    Euro headers to an agency power exhaust. Best sounding E46 M3 I’ve ever heard... no tin rasp...

    • @mohammadshahin4922
      @mohammadshahin4922 Před 5 lety

      cheapest way too get a similar sound. Euro Headers. The stock section 1 already has 1 resonator. Just weld in another one. That 2nd resonator removes all the rasp

    • @LDrago1031
      @LDrago1031 Před 5 lety

      Umm try the csl headers to a status gruppe full exhaust it costs a bit more but the sound is incredible. I might be a bit biased tho since it’s on my car lol

  • @tnisc
    @tnisc Před 5 lety +22

    Agency Power Titanium is, hands down, the best sounding exhaust for this car! Status Gruppe a close second, but you'll find yourself waiting a bit longer for them.

      Can confirm. I have stock section 1 and 2 with the Ti Agency Power section 3. I think it sounds like it should have sounded from the factory. Very "sports car".

      Except for the poor fitment, try to get a oem M3 CSL rear valance its probably 2-3 times the price. Looks a lot better than the stock anyway

    Whatever exhaust you do end up getting, make sure it is one with a resonator. That will cut out all of that nasty rasp and tinny-ness these motors produce with an open exhaust. A few of us run the Bimmerworld 3.5" race exhaust (with resonator) on our track cars and it is a really nice piece of kit. It is a different and slightly deeper sound than most other exhausts but it really sounds awesome. It is a bit on the louder side but is still quiet enough for street use in my opinion. WAY quieter than an open exhaust. (Once again the resonator helps a ton here.) And is surprisingly tame at cruising RPM with minimal drone in my opinion. It is single exit though so the right side exhaust cut out in the rear bumper will be unfilled, but it's a whopping 62lbs lighter than the stock system.
    Otherwise if you want more of a street oriented setup that is also dual exit, the Rogue Engineering X-pipe and El Diablo muffler probably gets my runner up vote.

    @pFbSpecV Před 5 lety +1

    Your frustration shhhhiiitttttt had me laughing hahaha cant wait to see what you guys do for the exhaust!! You can always add a vibrant resonator if a aftermarket exhaust is to raspy.

    Borla and Supersprint are very popular here in Europe for good exhaust systems. Eisenmann and Remus are also good options. No drone, and excellent performance. I had Remus on several of my cars. They stand up to Autobahn driving and winter salt.

    i had a magniflow cat back on my 325 with an m54 b30 swaped in it, it sounded pretty good with the stock m54 manifolds/ cats once i cut the rear muffler off and put blast pipes in its place. not raspy at all droned a bit but it was easy to tolerate

  • @Not4YourKnowledge
    @Not4YourKnowledge Před 5 lety

    As a E46 M3 owner who has searched for a perfect exhaust, best options are agency power mufflers (what i have now, i have sound clips on my channel if you want to hear it) or a rouge el diablo exhaust. just my 2 cents

  • @DanAvon
    @DanAvon Před 5 lety +4

    You reversed the ride height measurements from the center of the wheel to the bottom of the fender. A common ride height setup is 13.5" front and 13.0" rear when measured from the wheel center to fender arch. The fenders on the E46 M3 aren't a true representation of chassis ride height and with the 13.5F / 13R setup you will have ideal chassis rake. If you left it as 13F / 13.5R then the car will have too much actual chassis rake.

  • @mohammadalghamdi628
    @mohammadalghamdi628 Před 5 lety

    Time to call vibrant! Custom exhaust ftw!

  • @TML34
    @TML34 Před 5 lety

    Gentlemen (term used loosely) - get rid of the dual exhaust set up. Have a custom made 2.5" single exhaust made from the headers back, this will save you 30-40 lbs of unnecessary weight. Install a Vibrant resonator after the merge pipe to quell the rasp and pick any muffler set up you want, or, you might like the way it sounds with just the resonator. A simple "helmholtz" muffler with dual pipes out either side will give the OE look out the back.

    • @revolutionday1

      In the U.S. a "spigot" is either a term used for a valve that water comes out of, or....a derogatory term for a gay Mexican.

    When setting coilovers, once I get the height on point according to a tape measure, I take a digital caliper and measure the thread on each side to make sure it's dead even.

    I hate it when the front bumper gives me trouble like that, because some cars are just built to make you regret removing it, like my 5 piece ford bumper. Madness. • @crazybmxer308
    @crazybmxer308 Před 5 lety

    If you need the full exhaust, the best bang for your buck would be bimmer world, you lose the quad tip. But it’s like 1000 for the full system compared to like 500-800 per section. And it’s super loud, plus youve been working with them so time to make a deal

    If you want an exhaust which amplifies the OEM sound in the higher rpms whilst providing more bass in lower revs, I strongly recommend in debaffling your OE backbox. (This is known on M3Forum.net as the ‘TrueBlue Mod’).
    I have debaffled mine and it is probably one of the best mods I’ve done on this car.
    Check the 2 videos on my channel to get a gist of the sound. 👍🏽

    Look into Rogue El Diablo and Active Auto mufflers.
    Forget the SuperSprint stuff, it's way too quiet for a drift car unless if you go with their race muffler (which is $2200 new....).
    If you hate rasp, I suggest AR20 resonators toward the front of them. It'll kill the rasp almost entirely.

  • @guythedudemanbro
    @guythedudemanbro Před 5 lety

    Supersprint exhaust. You need to be careful about the crossover location on the midpipe as it will affect peak torque and hp. Supersprint makes a good midpipe if you don't want to spring for the complete system

  • @ghostmcarthur9315
    @ghostmcarthur9315 Před 5 lety

    My first E46 M3 had a Scorpion rear box with a Simota induction kit and it was by far the best sounding M3 I have ever heard, all the rasp was gone and instead the car had a superb deep rumble.
    It was however the 'old' style Scorpion box which was a full width thing the sam size as the standard box which I know the have now superseded with a thinner version so not sure how the new one would compare.
    I am always on the lookout for an old style box for my current M3....
    Also, do a bit of homework on the connections between the centre pipe and the muffler as it's an odd arrangement. The two pipes have different connections and just because you're missing a clamp doesn't mean it's a dead loss... Look into using the two piece clamps often listed on ebay, much better than the standard set up which always rusts to oblivion.

  • @720whip

    Unfortunately the cause for the raspiness lies in the stock headers. Aftermarket mufflers exaggerate the raspiness if used with the stock headers.
