I own a 2019 Cx-5 signature model. The turbo engine is a great thing to have under the hood. Plush and comfortable interior. Bose sound system. Handles the road very good. Fun to drive. When you goose the turbo, you move. No worries, you have all the power you need, immediately when you need it. Best in class by far. Mine is the Machine gray color. Can’t say enough about this ride. Spend the xtra, you will love it.
Best compact suv in its class with 300ft lbs of torque, Crv and RAV4 don’t even come close.
I have a Soul Red Crystal 2020 CX 5 Signature. Fast, handles well, and great looking.

Use mink oil on the steering wheel... it's what you do to preserve leather boots and it makes it soft and supple.
I have a 2016 Mazda 3 Sport and I love it. Mazda is a very relaible car.
I bought the next model down, a Soul Red Grand Touring Reserve. It has 95% of the features found on the Signature. So OK, I didn't get the 360 deg. camera, rear parking sensors, interior footlights, real wood inserts or the "Napa leather" but the leather I did get looks better and I saved over $2,000. I DO like that loud horn. Some idiots in traffic need a "wake-up call".
The good steering feel and handling are just what I like. A firmer ride for that driving control is no problem for me.
POWER you ask? Oh yesss, especially eight a tank of 100 octane "racing gas"!
STYLING - great, outside and inside, and very upscale.
This is the compact crossover to buy !

Four years ago, I buy a used 19 Mazda CX-5.
How much of the seats are actually real leather? Is it just the middle seat sections? Most of the material looked like vinyl.
If only they'd make this car a lot bigger, it'd be such a winner.

This is the correct size if you want something huge get a highlander or pilot.

It’s not the “correct size”. The Mazda CX-5 competes with the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, Subaru Forester, and Nissan Rouge. And all of those cars are bigger than the CX-5. This car does not compete with the Toyota CH-R and Honda HR-V!!
X Finity it’s fine for what it is if you need the space than go for the others you mention. I’m only 172 lbs I fit in it perfectly plus I like that it is more compact than the others easier to find a parking spot in the city.👍🏻

The cupholders are a problem for me. I have a HUGE cup.. try to drink a gallon of water per day, ya know, hydrate. I'm going to have to bring my cup to the next test drive.
You need to cut down on the water, it’s dangerous to drink that much water, you can damage your health as it can lead to hyponatremia (low sodium in the blood), it can even kill you. You can get all of your water needs by eating and drinking sensibly.

With regard to the lack of room for your 'driving' leg, you must remember that this is a Japanese manufacture and their country is a right hand drive country.

i rented one of these and i thought it'd be enough for a car seat but in order for my son to have any leg room, the passenger seat has to be so far forward. There was more room in my old honda fit.
I also say "woah" when I slip :(

If You make decisions from what others tell you than you have more flaws than the car lol, go try it for yourself before coming to a conclusion.
I just did an over 3.5 hr extended test drive on the Santa fe, I really liked it and would like to upgrade from my 2011 cyl Santa fe, but this new turbo is gutless !! I could only muster just just over 8 sec. 0-60, and a weak weak 6.3 (in sport mode) 50-70m hwy passing test, after 6-7 attempts... that's terribly slow for the segment and some suv's with non-turbos can do mid 5's and even under 5 sec. for this passing test.. and yes, that killed it for me.. Imagine if had 4 people and cargo in it... since it doesn't have competitive fuel economy, the lack of power too, is a double negative wammy for me !! I loved it otherwise, but I'll curse the f'n thing if I buy it and have to pass some truck... but that said, though I love the mazda cx5 in general, certain other none-engineering aspects takes it off the list for my wife and I... crap.. too bad...
I would strongly recommend not buying a Mazda. We purchased a brand new Mazda CX9 and within 2 years had problems with a rough idle. Was told after second year it just needed new spark plug wires. Dealer could never recreate rough idle. 4 years later we took it in for an oil change and was told the cylinder head was leaking coolant.....Cylinder heads on back order for two months due to known problem of leaking. the only solution was either a refurbished engine or New engine from dealer. Warranty just expired but dealer and Mazda just says sorry either return your loaner car or replace the engine at your cost! Horrible experience......$4600.00 lesson learned. Please do yourself a favor and do not purchase a $40,000 car from Mazda only to have to purchase a $4600.00 engine in less than 4 years and trade in value now only $14,000 after new engine. NEVER again!

mazda navigation is useless because it has no traffic info. That is why they added andriod auto and that fruit play. The problem with this review is that you don't really know this car. So you are like a bad salesman.
The Mazda Navigation in the US, at least on the Signature trim, has SiriusXM-provided traffic info.
