If you want a commemorative belt, just get WWE/TKO to make one, just like they do now with customized front & side plates on them just like the Pro Football & Pro Bowling ones... Who knows, you might get them to make special decade series Superstar belts, like a DX Belt, Cena Spinner, Vinnie-Mac Belt ,or what/whomever Belt.

It should come out later that Finn paid the ref to not count the three. But idk I guess that would make the ref look bad.

@@younglee6094 I think it's because Vince wanted to remove all attention from the reffs and make them faceless entities. Remember there was a time where announcers would refrain or be told not to use the reffs name
Or Drew threatened the ref not to count a three until he got out there. That way the ref doesn't look like he's a shady ref who took payment
2:45 my head cannon is the reason why someone's entrance music playing stopping a pinfall count is because the ref knows the fans will not be paying attention to the pin, and no matter if the wrestler kicks out, no one will see it. Also, if the wrestler does NOT kick out, the time keeper will not hear the reff calling for the bell over the sound of the music. So, NY head cannon is the referee intentionally stops the court to preserve the entertainment of the "show" aspect of the match, rather than the "competition" aspect of the match.
For me, a ref stops when they hear music is due to fear or inference. Remember it’s a ref job to make sure a match ends clean so when they hear music they know someone is going to come down and interfere so they have to make sure he doesn’t do that so has to stop the pin
@curtailedbike4123 but the argument is the fact that by the time the ref gets to the ring once the music plays, there's no physical way they could break up the pin.
My thoughts are the wrestler pinning getting distracted and maybe intentionally, maybe subconsciously, they let off the pin cause of confusion or fear of whoever music hits.
@@Randomperson-ht2ey That's the correct way it's been done in the past. But it also makes the pinner look like a dumbass so I don't blame them for not using that angle with a guy like Rollins. Better to just have Priest kick out, the music cue breaking up a pin is more of a Vince trope.
They should really pivot this into The Judgement Day 'paying off' the ref to not count the 3 to further them "helping" Priest without coming out like he said. Would be the best way to turn it into a not terrible situation.

What? You realize that to maintain kayfabe they'd have to fire that referee and he could basically never work in the WWE again, or else every match they put him on would be controversial. Unless the guy was planning on retiring that's a very short-sighted way to try and solve what is a simple problem. Just ignore it. It was a botch. It doesn't matter.
If somebody misses the cue on a run in or somebody doesn't kick out, you always count the three. I believe that was always Vince’s stance on these types of situations.
noticed riho hurt on collision. she didn't really get caught on a dive to the outside and landed wrist first. spend the rest of the match favoring it and didn't really move her fingers at all. i was pumped to see riho back finally. >_

Yeah I saw that, it looked rough. I hate dive spots on that side of the ring -- there's so little space.
Problem with most wrestlers is their inability to work on the fly instead of rigidly staying on script. In 2005 Muhammad Hassan was booked to beat Benoit on Raw and the ending was botched (ring bell). So Benoit didn't "look weak" they told him to kickout and they did a DQ finish instead.
Such a shame. I'm a big Damian Priest fan as I think he's excellent, but it's a bad mistake. They could get around it creatively by doing some hocus where Finn paid the ref to not have Damian lose, and that would play into the story of Finn still intefering in Damian's matches. Or they could just leave it alone and never bring it up.

It was barely a mistake at all, so calling it a "bad mistake" is just comical as it did nothing to change the flow or outcome of the match

The guy playing Damian Priest didn't kick out when he should've, it was a huge botch. The ref, in kayfabe, should've kept counting, outside of kayfabe he didn't keep counting cause the script said Priest wins. Explain the kayfabe genius.
What’s the point? They don’t have enough women for that many titles. It will be a joke like AEW, where 20% of the roster hold some title.
They should have either counted the three and reworked the storyline to have Priest win back the belt in a rematch on Raw (where we can do all of the cash in shenanigans if we want) *or* Triple H should have maintained kayfabe about it in the press conference. I couldn’t believe he admitted it was a botch because they could have convincingly played it as a work, “Finn payed off the referee” or something. I think they need to be more careful about shattering the suspension of disbelief, just because I know it's scripted doesn't mean I want to have to ever acknowledge that when I'm watching.
Don't expect everyone to have a Jim Cornette mindset. People know it's scripted , could've been handled better? Definitely.

I’d rather Triple H say, “We'll be talking to the referee to see what he saw, he must have seen something that we couldn’t” rather than acknowledge it was a botch.

I love the idea of women's midcard titles! They just have to... y'know, actually utilize and promote the women's title matches. plus I still think they should've come up with new titles instead of taking the men's titles and changing the strap color, that's lazy. the Diva's title could even be unretired as a midcard title
I can't believe Priest just didn't kick out. I was so confident it was a production botch, that seemed so much more likely than just simply miss timing the kickout, especially from someone as experienced as Priest.

