    The problem is that you have added google tracking script to your webpages, so regardless of how someone lands on your page, google scripts still run, because you've invited google to track visitors to your page. This has nothing to do with the search engines. The fact that you're showing us the results from google analytics proves my point.
    Your video title is misleading. What you've demonstrated is how to correctly block trackers and I'm sure several tools will do that via some extension or non-Chrome browser. This is not about DuckDuckGo per se. You have trackers on your site and folks need to understand that they need tracker blocker of some kind to stop it.

    Maybe I understood wrong, but you are mixing two different things. Privacy of DDG search engine and privacy of the other website. DDG search engine will not track you and it doesn't save your information. When you click on a result, your browser is redirected to an external website. What happens on the external website has nothing to do with DDG search engine. In your example, the website use google analytic. If you wanna prevent this , it is needed a plugin or a different browser (ie brave) or some trick on your computer. I would say that the first part of the video is totally wrong - DDG search engine is safe for your online privacy

    I use both, depending on what's to be searched. Google Maps is very convenient and the data I leave behind is of nobody's use. For best bargains on a rental vehicle, for example, Duck isn't polarized towards showing the results of their best-paying advertisers first. Therefore, I get best bargain results objectively

    I've never bought anything that's appeared in an internet ad, and can honestly say I never read or listen to any advert...even on CZcams. I actually find adverts an annoyance and if I became aware of an advert it'd probably put me against the product.
    Yeah, I know that advertising is what's funding a lot of the internet...but I for one am not buying the products...

    I am going to tell you something. Before SEO's back in the day, Google was the worst of the search engines. Its only advantage was that it advertised everywhere. Today, I will primarily use Duck Duck go, especially if I am looking for something off the wall, something where the people didn't pay to be featured first. If I know something I need to find can be found easier using Google and their billions of gigabytes of info they have on everyone, I will go there, but they are rarely my first choice.

    I'm the same way, I really love the ideal of Duck Duck Go, and do have it installed and only used it as a search engine until watching this. I have since added it as an extension, thanks for that.
    However, I really enjoy Google despite the tracking and monopoly it seems:) I feel so hypocritical too because of that:) Man, I've had the same Gmail account for probably approaching 20-years. • @xcoder1122
    @xcoder1122 Před 2 lety

    But that's just because the extension acts as a tracker blocker and so does every tracker blocker out there, like uBlock, Adblock, Ghostery, and so on. And Google can only know what people are doing on your page if you add their tracking code there, what nobody has to do. If you want to know what pages users are opening, you can track that directly on the webserver yourself and guess what, blocking trackers cannot prevent that from happening as they cannot block the page you are currently on, otherwise it would come up empty. They only block calls to external services and only if these are known tracking services.

  • @CyberiusT
    @CyberiusT Před 2 lety

    DDG queries drive me up the freakin' wall, sometimes. Double-quotes around a term make that mandatory in the results - except when they don't. And they don't bother telling you that at the time, either - you get to find out by reading the page for Russian stoat husbandry that has inexplicably turned up instead and figure out for yourself that nowhere in the article are either of your keywords mentioned, let alone together and in the order you specified.
