's in a pile of parts headed for the garbage now. Still enjoyed your video though.

I wasn’t aware that pioneer made a 5 disc carousel unit, what’s the model so I can check it out.
