    Another super helpful thing nobody seems to know is you can middle mouse button click a menu and it will do the last menu option you did (as long as you already used the menu in your scene) also g is repeat last action very helpful as well

    Quality knowledge man, I've been using maya for mad years but just recently got into hard surface modeling. I'm only 2 videos in and already my life is changed! Also lining these techniques up one after another makes all the difference in the world, you're not spending 15 minutes on one tool and i appreciate that. awesome vids yo. keep it up!

    Great to see someone using maya for hard surfaces. Max is usually the suggested tool for this but i think maya does it better and easier,

    • @jlmussi
      @jlmussi  Před 5 lety +2

      Max is a Beast in its own right. I do prefer maya's interface over max though. Max modifier stack is more powerful. At the end of the day, it comes down to the artist more than the tool.

    These are good tips, but one I wanted to mention is the diamond pattern. I feel like with it so close together, it can cause awkward pinching, especially on curved surfaces. If you were to redirect twice, with the redirects facing each other, maybe 2 or more edge loops apart, you'd get the same edge loop reduction with a cleaner topology that better follows the contours of the shape.

    Nice video. One suggestion is to use a darker colour for the object you are working on so the edges stand out more since the blue tends to blend in with the light grey marking it hard to see in the video. Still a great video though thank you

    you should definetly do more small projects. I'm not saying you suck, but you seem to be very very stuck in place
    I mean you still use 5months old, even year old projects to demonstrate in your videos and I searched for more of your work on internet without being able to find that much more.
    I think it's time to start pumping out more projects quicker if you want to get better than you already are.
    I see a lot of potential but you need to start doing more stuff.
    I'm not hating at all, just my two cents.
    I wish you a good continuation!
