sid98geek just buy the xbox elite thumbsticks and swap out the normal ps4 ones with them. they're only $20 and it's easy to do

Cotton Swipe the buttons are basically more durable and has lights. Usually when I used to try the old one I had trouble clicking the buttons while doing hardcore gaming.

This Dualschock Generation 2. has a new Lightbar and other new things and came with the ps4 pro and ps4 slim

J Pachuta you can turn off the light bar, just open the ds4 and disconnect the cable to the light bar, some say that you can even change the battery.

Assuming this is the same new design that comes with the Pro, then no. Or at least, I haven't noticed a difference. That said, I haven't really run into issues with the battery life anyway.
The improvement comes from direct USB connection. The old controllers would still use charge while they were plugged in, but the connection would just charge them faster than they used it. Which mean't that after a lot of use, you could charge the controller for hours and have it still die in a matter of minutes because it used more charge faster as it wore down. The new ones shut off bluetooth when plugged in so that they actually charge properly.

I use this pad for Retropie and it's great! The dpad is the best I've seen for fighting games.

It’s the exact same controller except there’s a light bar on the touchpad and rubber doesn’t fade on the analog sticks. It’s worth it if you still haven’t got an new controller since launch.

Jawaah no they didn't I've bought 6 controllers all bought with since release and anyway best way to fix it is to buy control freaks knockoffs of eBay 2 quid and my new controller has survived a year finally and when I lift the thumb sticks to reveal original ones they still have a ruff texture on them not smooth or missing parts like my others

You are or incredibly unlucky or reckless with your controller. After a half year still good. Probably will last 1 and a half years before me returning it to the store.
I have a ps4 slim with this controller and I wanted a second so I bought the old version the light bar on the dualshock v2 is the best in GTA 5 when the cops are in persuit I love the new redisigned controller!

Its a motion sensor, btw I like it not just because of a sensor, but the light is still cool.
