Mark is doing great on camera! He really grew into his role at G&G, soon he will get the honorary Ben title
Medium Ben
@@CaLypsoGaming1Big Ben
Since he always keep an eye to the cars as a mechanic. Why don't we call it "Ben Watching".
@@CaLypsoGaming1 Beefy ben.
Since he’s building stuff for the cars he can be the “Building Ben”
Mark really has a good speaking voicee on camera, it's calming but not boring. this video really makes mark shine as a presenter
I can't be the only one who thinks Mark sounds like Robert Downey Junior
@@isjuspaulmarkey downie junior
@@isjuspaulNow that you said it, I can hear it
Ambatakum
He also looks like his sponsored from valvaline.
The K siting next to the beat really shows how tiny they are!
one of the few times a 2 liter looks big haha
Story of my life
Would’ve liked to have seen a CBR liter engine in this thing, but this is still a nice choice regardless. Mark’s also killing it with his presence on the channel, glad to see him be apart of the team.
SuperfastMatt has a great build wirh an old Honda s600 and Honda liter bike engine.
nah mate, look up the VFR800 swap, best sound
@jeremyb4493 you mean had. It's blown to bits and another one of his projects on the back burner 😂
Black bird 1100 or a larger touring engine could be better like work one posted a VFR
They have no bottom end but get super spicy at RPM. I say yes to any option recommended so far.
Mark is brilliant should definitely do more videos like this he’s a great asset to the G&G team ❤
Mark is a great addition to the G&G team and awesome on camera regarding on presenting
Honestly Thumbed up for the fact that even after the overhaul was complete there was still a problem and you showed that problem as well as your methods to fix it. Love how honest G&G is!
Luke, Andy and Mark are honorary 3rd hosts of G&G.
Lukes gone 😞 bro went to college
@@humza5842 was wondering where he was lately
I really hope you give this guy a raise because he did a lot of work
That exhaust sits right behind the driver and ecu, which tends to cook the components in the ecu. That's probably why the exhaust was wrapped. There is an ecu harness extension that moves it away from the heat, just don't remember the site... also, honda jazz calipers make a good front break upgrade.
i love hearing little bits of information like this that only dedicated kei owners would know
beginning of the vid basically beeing like oh yeah let mark do the work lol. love it
to be fair that's what they hired him for
Good choice, a motorcycle engine swap would have been super fun also as long as you could get a reverse mechanism to fit in the chassis.
Reverse isn’t even necessary in this car. It’s so easy to push. Lol
@@hellfire08Probably not if you're alone.
@@yongling9825as someone who has owned multiple beats. You can push it with 1 leg out the door.
Imagine a hayabusa engine in that…
@@hellfire08 yes but having reverse added would just top it off and make it more polished as a build.
Marks cadence is perfect. No overly enthusiastic and not too boring and under enthusiastic 😅
Any falsely enthusiastic CZcams jerkoff gets turned off immediately...
I really enjoy seeing more Mark on this channel, it really feels like both Bens and Mark all have their own style and they all have good chemistry. I can feel a 3 car road trip in the works
Watching guys like Mark work makes me wish I had trained to be a mechanic.
I like how Mark’s facial hair shows the passage of time
At first, I almost didn't recognize him. Then the facial hair started growing in. LOL
@@michaelblacktree 🤣🤣
Small, light + low power cars really are just unbeatable fun on the road. Cheap to run and maintain too. This video makes me want to downsize my ride
unBEATable, one might say 😅😂😂
I'll see myself out 🚪🏃

I’m a Honda guy and watching him put in 75w90 Just hurts my soul. Short term everything should be fine. However, you were going to develop shifting issues. The synchro are going to work correctly because of the thick oil. This is going to lead to grinding of gears. I hope you read this before you guys drive this thing.
Not just that he also got the limited slip 75w90 which is going to shred the synchros as well
I wish they could see this
Hi, I'm curious, what grade of oil they should put in instead the 75w90?
