@iKamper thoughts? I’m disappointed, for something at this price point, I definitely wouldn’t buy another one. I’m definitely looking to add something to my Tacoma. #Ikamper iKamper Mini 3.0
I just have to say that I really appreciate some no B.S., honest reviews. So many reviews of expensive items on CZcams just sound like advertisements for the product. I like hearing the good and the bad!
I too have about 30 nights in my Skycamp mini 3. The feature upgrades on the 2.0 are well thought out and effective. Worth the upgrade...that will depend on the person.
I really appreciate your honesty. I have the iKamper Skycamper 2.0 Mini on my Jeep Gladiator. I haven’t had any real issues with it. I agree with you, the mattress could be better.
Appreciate the review. I just installed my mini 3.0. Going to put it to the test across Tahoe, mammoth, sequoia, and oceano dunes in the coming weeks. Will take all of your points into consideration and see if I want to keep mine by the end of it. Cheers
Amen Brother! I couldn’t agree more with your comments. Thankfully mine is a mini 1.0 and if I recall it was $3500. Totally stoked about having it in the beginning but now all I think about is how much it was in comparison to my REI passport ($250) ground tent. That tent even let’s me leave without basically breaking camp to use my ride. I purchased a exped mattress right away eventually ended up buying the new iKamper “Sleep System” for $350. Have slept on iKampers mattress one time and agree it’s like sleeping on the ground. Every day I use it I think about selling it to the next RTT desiring soul! Love hate relationship! Good luck on your journeys!
Happy belated birthday. Ive been putting off buying a roof tent because I on the one side dont eant to be disappointed spending 5k if i may not like something about it. Because in our ground tent, with our exped mega mat duo and sleeping bags we sleep like at home. However, it isnt a "quick" deploying tent. But thanks for your honesty, you stopped me once again from biting the bullet on a rtt, ikamper is just one of few premium ones I was kinda considering.
Good honest review. I have the same tent. Have not had the issues you have but a few other ones of my own. Just very minor personal gripes that I would not have if not for the price. However I did a lot of research before picking this tent and apples to apples I think this is a very good choice for my purpose. Overall quality is superior to the Chinese made brands. Hate the price point but the prices are ridiculous due to the overlanding craze going on. I also have a 4Runner, as well as a Tacoma and Outback and love that the Skycamp Mini’s light weight can be placed in any of my vehicles. Thanks for the tip in the ladder rubbing the rain fly. Happy trails.
Thank you for the honest review. With so many manufacturers at so many price points, it can result in analysis paralysis. Which I'm currently experiencing. ;-) In my case I need a long sleeping area which rules out some models. My current finalists are the iKamper Mini, the Roofnest Condor and the OVS Bushveld II. REI sells the iKamper which gives me a bit more peace of mind in case there are any return issues. Thanks again and I hope you had a great trip!

Thanks! Honest review and down to earth. I have an iKamper also. Two years ongoing. The Mini 2.0.
Thanks for the review. Mattress and storing bedding in it are the two main things I want. You saved me some dough!
Great, honest review, thank you.
You got a sub from me dude as soon as you said it was a grumpy old man review 👊👊

Best honest opening to a review video I’ve ever seen. Thank you.
