  • Start of a new Stationeers Vulcan series with Brutal start option, Stationeers difficulty, default suit settings, always 100% health and no mods (more like Brutal++).
    Videos with commentary of my approach and improvements I would make in future runs.

    Looks like the start of a great series. A few tips. Creating a passive vent without a pipe bender: Before sealing up the room, use the active vent to pressurize your pipes to the max; then, remove pipe segments from the end till you hear pipes groaning, eventually one will burst, giving you a pseudo passive vent (I guess I commented too early, you mention this later, however, the longer your pipe network is and the more you trim it down, a pipe will burst fairly quickly).. With a little bit of copper you could also create a door kit on Day 1 to make a manual airlock, thereby avoiding the repeated construction/deconstruction of your "door frame" and any gasses created by the welder in doing so. You only need 2-3 pipe segments as your O2 storage, thereby minimizing the number of pipe kits required.
    Regardless, I like the voice-over style of your video, good quality audio, without any extraneous comments and voices of panic or frustration.

      I choose not to use the burst pipe = passive vent technique due to my play style. I agree that a door (or two) would be rather useful that first day. (My entire first week sequence could be far better, but kept going as it seems good enough.) I run my audio through RX 10 Audio Editor to background remove noise, mouth sounds and etc. Due to making voice over after play, the voice track is separate from the game sound effects (merge them back in final editing).

      @@VenusianGamer Seems like you have some kind of "auto gain" on the mic or software you use to record. Sounds like the level goes up when you don't talk, which is a sad byproduct of auto gain. If you can, see if you can set some threshold for the pickup, so we don't hear your heavy breathing :) I do enjoy the voiceover tho

    Small optimization for a future start: since you have pipe for containment and an active vent, instead of welding up the frame you could isolate a vacuum in there with an iron wall and a single iron sheet. Would save having to use the welder and introducing the heat/gas to the interior environment without adding additional steps. It feels like you could squeeze an iron wall in on landing night.

    Cut the cable heading outside once your Print had finished when you realized you had left the Arc furnace ? Didn't matter this time but it may have saved you on another day. Great vid thank you.

    you mentioned the portable solar panel as being not useful but I believe it does work if you have a glass ceiling for the light to shine through

      Why I made the explicit statement of default suit settings (part of the title) as my playstyle doesn't muck with the suit settings. Just how I roll...

      I've been playing around with various handle names, thumbnails, and video formats. I guess you watched the Vulcan "Week 1" video. I thought I would do videos in one week units, but the videos are too long and a pain to make. So now focused more on 45 to 60 minute (more or less) videos.

      @@VenusianGamer Ya I did watch that Vulcan series. I actually got sad for a while trying to find your videos or channel and guess i re-discovered you haha. Need to do a Venus Stationeers Brutal series after this one for sure!

    • @VenusianGamer
      @VenusianGamer  Před 26 dny +2

      I tried a Venus Brutal (Stationeers difficulty) and lasted about 4 minutes. Just too hot for the EVA suit and would take too long to upgrade it. For Venus, Brutal would need a suit upgrade to have a chance. (I assume/hope there will be an update for Venus to make it possible on Brutal).

    Hey, seems to be a nice cycle! Can you please explain a bit more about "pipe" leaking and corner? I'm not aware, what it is about

    • @VenusianGamer
      @VenusianGamer  Před měsícem +2

      I checked and not an issues with the current build. In the past (year+), putting a normal pipe in the edge of two frames would leak a little (as you could see just a little of the yellow pipe from the outside). This could be viewed via the atmo card in the tablet. (Actually it would occur sometimes). In old videos, you may see someone route the pipe around the corner to avoid this. But doesn't appear to be an issue now (or maybe still random and just lucky this time).

    I'm curious whether an outer shell of space kept in Vacuum around an inner living space would limit the amount of air conditioning required to keep it comfortable? Probably would take so much time & materials to create that wouldn't be feasible, especially on a brutal run.

    • @entelin
      @entelin Před 17 dny +1

      Heat doesn't transfer across solid frames. So you basically have that anyway. Heat does go through open windows however. I don't remember if some heat gets transferred across regular walls or not *I think so*. Other than that, all your electronics and power consumers do produce heat.

    • @sighahnyde2215
      @sighahnyde2215 Před 12 dny

      @@entelin yes frames are kind of like mini vacuums to the game. Solid structures like frames or walls do not have a temperature only liquids and gasses do.
