    I don’t know why they don’t put Minnie’s eyelashes on her eyelids. Like why do they just stay on her face if you could just put some 3d ones on her eyelids?? That would amplify the effect a lot more as well!

    • @samhamilton8270
      @samhamilton8270 Před 3 lety +36

      The eyelashes are very heavy and probably wouldn’t allow the eyelids to stay up!

    • @UrSammich
      @UrSammich Před 3 lety +33

      I can't remember which character it was, but I think they tried it with some problems. While it would look natural, the eyelashes could, as Sam said, be too heavy which wouldn't allow for the eyelids to properly function or it could also get stuck in the eyelid function which would also resort in problems. Doing it this way allows for the mech to still work and still retain some of the character's key features. After all, it's more important that the character looks believable and look more like their cartoon counter part otherwise you have looks that are more closer to former Disney.

    • @Remhad
      @Remhad Před 3 lety +1

    • @samhamilton8270
      @samhamilton8270 Před 3 lety +1

      I think also having a lot of smaller lashes like humans do would be helpful (cause if you’ve ever felt their lashes they’re surprisingly big lol) but I think the size and heavy-ness helps contribute to keeping the character as cartoon like as possible!

    The talking Mickey at the Magic Kingdom was amazing. The speaker was in Mickey’s ear. The speaking lines and reactions were pre-programmed and the character has to improvise their movements on the fly. This is because the person controlling those lines was in an office near Animal Kingdom, miles away. It was a beautiful system. Budget cuts killed it according to a trainer.

I think that’s incredible!

(She was out front greeting guests.) she kissed me on the forehead and made a kissing sound that sounded just like Minnie’s voice. I looked up and she gave an expression like it was a unique thing she just did. I remember this so vividly and I was so surprised. What the heck happened. Was the technology being tested back then and I was just lucky enough to experience it? Anyway God bless you all.

    Welcome to Pooh Corner tried to create its own tech (and it was pretty awful) but once they teamed up with Jim Henson, Disney relied heavily on that technology and since then have developed it into what we see in theme parks.

    The first time I saw them blink was when watching the last AFV episode with Tom Bergeron where they were at Disney World. It scared the crap out of me and it still freaks me out.

    Very cool info, I would now want to know how do star wars characters "voice line selection" works, cause stormtroopers, for example, use A LOT of diferent voice lines depending on each situation, and I've always been curious about how do they choose the exact line thet want to use...
