These are some outstanding lessons! So so helpful!
Interesting that works are required for salvation but not done by us but by Christ. So well explained.
Interesting to that judgement is required for our salvation and we are saved from the wrath of God.
    Thankyou Justin and GA.

    • @dimantha12
      @dimantha12 Před 3 lety +1

Yes, it seemed very simple for the thief on the cross!
We get a peek into one moment in the life of this thief and come to conclusions, as Scripture gives no record of what happened in his life in the immediate past leading up to his crucifixion. So, people simply assume that there was no turning away, no repentance in his life, no surrender to Christ, but he was saved by a mere profession he made, by mere head knowledge.
Does anyone know what transpired in the life of this man since the time he was convicted as a criminal, put in prison and hung on a cross… The fact that Scripture gives no record of what happened in his life does not mean nothing happened.
Since the time he was convicted & while he was in prison, can anyone say he did not come to know Christ, that he never got to know about Christ & His teachings, that He called people to repentance & forgave sins. Can one assume that this man did not repent of his sins & surrender to God? That as he submitted in his brokenness, his heart was prepared by God, by the time he finally physically met Jesus hanging on a Cross side by side & physically spoke with Jesus.
Jesus in his omniscience saw & knew everything about this man and gave him the promise “You will be with me in paradise”.
We in our puny limited minds see only one moment of this man’s life, where he makes a profession about Christ, and jump to conclusions, without knowing anything that happed prior to this event in his life.
We see the tip of the iceberg of his life (as the Scriptures only record this). But Jesus saw the whole iceberg & spoke accordingly in His wisdom, Jesus knew what He was saying & doing. We don’t!
This man could very well be someone who repented and turned in submission and was saved by Jesus Christ by His Grace.

SALVATION IS A GIFT FROM GOD
HOW IMPORTANT IS ETERNITY TO YOU?
There is one God, eternally existing in three distinct co-equal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
      Deuteronomy 6:4
      KJV
4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:
      Matthew 28:19
      KJV
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Ephesians 4:4-6
      KJV
      4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
      Colossians 2:9
      KJV
9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
      1 John 5:7 KJV
7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23. In fact in Romans 3:9-20 the Apostle Paul gives a very negative view of each and every one of us. He says there is none righteous, none that doeth good, unprofitable, none that understandeth, liars, destruction and misery are in our ways.
All the world is guilty before God (Romans 3:19). It is God’s law that declares each and every one of us as guilty before him, and therefore as Paul declares by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight. The word “justified” means to be found free of guilt. The law cannot justify us because it’s the very thing that declares our guilt.
      Romans 3:9-20
      KJV
      9 What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;
10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:
14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:
15 Their feet are swift to shed blood:
16 Destruction and misery are in their ways:
17 And the way of peace have they not known:
18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.
19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
God is a just and righteous judge. God must be legally and morally right in all that he does. His righteousness and justice will not allow Him to justify a guilty man, therefore the dilemma is how can God justify the guilty and he himself remain just?
Hell is a hot holding place of torment where UNRIGHTEOUS Guity unjustified soul's Go then for eternity for there sins it's called the second death Hell will be thrown into the lake of Fire in the future and the Guity unjustified into the lake of fire also (Second death) for Sin for everlasting destruction scary stuff God is to be FEARED and believed.
      Revelation 20:14
      KJV
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
      Revelation 21:8
      KJV
8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
      But there is Hope
      Romans 6:23
      KJV
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
God’s righteousness without the law has been revealed
      Romans 3:21 KJV
21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;.
And this righteousness is revealed in the gospel of Christ Romans 1:16-17 KJV
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith..
This gospel is defined in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, as “how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; (Shedding he's BLOOD onto death)And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures”.(God raised Jesus Christ from the dead Bodily and he saw no corruption)
      Acts 13:37
      KJV
37 But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.
And this gospel now declares God’s righteousness “that he might be JUST and the JUSTIFIER of him which BELIEVETH in Jesus (Romans 3:26).
Therefore, God’s Son (Fully Human without Sin and Fully God Born from the Virgin Mary and eternally existing God manifested in the flesh) the Lord Jesus Christ took, our guilt upon himself and died under our own condemnation to appease the justice and righteousness of God (Romans 3:25), and now God will FREELY justify any man (Romans 3:24) who simply believes the gospel of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ,
      Romans 3:24-26
      KJV
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
      25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
      Ephesians 1:13
      King James Version
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
And if you believe the gospel(1 Corinthians 15:1-4 )you are now secured in Christ sealed and have the promise of the Spirit and the gift of eternal Life not appointed to everlasting destruction and
According to the Word of God you can not lose salvation so no hell for the Justified. But it's God who justifies the ungodly you can not justify yourself by being Good enough or performance for example and the Word of God confirms your security everlasting life appointed to heaven with God to the saved
Because God cannot Lie Trust him.
What must I do to be saved? Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved (Acts 16:30-31). Religion tells you to do something, God says his Son did it all, believe on him.

