I cant lie, by the End of the franchise(with Sellers) Lole stom the show. i mean Lom stole the show. His performance on the Pink Panther strikes again was unsurpassable.
After the passing of Peter Sellers, Chief Insp. Clouseau lost his way - thus entering into many movies and TV series, live-action and animated. And it was 2013 when he accidentally entered into another TV show as usual; this time that happened to be animated show 'Steven Universe'. So it turned out to be Clouseau (disguised as whatsoever) was the first human acquainted by Rose Quartz, not Greg. And being unable to hear the warning from her loud enough, he wandered his way in the battlefield of the Gem War with his martial art moves, and in the end he was tripped off by an obstacle below, thus led him to accidentally shatter Pink Diamond (deduced by Clouseau to be Sir Charles Lytton, aka jewel thief "the Phantom" or Clouseau's own animated panther friend masquerading as a Gem) despite the attack from Rose.
Well that's pushing it too far... But yes.. Herbert Lom deserved much more credit than he received.. Extremely talented actor.. But at the same time it's normal that when you have two greats at the same place, one may go unnoticed... Happens regularly in sports.. Ronaldinho and Messi played together for some time but Ronaldinho shined brightly... Then waned and paved the way for Messi..
Lom was beyond excellent but still Pink Panther recalls only one face - Seller´s. He was the star, nobody else. I can imagine Dreyfus acted by somebody else but not Clouseau! Thatś how I feel it.
some people consider trails to be one of the worst PP movies due to terrible circumstances. it should have been the last. Curse was a mess, Son was a misfire, the damn steve martin version was a mix bag. the first Steve Martin PP was ok but the second was bad. some of the scene with Herber Lom was one the saving grace to this film. it's a sad shame that trails became a greatest hits film.