If that's GL-5 gear oil (I'm 90% certain it is), I hope his synchros are able to withstand the additives. I literally just replaced my transmission after running this oil not knowing it was specifically meant for differentials, not transmissions.
@@fededz7884 Honda has specific transmission fluid that they use that use a certain friction modifiers. You can also use synchromesh which I believe is made by Valvoline.
YOOO OPERATION HONDA BEATDOWN IS A GO!
hell yeah, had me good with the feigned k-swap at the start.
Ben once said in an FB Story that a K-swap in a Beat is impossible due to the dimensions of the engine bay. When I saw the thumbnail, I was like "I thought you said it's impossible??", then we saw Mark roll in with a different engine.
Mark is a real one, no painting anything, no f-boy hoses. Just mend and send it!
Mark is a great host and the vibes are great. Almost reminds me of Ed China
Pretty sure that was the plan here. It's a good formula, can't blame them for trying it out...but could do without the click bait title.
To check valve lash you have to turn each piston to compression stroke before measuring so the valves are completely closed and the feeler gauge can go in. That is why you found the lash super loose even after double checking.
Loving the beat content,Mark has more then proven himself to be a worthy mechanic and a valuable member of the G&G team!looking forward to the next video as always
You need to let Mark take it for a spin too. After all he’s the one working all that magic with installation and repairs.
This channel just gets better and better and Mark is such a great presenter! Love his addition to the team
Does anyone else think this video might have been sponsored by Valvoline?
The smile at the end, pure joy.
I honestly LOVED this episode, reminded me of Sunday mornings watching hotrod tv with my Dad. Thank guys
Now imagine a Honda Beat with a Kawasaki H2 engine swap. Small motor, small car, boost noises and in the wise words of Jeremy Clarkson POWWWAAAAAER
Dude, Mark is super chill. He works extremely hard and does a great job on camera. I can see myself watching more episodes of Mark repairing, fabricating, and more. Keep it up!🫡
3:18 learned something new after all these years, had no idea a 75W-90 gear oil was roughly the same viscosity as 10W-40 engine oil. Awesome refresh, that was a lot of wrenching time condensed in 16 minutes.
10:40 the music choice together with Marc's dedication gives so good vibes! Great video guys!❤
Thanks for putting my canvas in like half the video, it made me so happy to see it proudly displayed on camera. You guys rock! Was an awesome experience meeting you guys at Limerock!
Mark really is doing a great job and is a valuable addition to the channel. Great job!
Mark is a great presenter! He better get a raise! 🤣 Love the videos every weekend!!
I love your videos and so glad I got to meet y’all this past Wednesday Ben and Ben are amazing people and were so welcoming when I met them
I’m loving these new vibes coming from this channel 👍
Sounds Nice and it looks like a Fun to Drive
Thanks Mark, for saving the Beat! Great video!
Mark is the best!!! Love seeing him work! inspiring stuff!!
I like Mark. I could watch more of him. Hope he sticks around!
The video feels like a 17min Valvoline ad
Informative, chill, and entertaining. Well done, sirs!
I gotta say at first I was a bit unsure of mark. But with any long term channel a new face is different. Gotta say this video sold me on mark! Good job man. You did great in a solo video and really enjoyed the content!
Mark has a good vibe, love the build
Yesssss my favorite series from G&G. Please more Beat videos
I was hoping a big block beat could be built with an Insight engine, but I'm glad to see it sticking with an ITB fed 3 cyl!
Something about watching your videos on weekends of relaxing
Great video and love that car!!
Loved the 80s tunes in this vidja
Love this build, very chill video 😎
Great video mark.
Great episode!
Love these build videos.
Loved the custom valve cover paint job!
Marks voice is so soothing it makes me want him to make some books on tape talking about how to retime a Honda beat
I would love a series of G&G’s real faves: Mark and Luke! Let them build a track Fit!
Saw mark on driving line's driver battle, that was awesome! Keep up the hard work mark!
