For all the main channel comments. I actually get better response to things like this on the second channel. I will put this on the main channel in a different way. I obviously consider these types of things but thank you for all the reminders 😂
Can't hurt to have it on both right?
Do we individually email them? I don't email much lol
I wish I could oppose but I live in the United Kingdom I love watching all of your videos especially the ones from the freedom factory and it would be such a same if it had to close for any reason
I love what you do Cleetus much love from the uk
Give it a go, you have nothing to lose this time. This is about the livelihood of the race tracks. Not a merch drop or giveaway.
I did what i could and emailed the people in the description with all the needed info. I really hope they don’t get approval for this. We’ll get through this!
Clete, as a zoning official I’m here to help reach out and I’m on board. There are many things we can look at. Environmental impact being one.
Plus one for this! get this comment to the top people!!

I think thats gonna be a hard sell when representing non emissions compliant vehicles facilities. But all the power to you
While they are burning tires and running none emission compliant cars? Seriously this is embarassing.
@@XboxUnitD77 those facilities help keep racing off the streets. A lot of different angles.
Townfolk: "Stop racing on our streets! Go to a racetrack!"
Racetrack/car owners: "Ok. We will go and have fun at the track."
Also Townfolk: "The racetrack needs to be closed!!! Its too loud!!! I can't sleep!!"
Car owners: "Guess we'll go street racing again...'
Lmao too true
This right here
For Real.
Exactly
That's a good way of putting it.
If it goes to the state level and gets approved you HAVE to be sure that track is busy and loud EVERY DAY while those lots are being developed.
Be sure to make as much noise as possible especially during the time the developers are marketing those lots to prospective buyers.
Make your presence known loud and clear!
That, and tho I’m not sure of the laws there, but where I am, for the municipality disturbing the peace and what have you is based off of your sound level(db) in relation to the Ambient db level in said vicinity. Soooo, if you just go to a 247 race a thon, bump up that Ambient sound level, good to go. (Obviously you aren’t truly going to be able to change the ambient sound level, outside from literally running cars 247, this was meant to be more of a haha good idea lol.)
Yes
Hell Yeah, now I can build my music shop next to the library.
Discounted entry fees, I usually don't go out there but if he plans something I'll trailer my Z out to the drift track!
I hate to be like this, but at this point, that sounds like the only logical, rational thing to do. Constant racing and burnout competitions for the duration of the home sales. Get some jet engine powered stuff making runs as close to the homes as possible.
Power up the spotlight, signal WhistlinDiesel, let’s get this thing done. Go ahead and call on Matt from Demolition Ranch as well. Fuck it, alert every CZcamsr who’s ever enjoyed a good time at that track and have them all put the issue in front of the eyes of their followers. Maximize the exposure, make this about more than just the Freedom Factory, make a statement that is heard nation-wide. Got to do something to get In front of this issue so that we don’t just save the Freedom Factory only to have it happen to some other track somewhere else..
Totally agree couldn't say better
Hell yeah!!

We lost ALL of our tracks here in Phoenix because we didnt get the numbers together to stop this!!!! MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD!!!
RIP Speedworld and soon to be Wildhorse pass. 😪 PHX needs to come together and make something happen the car scene is quickly deteriorating and will only get worse once Wildhorse is closed. At this point only a matter of time before they start the state refs ect.
I just posted about dairy farms in Chandler being chased out of areas because of development - not surprised they did it with race tracks, too. No character in the cities and towns there anymore - just highways, malls, and row after row after row of stucco and tile roof cracker boxes. Ugh.
@@cornfedevoviii263 no way..... wildhorse is going?
@@tylermcguire2163 Unfortunately yes, this is Wildhorse last year... I believe they are making a resort and housing developments..
@@tylermcguire2163 Yes. It's been talked about for a couple years but this time it's in stone. I think they'll get in one more NHRA Spring Nationals in February and after that it's pretty much done. I've been told maybe by April and that's it. They've already tried some racing at the Show Low airport as a result. Most likely we'll see street racing incidents rise since the only dragstrip left in Arizona is Tucson Dragway. There is already talk of a couple investors looking for another place to put a dragstrip but I don't hold my breath.
We lost a racetrack that had been there for 50+years (Santa Maria speedway) to a newer housing development last year. I am 1000% on board with emailing my concerns and personal experience with this exact situation and how detrimental it was to the local area
We also lost our local dirt track ( river side speedway) that had been in the same spot since the 50s . One of the oldest tracks on the east coast. Was in upstate South Carolina .Multia Million dollars homes full of assholes in place . Also watch for money being exchanged for to get paperwork passed . They do it for the big bucks no matter legally or not !
Can't say I'm surprised, but that sucks. My neighbors raced there.
This is different because Cleetus has 3 millions followers that we know of for sure. A backlash from these people could ruin them.
As I did, everyone should share this on social media as well ! The extra support is appreciated and needed. All my hometown tracks disappeared because of this, let's try to help save this one!

