We are local and I have taken my Pokemon obsessed young boys to both Cardcons. This year they had been saving up pocket money for months and they each got their first graded slabs and lots of Japanese Chinese and Korean cards to make their collections more interesting. We went on Saturday last year and Sunday this year and both times I was left with the impression there weren't enough buyers for the venue scale and number of sellers so I hope it's financially viable for them to keep running the event. I hope some of the sponsors have deep pockets. We spent yesterday afternoon sorting all their new acquisitions into folders. Browsing through their stuff over breakfast this morning it was clear Cardcon 2 had moved them up a level.

I'd like to think it's here to stay, I didn't make card con 1, but the size of card con 2 was great with some impressive names vendoring, it was nice to not be packed in like sardines like at some other shows. It would be nice to k ow the confirmed amount of attendees though. Fingers crossed I'll be able to make the trade night next time

@@JamesCollectibles My guess is there were only around 300 attendees on Sunday morning around 1.5 per table if there were 200 tables. I don't know if there was a later wave of people arriving for the afternoon. Hopefully for some of the sellers it's not just about the sales volume but a chance to get out any make it real. I didn't see any high value cards getting traded maybe that happens and makes it all viable. As a dad with kids we probably only spent around £100 yesterday but came home with a lot of great cards for them to enjoy.

At least you enjoyed it, that's the mean thing. I know a lot of the sellers meet at a pub or a restaurant the evening before these events and thays when some bigger deals go down
