  • Donisha at the Smithsonian's 'Discovering Rastafari' exhibit.
Donisha embarks on a personal quest to find the answers to questions that preoccupy her. What aspects of Rastafarian culture inspired her grandfathers music? Is Rastafarian movement still one of resistance for the disenfranchised and poor around the world? Where did dreadlocks come from? How did ganja become a part of Rastafarian culture? What is the significance of the Star of David to Rastafarians? Donisha must confront her own doubts and fears if she is to truly discover the roots and routes of Rastafari and the reasons it had such a profound influence not only on her grandfather Bob Marley, but also millions of people around the world.

Rita Marley had converted to the Ethiopian Orthodox Church 10 years before Bob Marley secretly converted to it 7 months before his death.

Although Marcus Garvey did have a major role.He recognized the importance of ethiopia but did not accept His Imperial Majesty.Dr Melaku Bayen however started off the ethiopian federation by the permission of Haile Sellasie, he plays a major role in why we have shashamane. If we think to follow Marcus Garvey we will ultimately become confused. We must look at H.I.M and compare his actions with the bible, that is our only source of back up.

Coming soon...DREAD, RASTAFARI AND ETHIOPIA The definitive historical report of the beginning and the rise of the RastafarI movement in the Commonwealth of Dominica is part autobiographical and part fictional and definitely documentary. The author has chosen a writing style that is both informative and entertaining and seeks to throw new light on such epic chapters in Dominica’s history as the passage of the notorious Prohibited and Unlawful Societies and Associations Act 1974(The Dread Act)

Talking about hair. Nazarene vow is not for women. It is a priest hood. Women are ministering nurses. Hair ain't everything. Shit gets old. Haile SELASSIE our negus is Ethiopian. Not Jamaica. Not all jamaicans are negro people. Plenty Chinese, Indian, Irish and all loves.