I’m a manatee local, been here all 21 years, the track is the reason I stayed outta trouble as a teenager.

I live 10.6 miles away from Piedmont Dragway in Julian NC and we have been able to hear them run my whole life. Especially when they run the big dogs. Lived in the same place for 32 years. This is way too close to the drag strip for houses.
Cletus, I feel your pain. I had lived within 3-5 miles of Great Lakes dragway for a good part of 40 years. As I watch union grove, Wi grow I fear the same fate. I loved hearing the sound of the drag cars at night, and the thunder of the jet cars on holiday weekends.
The ironic part is, I had lived in Bradenton, Fl, for around 2 years. I had spent most of my weekends at your 2 tracks ( I was an engine builder at the time).
Good luck and god, speed!
Emailed as soon as I watched this video. We can make a difference in having our voice heard!
As a fellow Floridian and track enthusiast, you should reach out to LZ and have him mention this also in one of his videos and massive event this weekend.
Good idea. All the Florida crew can mention it on the channel. Boostedboys, Taylor Ray, jhdeisel. That should cover a couple million people.
Yes, everyone hes cool with should be brought on board. They could bring a crowd of a million people together.

LZ said he would do anything within his power to help in last night’s stream. That’s how I even knew something was going on.

We went through this with our local dirt bike track. It was open 30 years and then someone built a house right across the street and started complaining. After much court process, the compromise was to close down and reroute one of the corners so the exhaust pipes weren't pointing at the house while going up the hill.
When I was a kid, they did this to my local speedway. I was gutted! They shut down, bought some land in another spot not far away, it had newer facilities, but wasnt the same. Im not in America, but I have paid for one or two of your FF events and watched them get better. I wish you the best.
Need to get all the CZcamsrs that come to the tracks to post this on their channels and try to get as many to show up at the meeting. Make this blow up like the county has never seen!

That would do nothing. First whislindiesel has 15yr old boys showing up. Freedom factory does burnouts and boring weird races. Cleetus is absolutely going to lose and that sucks. Best choice is sell that land off for prime dollar and actually build your own on some land you own so they can't build around you. Besides that he's done already.
All the big youtubers who come to these tracks really need to make videos about this need to show up in force .... to help clettus ...

LAND OF THE FREE HOME OF THE BRAVE !!! Do NOT let them push you around !
Capitol Raceway, a 1/4 mile drag racing facility, had the same problem. Capitol Raceway is still located in Anne Arundel County MD. Developers also wanted to build homes next to the racetrack without any sound abatement. Their project was approved and just like you surmise, the new residents went to the county to get the racetrack closed. The county ultimately ruled that the new residents were aware that there was a racetrack there and that the racetrack had been in operation for decades before the homes were built, and could continue to operate at that location.
dont forget about 75/80 aswell, i live right down the road from capitol, its a real shame
just glad capitol is open again. pasadena man here, we gotta keep it alive. shame what happened with 75/80
This is what happened to Old Dominion Speedway. Houses crept in and then the track had to close...
That's what I was thinking, he might want to focus on forcing the developer to disclose the racetrack to potential buyers. Perhaps even requiring sound levels with the proposed sound abatement in place. Most buyers won't be shown homes during times that racing will be going on...and some buyers won't be familiar with the area. But developers aren't known for caring how happy the new homeowners will be, just that they buy the homes. 3 houses per acre is common, and terrible imo...too densely packed. But that's the way $ is made. 4500 homes represents a good chunk of property tax revenue, so officials tend to push for developers through with dollar signs in their eyes.
@@stopngosteve04 raced at the so called drag strip at old dominion last summer its open

