Euro headers to an agency power exhaust. Best sounding E46 M3 I’ve ever heard... no tin rasp...
cheapest way too get a similar sound. Euro Headers. The stock section 1 already has 1 resonator. Just weld in another one. That 2nd resonator removes all the rasp
Umm try the csl headers to a status gruppe full exhaust it costs a bit more but the sound is incredible. I might be a bit biased tho since it’s on my car lol
Agency Power Titanium is, hands down, the best sounding exhaust for this car! Status Gruppe a close second, but you'll find yourself waiting a bit longer for them.
agree, but mucho dinero
Can confirm. I have stock section 1 and 2 with the Ti Agency Power section 3. I think it sounds like it should have sounded from the factory. Very "sports car".
Agree I’ve got the agency power
tnisc oh my God, I just Impulse bought the agency power full titanium two nights ago at 3am!!! Can’t wait!!
@@caesarguzman5831 Smart move!!
300 dollar carbon not worth that hassle or that poor fitment
Except for the poor fitment, try to get a oem M3 CSL rear valance its probably 2-3 times the price. Looks a lot better than the stock anyway
Whatever exhaust you do end up getting, make sure it is one with a resonator. That will cut out all of that nasty rasp and tinny-ness these motors produce with an open exhaust. A few of us run the Bimmerworld 3.5" race exhaust (with resonator) on our track cars and it is a really nice piece of kit. It is a different and slightly deeper sound than most other exhausts but it really sounds awesome. It is a bit on the louder side but is still quiet enough for street use in my opinion. WAY quieter than an open exhaust. (Once again the resonator helps a ton here.) And is surprisingly tame at cruising RPM with minimal drone in my opinion. It is single exit though so the right side exhaust cut out in the rear bumper will be unfilled, but it's a whopping 62lbs lighter than the stock system.
Otherwise if you want more of a street oriented setup that is also dual exit, the Rogue Engineering X-pipe and El Diablo muffler probably gets my runner up vote.
Your frustration shhhhiiitttttt had me laughing hahaha cant wait to see what you guys do for the exhaust!! You can always add a vibrant resonator if a aftermarket exhaust is to raspy.
@1:39 is how I felt every weekend owning an E46.
Im not much fan of BMWs nor convertibles, and I might have skiped a few videos, but its nice to see you comming to an end and it looks so good compared to how it was. Great job guys!
Borla and Supersprint are very popular here in Europe for good exhaust systems. Eisenmann and Remus are also good options. No drone, and excellent performance. I had Remus on several of my cars. They stand up to Autobahn driving and winter salt.
hands down one of my top 5 fav channels
We all know that you have to let the suspensions settle before you measure ride height🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
i had a magniflow cat back on my 325 with an m54 b30 swaped in it, it sounded pretty good with the stock m54 manifolds/ cats once i cut the rear muffler off and put blast pipes in its place. not raspy at all droned a bit but it was easy to tolerate
As a E46 M3 owner who has searched for a perfect exhaust, best options are agency power mufflers (what i have now, i have sound clips on my channel if you want to hear it) or a rouge el diablo exhaust. just my 2 cents
You reversed the ride height measurements from the center of the wheel to the bottom of the fender. A common ride height setup is 13.5" front and 13.0" rear when measured from the wheel center to fender arch. The fenders on the E46 M3 aren't a true representation of chassis ride height and with the 13.5F / 13R setup you will have ideal chassis rake. If you left it as 13F / 13.5R then the car will have too much actual chassis rake.
Rake loves this
Time to call vibrant! Custom exhaust ftw!
Gentlemen (term used loosely) - get rid of the dual exhaust set up. Have a custom made 2.5" single exhaust made from the headers back, this will save you 30-40 lbs of unnecessary weight. Install a Vibrant resonator after the merge pipe to quell the rasp and pick any muffler set up you want, or, you might like the way it sounds with just the resonator. A simple "helmholtz" muffler with dual pipes out either side will give the OE look out the back.
The centre ring is called a spigot ring in the UK. Not sure about the US. Hopefully this will help people search for them in needed. Love the work!
