In this the traditional reading of Paul with plight then solution is turned on its head to be solution that reveals out plight. That in itself is valuable in refocusing evangelism.

37:40 Not sure how he can say 'Our salvation is already given and complete in Christ' when we have not been raised by the Spirit yet.

"We don't know why people have worth." Thomas Jefferson answered that perfectly well. Either it is self-evident to YOU or it is not. The patriots fought a war over it. The North won a war to prove that Jefferson was wrong about slavery. That is the "moral arc of the universe" that so many have talked about. We are the ones who bend it to our will. Or we don't.

After listening to all of this, i am reminded of tao, which regards bad as necessary entailment of the good. The tao is actually the sublime.

"self-evident" is just a vacuous statement, but on what logical basis?
If your basis is on scripture when people are created in the Image of God, or in what Barclay talks about the unconditioned gift of grace from God, which makes us have worth.

@@martinoheat1712 No logical basis. It is just a claim. Or a leap of faith.
