  • Welcome back to the channel! In this video we are showing how to remove the roof antenna on my 2014 Silverado in preparation for wrapping the truck. This process should be very similar on the 2014-2019 Silverado and Sierra models as well as the Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, and Escalade.

    This video is spot on. I replaced my antenna in one hour and it was my first time. The part was $80 online. The dealer wanted 500 for parts and labor. Thanks

      What’s the difference between the antenna that has the 1 plug clip on the end vs the antenna that has the 2 plug clips on the end?? How would you know which one your vehicle needs???

    so my on star was a little different instead of having the clip that pulled out it was saudered in, once removed it gave me a check engine light saying no communication to fuel pump... but i know there is communication bc my truck starts and drives just fine. can you suggest anything?

    Wrap looks good. I’ve been considering wrapping my 2015 Sierra. Its got the white diamond tricoat but it has the issue where the paint is flaking away in random places and I’m not a fan of that

    • @TheSundaeDrive
      @TheSundaeDrive  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks! Definitely could wrap it but you would want to get those places fixed first or the missing paint will show through on the wrap. Wrap is only a few mill thick so any imperfections show through. Also, because of how poor the paint is on these trucks, expect a lot of paint to lift when you remove the wrap. Possibly during install too :(

    If it was permanently removed, how did you take care of the hole left in the roof? Considering removing mine for aesthetics (don't like it on my roof), but worried what to do w/the leftover hole/gap!

      You would need to go to a good body shop and have them fill and paint it. Needs to be well done tho.

    Just did mine. Replaced to attempt to fix the info center/GPS from scrambling. Apparently, replacing antenna is the fix, not replacing screen unit.

      I've never had an issue with that actually. Even before deleting afm it was ok. I have heard that installing a range device helps some people?

      The video I took on the 2016 is very similar. You'll need to drill out the plastic welds on the middle piece to separate them then I use 3m tape to re-install it