I live about a mile from a small dirt race track. There is a mountain/hill that fills the space between the two uses; residential/entertainment. The hill is probably 300 feet tall. We hear the racing and I love it. Their berm will do NOTHING, nada, zip.
What's most ridiculous about this whole thing is that, as a resident of SW Florida, I know for a FACT that snowbirds will move there knowing the situation, and STILL make noise complaints. I fully support you Garrett, and I hope to be able to continue coming to your events with my family and friends
all new neighbours complain... i have like 6 neightbours 2 moved away (i have been living here 15years) and now i got noise complaints cops almost called, bro there 6 houses i have quads and my car with loud music in it. now they complain about the smell... bro there tractors driving around hole day... yet u complain to me about my quad... i gave up trying to be nice, to like respect there demands, to not use my quad befor 16h and shit im done i just do what i want i tried they kept complaining cause i fix my quad start stop start stop u know to see if its fixed she doesnt like it... i already test them on the road and not in my garden still complain, so now i dont care am done the mayor of the town likes us and know i never had trouble befor they moved it.. so am good there :) still sucks
and i have seen the same about race tracks in france... thing that are there for 50years had to shut down cause it got surrounded by houses... 50 years ago it was all alone...
so many karting tracked close, dirt bike track close cause noise, what u get people ride on the road now...
The solution is to do burnouts in the existing development / blast current residents with black diesel smoke to show they who is in control. Be sure to do that in the city building lot during the meeting too. ( No I'm not really saying to do that as a solution to the track issue, I'm saying be considerate and don''t do this stuff in other public places. )
Well im from canada.. when im older id move there. I actually use to go to bradigton almost every winter when i was a kid! Love that area.. sarasoda, anna marie island. Very nice. Anyways personally i wouldn't care if there was a race track if i was old. Id probably be there everyday actually. Lol. Id be nice to have a car and just roll it down the street and have a track right next door. Id be sick.
The solution is no more sales of property without Florida state citizenship.
As a fifth generation Floridian, I am sick and tired of yankees moving into my state and bringing they're garbage morals, politics, and lifestyles with them intent on changing Florida.
That's what geezers do; Move someplace and COMMENCE BITCHING!
When it comes down to it. The county, city, state doesn’t care about racetracks. 4500 homes equals a lot of tax dollars.
I wish you nothing but the best. I hope you can pull this off and make this win. It will be a huge win for the racing community 🇺🇸
That’s what is all about! Tax dollars, and votes. I despise it but its a lose lose if they get built
Try and get them to zone the commercial lots opposite the race track and i would think promoting the track as a safe alternative to racing on city streets putting public at risk is the angle to use. You are in for a tough fight because of the tax dollars those houses will bring in.
I wish you luck..
AMEN 🙏 🇺🇸🇺🇸 WE'VE LOST TO MANY LOCAL DIRT TRACKS AND SOME NASCAR TRACKS TOO. I LOVE GOING TO THE DIRT TRACKS BECAUSE IT'S FAMILY FRIENDLY, IT'S WHOLESOME FUN AND EXCITING DOESN'T EVEN COME CLOSE TO DESCRIBING THE WHOLE EVENT FROM START TO FINISH 🏁🏆🏁💞🤗💞🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
All they care about is money. Always has always will. We bitch about this while homeless vets are hungry and they actually did something to help USA. It's a shame we care so much about BS while drag queens read and sexualize our schools and mentally ill gender benders tell them they can be any sex they want. We have bigger issues than building homes. Let tge man keep his track. If they want to move do so but it's gonna be noisey.
Here's an idea if this gets approved: buy a house in that subdivision and create an HOA. Use the HOA (home owners association) to force compliance with track rules and if a resident complains, use their HOA agreement against them.
HOAs are created by the developer. You can’t just buy a house and make an HOA for everyone lol
This track is pretty significant to me and my family since my dad scored his last win and this track back when it was desoto speedway, let’s save this track!!
Texas World Speedway was shut down for an almost identical situation a few years back. The track was 6 miles from my house and could be heard every weekend (music to my ears). Homes were built years after it was built and of course the homeowners complained. Years of complaints finally led to the closure of a historic race track. Now it’s being torn down to build thousands of starter houses. I hope y’all can win this fight!
I still miss TWS :( and we lost royal purple
Same with north star drag strip as well. It’s a 18 wheeler trailer storage facility now. Sad to see
I actually looked at a model home there (we were looking at the same plan on the Northside of Bryan). It was a sad sight to see them ripping that place apart.
We didn't get that plan, but bought another on Bryan's Northside, howdy neighbor!
On another angle, these tracks help get the reckless stuff off the public roads and into a safe environment. If folks want to do a sick burnout, they should do so somewhere with safety gear, a fire crew, and EMS nearby, not on by blocking off a public intersection to do so.
Happened at Roy Hesketh race track in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. It was a very historic track where it hosted a MotoGP race. Later on, houses were built around the track, people started complaining about the noise and the track was ultimately shut down.
I totaled my Yamaha R6 at TWS back in 2002 when I was racing with CMRA
I used to own an outdoor shooting range and this is exactly how my range died. I was silent about the rezoning in my area and then the noise complaints started. Then they started to lie about bullets landing in yards. Then they hit me with some environmental stuff. I couldn’t keep up with the legal fees for it all and the Karens won. Best of luck and I’ll do whatever I can to help from a distance.
How symbolic...Freedom under attack by politicians.
It's not enough space at the court for All the people that will support the Track to continue the event's you have my VOTE SUPPORT
History is doomed to repeat itself unless people act and stand up. Like Garrett said, the tracks were moved because of homes and they want to do it again
Except there is no way or place to put the race tracks elsewhere. They won't allow any new tracks to be built in America.

