What To Look For In A BUCK RUB

I’ll be honest, not until the last 5 years or so did I really pay attention to rubs very much. I saw them, admired them, but kind of moved on unless it was a cluster of them near bedding or a signpost rub. ‪@bowhuntingfiend7098‬ and a few others have opened my eyes to analyzing rubs differently.
We talked about this in the Mountain Bucks Scouting Camp and showed some examples of different rubs.

I learned something I never did pay attention to the surrounding trees when I'm looking in a rub I'll have to check that out

I watched a 11 or 12 inch wide yr and a half old 7 pt rub the crap out of and shine a sumac that was as big or bigger than a softball. And he actually hit it twice in like a week right under me I was shocked that little buck made such a big rub

This rub looks knee high. But hit that tree way behind. A sign that the “big bucks rub higher on trees” is not always true.
