The first mission with Savimbi is absolutely fucking worth it. But Black Ops 3 sucks and has absolutely no connection to the original Black Ops series. So I hope he doesn't play Black Ops 3. Infinite Warfare had a better campaign than Black Ops 3.
Veteran Alpha COD stopped being good after BO2 the new modern warfare was decent.

The story in this game is never really over. Once you complete the campaign, you can spam the triggers in the main menu to exit the chair and explore to find additional clues. Collecting all the intel will also help you piece together the parts it skips over. Even the audible numbers broadcasts are decipherable. Even having reviewed everything, I still don't feel like I have everything worked out. I jotted down some outlines for an anthology book to fill in the gaps myself, but I never got around to properly starting it

A few tips: Pentrechko was Dimirtri from WAW, If u spray at somones arms or legs in either WAW or black ops there bodyparts will fall off. Hipfire shotguns the iron sights aren't good and there plenty accurate from the hip same thing with the MP40 in real life the Mp40 was made for german soliders for the sole purpose of hipfiring. You also said u recongnized the voice of Bowman thats the voice of Ice cube. Also Bo3 ruined the story so don't bother playing the second one is good tho.

It didn't ruin the story, it's not really even connected at all. It was super weird though, and kinda hamfisted the whole transhumanism thing.
Lmao the mp40 in real life was waaay more stable and accurate compared to the ppsh. The mp40 is not specifically made for hipfiring, nobody has ever said that.
Jeremy Lim The fact it has a slower rate of fire and uses 9x19 Parabellum already makes the recoil minimal compared to the PPSH, he has his facts backwards.

you were right this game WAS VERY ahead of its time, and its one of the VERY FEW Vietnam Era AAA shooters made, i remember when the game came out lots of ppl including myself thought the TTK wasnt as good compared to MW2 and it wasnt until a few weeks of playing and getting used to BLOPS1 online, that i started to enjoy it much more

You should check out insurgency sandstorm it’s a realistic military game it’s a very different experience from call of duty and I think you might enjoy it there’s some pretty sick gameplay and trailers

Yes the voice of Bowman is Ice Cub and Masion is Sam Worthington and Rezanov is voice by Gary Oldman, at 43:32 my grand father did this type of mission in the Vietnam war with the 25th infantry Tropic Thunder Hawaii. Great game Luke
SPOILER ALERT!
Reznov actually died right after Mason escapes the prison. Mason was actually hallucinating that Reznov is with him the whole time. Hense why Woods and the rest of the crew doesn't interact with "Reznov". The hallucination of "Reznov" is actually him.

WW2 mission was so good example of Reusing the previous game sources.
Stuff like what happened in the tunnels with the graphics is probably because this is a PC port of a console game. It happens.

I remember playing these missions as a kid. So memorable with the WaW extra mission, and going into Nam fucking shit up with the Sog knife and grim reaper. The music is great and brings back so many memories
Just think that so far you've been twice in Vietnam (but in completely different settings), In Russia, in Kazakistan, in China, in the North Pole in the 40es, in the US and in Cuba. This Is how you make feel an fps less repetitive

Theres a cool trick you can do If you want when in the main menu you press both triggers repeatedly really fast and you break out of the chair you’re strapped down to and you can walk around and interact with things
Fun fact the guy who reznov is talking about and the guy you talk to during the snow mission is the main character you play in World at War!! Great we finally see what happens of Petrenko and Reznov😁

Haven't played Black Ops for a long time, lioke 7-8 years and in my head it's really messed up, I know the key points of plot, but some things are like WHAAAAAAT.

I guess the reason why there's such a disparity between narrative techniques between the Modern Warfare trilogy and Black Ops is simply because Modern Warfare is literally just meant to be Call of Duty set in the present time. Call of Duty was founded by a team of developers who separated from the group who made the Medal of Honor series, and Call of Duty was sort of set up as an alternative to Medal of Honor's more romantic and Hollywood-ized depiction of the Second World War. The whole concept was that the game would put you behind the eyes of a generic soldier and have you experience the events of World War 2 as they happened, there wasn't any overarching plot and you weren't anyone special, you just started off every level with a briefing and a map and then you followed through with the mission. Modern Warfare was just that set in 2011.
Black Ops on the other hand was created in the vein of Modern Warfare, which after MW2 was known more for its story than its depiction of our present day conflicts, and so when they started working on the campaign for Black Ops they envisioned a more Movie like Narrative, sort of like a James Bond type conspiracy thriller set during the early years of the Cold War. They even went so far as to load up their main cast with Hollywood actors such as Gary Oldman, Ed Harris, Sam Worthington, and Ice Cube to really make it feel like its a freakin' action film. And the success of this single-player story mode is what really started the trend of these one-man army slaughter fests you see in Call of Duty titles and other FPS games during the 2010 period.
In the mission "all ghillied up" you never stay 100% sneaky all the way through. In the mission immediately following, "one shot one kill" you get caught but that's a different mission.
In modern warfare the gameplay moves the story and in WW/black ops the story moves the gameplay. (Past tense for them really)

Black ops 3 is a spiritual successor, not a direct sequel. I've only played it once but it's a game where you have to keep your eyes peeled for all the details and once you are finished watch an analysis video of the plot to make sure you get a complete grasp.
The fact you need to watch an analysis video to understand the plot shows how poorly done the story was in my opinion. I wouldn’t have minded it as much if the story was at least interesting, but the setting and characters are all really forgettable.

As a Vietnamese, I'm pretty sure that the Vietnamese don't really speak like that, Northern VNese people don't dress like in the "Victor Charlie" mission and the NVA did not issue FAL as standard assault rifle at all like in the mission in Hue City
Yeah, a lot of the uniforms and equipment used throughout the game aren't very accurate in regards to the units and locations depicted. It's not just the PAVN forces, but a lot of the weaponry and devices used by the American units either weren't used or just didn't exist during the time this game is set.
In fact, I don't really remember a single level in BO1 in which weaponry is depicted entirely correct. Perhaps only the Arctic mission?