Something I've learned about synthetic oil after making an old engine run again.... flush that oil at 2000mi or earlier the first time... it will flush a ton of garbage out, especially if the engine had a lot of varnish or carbon in the rings and stuff.
Looking forward to the SICK BEAT you guys are gonna drop with the new motor!
(Been holding that in too long. I have no regrets 😁)
Ben Lin, Ben Thorne, Ben Mark
Love the Mark-builds-things content
You had me in the first half, I was getting my “K Sawps and Gasoline” jokes ready…
Best channel we got kids
This was very nice to watch. Both due to the project and the presenter.
Real mecanic with no glove 🤘🏻
16:22, Ben walks in with a sweater that says "Norway and Bergen". What?! How?! When?! This made my day! Join the "Gatebil" festival in Norway in the future! Sending love from Bergen, Norway!🤩
Yes, more Beat content. My day is now better
great work!
Oh this sounds like a hoot!!
I love to see Mark more on camera!
Even slow cars can be fun. It's all about the smiles per gallon. 😎
Good to See a Mark Episode. He fits in well with the Ben’s. Make a great trio !
look at that cute little clutch!
So glad y'all went the route you did with this car! I've also been wondering what happened to the beat. Off season content = non-gridlife follow up?
An enjoyable 17 minute-long Valvoline commercial. 👍
This is so therapeutic, watching this in my bed, sipping coffee late sat morning, I absolutely love your channel (-_-)
Literally screaming. Hells yea
Honda valvetrains tend to be clackity when cold. But it’s also easy to miss the clearance on a valve even after thinking you double checked everything. I’ve definitely done it a time or three. But also the rocker arms are supposed to be loose like that, due to the cold valve lash clearance.
always love a good transmission build montage
also, if that k series isnt going into the beat, then where is it going???
Great video
Just can't beat that
Super cool I wish you guys used a d12 or b16 motor. But it’s dope your doing this at all
As with most period Hondas, distributor bearings are a major failure point on the E07A, so you should probably check it. It's not too hard to change. The E07Z variant was available with both a turbo and COP ignition. I always thought it'd be fun to swap one in with a MS (particularly because ECU failure is also a period Honda failure point), especially if I could keep the ITB setup as well.
Please create an episode of the MR2 being fixed. I am curious to know the cause of the loss in power.
Hell yeah! Mark episode
What about a D series swap? Parts would be extremely common
D series is still quite large. It can be done, but still requires a lot of work
@@GearsandGasoline I’ve always wanted to see somebody Renesis/NA13B swap one. I’d imagine fitting it in wouldn’t be so hard but the fabrication it get it to work would probably be pretty high
"Don't take off your exhaust wrap. Highly recommend NOT doing this."
Takes his off and doesn't replace it.
Refuses to elaborate.
Leaves.
He highly doesn't recommend wrapping the exhaust manifold, that's what he said.
I’m curious if a d16z6 would fit in a beat, single jingle would be wild in something like that
Mark is officially better than the other guys on this channel. I can’t remember their names anymore.
Anyone remember when @Fasterproms squeezed a K series into a Smart Car? “Kater-tot”They wound up modifying and swapping not only the entire engine and transaxle, but the entire subframe also. Soooo… Mark, there’s always that option 😂
Been waiting for new vidss
Mark went from clean shave at the start of the build to a beard at the end😂 Always good to see mark on a G&G vid🤝
Loving the content as usual. I kinda miss the evo though. Any chance on an update soon?
My god I'm getting old.
Cool mechanic tips result in legitimate excitement 😂
Love me some mark action!
Hoping to see long roadbtrips again with those small cars.
Watching from Philippines. Your vids are always fun to watch
Mark is awesome on the camera
This K series Honda beat looks amazing its basically a mini mid engine transaxle S2000
shoulda put a veyron engine in there
i’m disappointed in you
I love you, Mark.
I think us doesn't have it but some 1.0 3 cylinder turbo would have been a great choice also
