- Toronto Police recently told residents at a town hall that the best thing to do in case of a home invasion by auto thieves is to leave your keys and fobs at the front door. Doesn't this sound like the police telling the public to just surrender?
It's time Canadians took back their right to defend themselves and their property. The cops have proven they are useless.

Esentially, you must wait til the burglar is in the act of murdering your family to act in defense. The precedent set in Canada, is that when a law abiding citizens uses lethal force against an intruder- they are charged.

If a criminal breaks into your home, laws or not they forfeit their right to live at that point. You don't know what their Intentions are and you need to defend yourself.
I honestly wish this was true. Section 34 & 35 in the Canadian criminal code is murky so proving that you acted in self defence is very difficult. Mistake of fact/truth is often used in these cases, making it even harder to figure out whether the accused may be prosecuted.

My father lives in Scarborough, the place that has so much crime it sounds like the worst part of Toronto on daily news. I worry about him all the time! I'm no lock picking expert and had like 1 hour experience picking locks and was able to open every lock on and in my apartment fairly easily

Maybe citizens should tell their police officers to leave their guns and badges at the police station door as they leave after being fired for incompetence. Then maybe the politicians could be inspired to do the same.