In the U.S. a "spigot" is either a term used for a valve that water comes out of, or....a derogatory term for a gay Mexican.
When setting coilovers, once I get the height on point according to a tape measure, I take a digital caliper and measure the thread on each side to make sure it's dead even.
#tweakerstatusachieved
I hate it when the front bumper gives me trouble like that, because some cars are just built to make you regret removing it, like my 5 piece ford bumper. Madness. Sorry to hear that you guys have 'exhausted' you're options on cheaper pipes! The rust monster strikes again eh? I don't miss that stuff here in Cali! 👐😭'Stop corroding!!!'
If you need the full exhaust, the best bang for your buck would be bimmer world, you lose the quad tip. But it’s like 1000 for the full system compared to like 500-800 per section. And it’s super loud, plus youve been working with them so time to make a deal
Love the M3 mist filling the garage giving it a race car smell... 🏎
From back to front to truly sound amazing:
Twin Flowmaster 40s > 2.5" pipe > long tube headers > 6.0L Gen IV small block
Smashed it ten times!!
If you want an exhaust which amplifies the OEM sound in the higher rpms whilst providing more bass in lower revs, I strongly recommend in debaffling your OE backbox. (This is known on M3Forum.net as the ‘TrueBlue Mod’).
I have debaffled mine and it is probably one of the best mods I’ve done on this car.
Check the 2 videos on my channel to get a gist of the sound. 👍🏽
Amazing build can’t wait to see you rip!
The only way I was able to get rid of the rasp was replace the X-Pipe. I went with the Borla cat back system and loved it. Quiet when just driving around and a nice rumble on track.
Add an AR20 resonator to the section 1 pipe with no factory resonator and it will get rid of all rasp.
Super sprint exhaust
5:27 you always nail the rear end
Is there gonna be a final tally of $$$ spent, so we can stop calling it a $4000 car, with $10,000 in parts installed 😝
Exactly
Thomas Cahill good point! Such bullshit! Also bullshit click bait! Unsubbing and I’m not buying your ugly sweatshirt!
Thomas Cahill haha 😂
So excited w this build ! Please dont straight pipe. Proper exhaust build ! And yes the rasp is coming from the restricted headers. If you gonna cheap out on exhaust get megan racing headers.. Been hearing about it. Fitment is on point and sorta lightweight.
I want one of those sweaters. I too must cover my moobs
I had a Danen exhaust system with the danan larger individual throttle bodies and it sounded good
MagnaFlow exhaust sounds decent. not much raspy noise.
Look into Rogue El Diablo and Active Auto mufflers.
Forget the SuperSprint stuff, it's way too quiet for a drift car unless if you go with their race muffler (which is $2200 new....).
If you hate rasp, I suggest AR20 resonators toward the front of them. It'll kill the rasp almost entirely.
Supersprint exhaust. You need to be careful about the crossover location on the midpipe as it will affect peak torque and hp. Supersprint makes a good midpipe if you don't want to spring for the complete system
My first E46 M3 had a Scorpion rear box with a Simota induction kit and it was by far the best sounding M3 I have ever heard, all the rasp was gone and instead the car had a superb deep rumble.
It was however the 'old' style Scorpion box which was a full width thing the sam size as the standard box which I know the have now superseded with a thinner version so not sure how the new one would compare.
I am always on the lookout for an old style box for my current M3....
Also, do a bit of homework on the connections between the centre pipe and the muffler as it's an odd arrangement. The two pipes have different connections and just because you're missing a clamp doesn't mean it's a dead loss... Look into using the two piece clamps often listed on ebay, much better than the standard set up which always rusts to oblivion.
Unfortunately the cause for the raspiness lies in the stock headers. Aftermarket mufflers exaggerate the raspiness if used with the stock headers.
I have super sprint exhaust system in mine, it is one of the best ones
Magnaflow, I’m sure has the sound you’re going for. A little rumble but tame. I’m sure they have a cat-back for you too
Status gruppe exhaust sounds soooo goood. @Pardnm3 has probably the best sounding m3 I’ve ever heard
fabspeed stepped headers, move cats to mid-pipe (CSL set up), Rogue Eng X-pipe/diablo muffler.
