If there is a huge discrepancy between the level of education and examinations conducted between different boards, then it shouldn't be considered. Only the performance of the student in the entrance examination should be valued. The hardness of the exam isn't something in the control of the students. There can be students who are well capable of scoring 100% even if the exam was more tougher but they're restricted by the paper that is set by the state board. Absolutely unfair no matter how "scientific" they call their standardization to be. There is no need for a "standardization" in the first place given the huge disparity among different boards in our state.

One of my friends from state syllabus got 248/300 marks in keam but due to the pcm normalisation his rank got worse
If quality is less in state syllabus why should we consider plus two marks for keam ranking .Only keam entrance marks should be considered State students scored good marks in keam exam by this malpractice they are lowering the ranks

It's not a scam , it's normalisation. There is no scam. When i wrote keam in 2014, State syllabus kids were given more preference and more marks in normalisation then. The normalisation depends on the national average of each subject. Besides don't sweat on these ranks. Join a decent college it doesn't have to be CET, there are other govt/ sef financing colleges. You'll have to self study in egg college, there is no spoon feeding. Pick up some technical skills at the end of 4yrs and you're golden.

The level of effort needed to score 90% in CBSE is more than someone who scores 100% in state. This is the reason for this normalisation and I think that is fair enough. This should have been introduced way before!

Finally someone has spoken about the failure of the system in detail...The standard of competency in Kerala Syllabus has gone down...The CUET is a result of this failed system of awarding marks...The same is the fact in +1 admission & college admission...Deserving students are left out or have to settle for lesser...The fact is that there is no value in marks from Kerala Syllabus....if a student from CBSE/ICSE says that they have above 90% in board exams, we know he is excellent in Academics....Now if the students from Kerala syllabus says i have 10 A+ or i have 1200/1200 in +2....The thought process is ok good...but we still dont know if they are excellent...thats what this system has done to our students...an excellent student has been made to look merely average...if this is the fabled Kerala Model, god help our future generations...

Sir I think normalisation is done by comparing +2 marks with keam score , students with better keam score tends to lose less marks in the standardisation process.
( because last time when I attended keam , me and my friend who had same +2 marks had different standardised scores , the one with better keam score lost less marks through standardisation )

There is 10 percent reduction in marks if the student is from CBSe. If he get 90 percentage,by normalisation his mark will be 80. Only toughness of cbse is far more than state. It very hard to score 90 percent in cbse while its easy in state. If he score 90 percentage his score gets reduced to 80. I think u all know its very easy to score 80 percentage in state syllabus.. 😢😢.