Was at MITB live and before the main event they were playing the audio for the pre match trailer montage but didn’t show us any visuals until about the last 45 seconds of it… everyone in the crowd was confused and I could see the trailer playing on production monitors just not in the venue… kinda took me away from it, lots of weird production issues for sure
Riho who is built like a twig is injured again? She either needs to bulk up and/or avoid risky moves because if she does not, she's going to be on the shelf a lot. But then again they are paid even while injured so maybe this is on purpose? Kidding aside I hope for her speedy recovery and I genuinely want her to bulk up just a little bit, so her body can endure more bumps. Tougher body, less injuries = longer career.

Women's midcard belts are necessary. The trios title is unnecessary when you don't even have enough regular tag teams to make the tag team titles matter. Especially when they were designed to keep the Young bucks from doing a job to FTR.
There isn’t that many the women need them, several came out looking strong and mid are tournaments for them would be amazing

You add belts for a reason, not just because you want more belts. It’s next to impossible to elevate solo female talent to be top contenders because there’s no midcard belt to have them contend for and prove themselves, so if you want to do an angle where Liv or Rhea holds the belt for a long time, for example, that comes at the expense of the other women down the match card because they’re only vying for the opportunity to be squashed.
You know what AEW has that WWE doesn’t? Everyone has a title…..now WWE will have just as many and women barely get screen time as it is and now they need twice as much creative. I don’t see this lasting to be honest.
Are we sure Finn simply didn't just pay off the ref because he didn't believe Priest couldn't do it alone? Just before that match, he made that "Whatever you want" comment.
But seriously, that wouldn't be a terrible pivot. Vince is gone, refs have their names back.. Why not give one a little story. Suspend him for a little bit or something. Hard to ignore and can't imagine Seth won't call this out on RAW.

We don't need more titles, we need more good storylines. That's true for both men's and women's divisions.

I think one mid card womens title, the TV title, would be great. Would be defended on both brands, and ONLY on weekly TV. Not every night, once a month just like a PLE. Build it up as a special TV event. Great title for Chelsea . Be the first to have it, defend it a few times while Lyra is built up. Lyra takes it and goes into a feud with Shayna. Keep rolling from there.
I’m just happy Priest wasn’t clocked out for a minute. Screwing up happens, no biggie, but no one wants to see the guy hurt.

As much as the idea of new mid card titles sounds good, I don’t like it. For one, they wouldn’t be original names/titles, just women’s versions of what exists and creatively that sucks.
Second, WWE can’t even book any of their current women’s champions well! Tell me what credible challenger Liv or Rhea has had? Or what good feud Bayley had? Or what the tag champs are up to?
They need to fix a lot first
But that’s the point, Rhea and Liv don’t have credible challengers because there’s so little in the way of stepping stones to get to that level. Outside of veteran talent who’ve held the belt before and are therefore potential champions in the eyes of fans, it’s too hard for somebody to maintain enough momentum to make them a credible challenger for the main belt in general. You can give somebody a mid card title and use that to help elevate them in the minds of fans. If you’re a solo wrestler/new talent not at the top of the women’s division what’s there for you to chase?
... and Santina Marella still qualifies for both men's & women's belts!
The point at that time was about a PPV Women Royal Rumble & I called the winner out of my memory from years past with Santino/Santina not being active for years... Even voted other on WWE website and filled in the blank & got a response from them for the amazing pick, my Cultaholic Friend . 💯👍

There's too many belts, especially as they only have 5 matches at ple's now. For me, they should unify the existing US and IC belts to 1 title, then add 1 womens mid card title and leave them on opposite brands

@@23lacross There is a moment where if you look back, it looks like Damien may have taken a knee to the head when he was moving Seth around so they could reverse into the Falcon Arrow. I can only assume it may have stunned him.
he was told not to kick out because their would be music and Drew coming down to stop it, not that hard to figure out, unless you are being a hater on purpose which I believe you are, you can even see Priest tap Rollins leg to let him know he was fine, so stfu
@@BlakeMaddox-ln6uu There's been no official confirmation on what happened and the fact that there are several theories at the moment shows that its not as clear cut as you make it out to be. Though considering how Triple H talked at the Press Conference about how Priest was angry at himself, it seems a bit more likely that Priest was intended to kick out but did not. For what reason, we don't know. Regardless, Priest is a great performer and accidents happen.

I'm all for Women's midcard Championships but could we try with original names? WWE Liberty Championship to match the United States, and admittedly I'm lost for an original name to match the Intercontinental but there's gotta be something.

Then he stopped and indicated Priest's shoulder had risen when it didn't appear to...I'm guessing the music was supposed to hit but when it didn't he called an audible. I thought he did a good job but the wrestlers looked so confused lol
I don't think HHH books women champs well. I'm worried the mid card belts would be on par with how he books the women's tag. Even both Rhea and Liv's title reigns feel like they took a backseat for the Judgment Day storyline.