Reasonable price. solid sound
Excited to see which exhaust you run with! Bimmerworld sells, what I think is, the lightest setup (single exit), but Status Gruppe has a great sounding setup, that I think can be mated to euro headers (cheaper)
The Dinan unit sounds pretty good or you probably find a stock exhaust in way better condition than yours for cheep on the forums
glass packs man..cant go wrong! (yes i know this is old) get your glass pack hot and drop it in water then listen to the difference!
Look for an Eisenmann exhaust there are really long lasting
Eisenmann Systems keeping the base sound character - I like that more than the over aggressive ones
what tires are you running there? that will have the biggest impact on lap times. Much bigger than the carbon pieces and even a lightweight exhaust. Slicks are a better upgrade than a titanium exhaust
Love the E46 M3
Your gonna smash that carbon diffuser right off your drift missile.
I will buy that hoodie if you gimme more of that sweet frs goodness that i crave.
Oh my chicles!
Flowmaster obviously
Status Gruppe have some affordable options for the exhaust, otherwise Supersprint/Eisenmann if you don't mind spending a bit more.
Supersprint :)
Damn those salted roads! Oh well. An aftermarket exhaust will be dope. Hope you find a good one.
very nice! are you guys gonna corner balance it since you have adjustable coil overs?
e46 m3 front bumper adjustment is SUCH a pita...
Catless headers, rasp delete, stock section 2 amd megan racing muffler
Make sure it’s X-pipe design!!!
Rogue Engineering exhaust.
BimmerWorld race exhaust is probably the best sounding and most affordable for your setup.
Curtis Lovrak might be the lightest too.
Agency power exhaust system you should look into👍
Keep the revs above 4k, no rasp.
Megan racing exhaust for the e46 m3 is cheap and sounds pretty good
Drift King fitment isn’t the best though...
suspension will settle a bit anyway
Can someone explain what those funnel-looking things are under the front bumper support?
Miltek is the best E46 m3 exhaust
Gray dad style hats being restocked? Need some speed academy gear!
Try the rogue engineering el diablo exhaust with a 1 or 2 Ar20 resonator. Still load no rasp
Agency Power axle back with euro header
Dinan makes a great sounding exhaust it’s a little raspy tho
I need some swag. What size hoodies are you guys wearing for size reference? Lol
E46s need a muffler bc they need back pressure my brother had an e46 with the inline 6 and cut the muffler off and it lost power
Get a full Rogue Engineering el diablo exhaust, nothing sounds better on an e46 M3.
How in the WORLD did you find a $4K M3 cabrio?
What does the check engine light say?
Are your tires on backwards?
Good luck with the rasp. It will require resonators no matter what. Simple solution
You should probably start investing in some drift specific parts for your "drift" m3 instead of just blowing money on carbon fiber body parts.
I have dinnan exhaust and I’m happy for the sound but down side is only 2 of quad tail pipe are functional 🤨
How is the fitment of that invidia exhaust lying around in the shop?
Diablo exhaust is the best for that car
Tubi exhaust.
Who's lexus is that? nice :)
The 4k M3 surely now worth 20k? DP definitely in front here.
Rough engineering section 3. Sprint section 2 pipe.
Filthy habits exhaust is expensive but definitely the best sounding exhaust, different than all the others
Bam
Bimmerworld Exhaust
Go all out, zoomies through the hood.
3 fingers in the front you buy now.
Status Gruppe SCZA muffler hands down.
instead of buying off the shelf, why not just weld up a custom exhaust?
I sugjest magnaflow, best bang/$
Adding light weight material to sit on standard equipment does not a weight reduction
pete tuxford they removed the oem piece and replaced it with the carbon one
11:30 #RIPValveSeals
I think I just saw Billy Mays reincarnated 😅😅
1dickycat no, billy Mayes was actualyya good salesmen...
build a muffler in the shop
Is it supposed to looks this green?
With all the RED suspension components..... #grinchmobile