You do error in this teaching.......Eph 2:8 is stating that Grace and the Faith to Believe, comes from the Powerful working of the Holy Spirit, which was sent to convict men of there sins. One can not be born-again by the works of the will of man, IT all comes from the Father as a Gift through the Holy Spirit, as John teaches us; Joh 6:65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.
1:04:42 through the HOLY SPIRIT, which you have evaded throughout this whole teaching. We are Born-Again by the Power working of the Holy Spirit to convict us of our sins, by the opening of our ears to hear, and the eyes to see. HE causes us to believe because HE grants us the Gift to believe, through the faith of Christ towards God. Also in Romans 5, you failed to mention where this "Love" of God comes from, given to us; Rom 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
How do we obtain this Love? By the Holy Spirit, the Fear of God is granted to those who are Born from Above, the Holy Spirit, when HE grants, the GIFT of Repentance unto Salvation according to His Will and Purpose for our lives.
You are in fact teaching a "works" salvation by the will of man to believe. That is not God given Grace according to His Word, His Will and His Purpose. I pray the Lord grant you the Grace to receive the whole truth, His Truth, not according to the Bible University diploma which granted you the permission to teach or be a Pastor. If you are not chosen of the Lord to preach or be a pastor, then your office is not sanctioned by Him, but of your own fleshly heart.

Repentance is not a work we do to earn salvation. No one can repent and come to God unless God pulls that person to Himself. John 6:44 Repentance is something God gives--it is only possible because of His grace Acts 5:31 11:18. No one can repent unless God grants repentance. All of salvation, including repentance and faith, is a result of God drawing us, opening our eyes, and changing our hearts. God longsuffering leads us to repentance 2 Peter 3:9 as does kindness Romans 2:4.Repentance is not a work that earns salvation but it does produce works as a result of it. @@dimantha12 I agree with this verse and it's interpretation. When it comes to mans responsibility and God's Sovereignty we can't understand how the two run parallel as truths. Scripture doesn't contradict itself.
As stated above God is 100% Sovereign in all matters of man and man is responsible to respond to the call of God through His son Jesus Christ. The reason we are having this conversation is the mere reality that one teaching from scripture is accepted and the other is tossed out and therefore misunderstood.
We have to accept both teachings per scripture as His word and trust in both teachings. Taking in the fact that scripture interprets scripture we have to accept all of his word.
God controls by divine decree and sovereign power everything that goes on in the world according to his own purposes, that does not remove one iota of culpability from those that do evil. Evildoers do evil not because they are forced to, but by their own evil intent. So God will judge them for both the act and the motive, as well as for their failure to give Him glory and to worship Him.
See in Act's 2 during Peter's sermon on the day of Pentecost, he said, "Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know---this man, delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to the cross by the hands of the godless men and put him to death vv 22-23.
Christ died under His authority, in His timing and according to His plan. And yet Israel was guilty of their hand in His death and for their failure to believe in Him as Messiah.
We can see contrasting truths of divine sovereignty and human responsibility over and over again, in every part of God's word. There's is no inspired explanations that spells out the relationship between these two teachings. We need to be careful in attempting to conform God's divine decrees to our own feeble sense of fairness. We need to remember that it's not our job to hold God to whatever standards our meager minds can reason as fair.

34 Then Peter opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God shows NO PARTIALITY. 35 But in every nation whoever fears Him and WORKS RIGHTEOUSNESS is accepted by Him.
Does this sound like…in every nation God will pick whom He pleases?
NO, it says…in every nation WHOEVER fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him…In fact this is the correct understanding of NO PARTIALITY.
Vs 35, How could the spiritually dead work righteousness?
      Acts 17:26-30
      26 And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, 27 so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us;
Its clear people can seek Him and find Him…The Word says, He is not far from each one of us.
Yes of course, God makes the first move, He initialize, He first loved us, God is the first cause of salvation, I fully agree…but man responds out of His free will…God does not blow the flute like the Pied Piper & get men to follow Him…This is not what Sovereignty is.
