      If the money is no problem when repairs come up, I'd buy it again tomorrow. The 13,14 s 1199 r , in my opinion are the best looking crotchrockets in the industry(BAR NONE) and faster than you need to take them unless your on a track. They handle like it's on rails. Suspension is set up with a push of a button. No tools required.

      The heat is unbelievable on a warm day below 60 mph. There are situations where one specific flaw colors everything about a bike, and for me at least the heat pouring off this bike is what I think about and it impacts how often I use mine. It is great in spring or fall/winter. It would be difficult to have this be your only bike if you like to ride in the summer.
      One of my other bikes has ceramic on the exhaust and I am tempted to try it on my stock exhaust to see if it makes a difference.

I'm considering the R now, but with everything I have in the 16' R1 (carbon fiber rims, full Matte carbon fiber body, full titanium exhaust, custom tune, etc) it makes it hard to switch. For anyone that is planing to buy a 1299 or an 1199 you should not be in danger of overheating in the summer as long as you are riding it like you should ride a panigale😂. The most common issue that I’ve seen on my 1299s and other peoples 1199’s. The squirter unit and the water pump have a pretty high fail rate since it is literally in between both of your cylinders. And btw the squirter unit is the actual name of the part and it is made with some kinda OK plastic but when it over heats it usually just fails and spits coolant until you replace it🙃. Got to love the Ducati heat factor lmao.

    #1 you get what you pay for... you want generic ok, save money. You want something special --> DUCATI
    #2 I honestly got lucky on my 1299 base with Statefarm insurance in NC.
    #3 Not a touring bike... you want comfortable buy a Goldwing. Panigale is race inspired track focused. Don't lie to yourself on this one...
    #4 Bike only feels hot when your going slow from light to light... tracktime going hard its fine. (not a touring bike)
    #5 I used a little piece of duck tape on the throttle thing... problem solved!
    I have road the $hit outta my 1299 base. I had one warranty issue with fork seals nothing else. I have done over a dozen trackdays and now in the Advanced group. The paint is pealing off the motor I have run it so hard LOL. Still running like a champ and is a stunner with some bling parts ! I honestly never plan on selling this bike.

    Ok. The title of the video is about why not to buy one. Why do you ramble on about the deal you got and what came with it? Sorry but I was hoping to learn some reasons why not to own one. You ramble on about things that don't have much to do with owning one or that apply to every sport bike out. You lean over and the ergo is bad on every sport bike. The one reason that applies in this video is the heat the motor produces. And to be honest most of us that love ducati's can deal with a negative or two because of how they look and sound.

    I own one and the vid is nonsense. Yes, it gets hot. This can be negated and will only be bad for fools riding in denim or shorts. In leather, no probs. No, it is not a 2 wheeled ferrari. Ducati will rip you off for spares costs and service costs. Its a big twin, so screws will rattle off. Theyre not cheap. But my 1299 has some grunt. It is terrible in an urban environment, but take it on a track and boy is she good.

      I’m thinking of buying a panigale 1199, a question that I had was about the “it gets hot” statement most people talk about. What exactly does that mean? Like engine overheating or just exhaust heat. Would be nice for someone to clear this up for me

    • @boots2926
      @boots2926 Před 5 měsíci

      @@BaqerAlSarraf Its a 200hp motorcycle. bhp=heat. The vertical pot is essentially where your private bits are, the exhaust manifold is under your bum. If you wear leathers its probably ok. shorts and t shirt in a hot clime, be painful if moving in stop start slow traffic all the time. If you are on open roads, no problem. I use mine in Almeria track days at 38°C and its fine. I have fill Ti akra, Ti is better for heat. I also have put Gold DE reflective on a lot of the insides and under seat.
      But the 1199 and the 1299 are awesome bikes. The heat is only an issue if you are stuck in v hot climate, stop start and slow riding. In winter in UK its actually useful heat. :) Dont let this vid, which is rubbish, put you off. All bikes have shortcomings somewhere. This is a superbike, not a tourer or a commuter.

    I love my 1299Panigale S. It’s definitely not a bike you want to ride around town hitting stop lights and stop signs, it has too much power for that kind of riding. It’s a track bike, canyons, open roads bike because of the power it possesses. For city riding I get on my 1200 Harley sportster which is super chill. This Ducati hates stop and go riding and will heat up to 214 Fahrenheit on a hot day at a stop light.