Fight against this housing development with everything you've got!!
I live in Jacksonville and we used to have a small circle racetrack called Jax Raceways. I have so many good memories at that racetrack as a kid and unfortunately a greedy housing developer had it closed down even though the track had been there for decades!
Don't let these greedy land developers win, fight against this!
I suspect these developers are greasing the palms of the local officials…
@@FoolOfATuque There's a reason the mayors road gets paved first haha
Jax here as well..agreed!
Same thing happened to the drag strip near Jacksonville as well! Builder came in put housing development in and b4 long home owners started complaining!
Same thing happened here in St.Charles Missouri. Our local circle dirt track was shut down because of exactly what is happening to Cleet. They closed it down, filled it with dirt and built houses on top of it. My Grandpa raced there in the 60's and 70's before I was born.
Sadly, beating these developers is near impossible. Their profit margin is so high ( 3 houses an acre is damn good money) that tossing 100-500k to grease the wheels is nothing to them. Land development is a dirty game.

I used to live 5 miles from one with lots of trees between me and the track. It sounded like they were launching in my front yard. They don't understand how that kinda sound travels.
Lived about 2 miles from a track, both drag strip and stock car. We’ve been fortunate because it’s built up all over around it. The high school is on the same road, about 1/2 mile from the pit entrance. It’s still running strong and hasn’t been any talk of shutting it down. It’s been in business for 60 years now. I’m hoping Freedom Factory finds the same success.
I live in a small town and there's a dirt track not even really close to me and when they run dirt track racecars on them, when you step outside the house at night you can hear them from really far away. Luckily it's far enough away that when you go in the house you don't hear it. But I think cleetus is right. Putting that many homes right next to audibly loud businesses, they're going to have a hard time selling houses to people. A nurse isn't going to be buying those houses because they have erratic sleep schedules and can't have racecars blasting while they're sleeping. They really shouldn't be putting homes next to race tracks. A sound proof wall isn't going to work. If they build the houses right next to the track it's going to lower the value of the homes and people will struggle to move in. I think cleetus is right and he's not only looking up for his interest but the interests of future home buyers that will appreciate homes being built that aren't right on the border of a racetrack. Cleet doesn't want people's home quality of life going down by building homes in not the smartest spots. There's better spots to put homes where they'll thrive better. It would be smarter to build businesses in-between the track and homes than to cram more homes in. Because people aren't trying to sleep at work. Something like that. I agree with cleeter. I like cleetus and his racetrack but I wouldn't even buy a home right next door unless I planned on working at the track for a living in the long term 😂 where I live were a ways away from a dirt track somewhere out in the desert outside of town and it's still pretty loud and we're very far away. I think cleetus is right. It would be better to build anything but homes right on the edge of a racetrack. A series of warehouse's would be better. We shouldnt be building homes where people sleep right next to race tracks that already exist. I think the people focusing on this situation are smart and they recognize that there will be a noise issue which is why they approve of walls or banking to help deaden the sound, but I think cleetus knows his business and knows it won't be good enough and I think if we build those homes right there it's going to result in lower quality of home life for the owners thereof, and then they complain and the racetrack has to modify hours of operation causing high chance of failure of business which isn't worth it for such a successful racetrack that already existed there first. Maybe they can build half the homes farther south of the land and build warehousing or something in-between the track and the homes that already exist. Idk for sure what the solutions are but I agree with cleetus it's a problem to build homes right where we can already see it will cause problems. There's better things to build next to a racetrack than homes which I and I'm sure cleetus agrees is not optimal location for a home to provide the highest peace and tranquility for the future owners. Right on the other side of my neighborhood is a school football field and let me tell you, they use loud speakers and bang drums at nighttime and even in my well insulated house the noise is noticable, and that's a football field, not a racetrack. There is like a racetrack 5 Miles from me, a dirt track. You can he's them racing on it eventhough we're farther away than cleet will be to these new homes being proposed. These homes will be very close and I think cleetus is right. It's going to cause problems for everyone and it's avoidable.
That or we erect a massive wall 100 feet tall and thick, covered in sound deadening, hurricane rated, and paint an American flag on it and bounce all the sound waves the opposite direction of the neighborhood. Problem is that's expensive also and might not be good enough. Esspecially if these homes are built really close. Tough situation will be cool to see how it develops and if solutions can be found because Cletus is right. Textbook how racetracks die. You build homes next door and then the business can't operate. So youll have people moving into homes they have to complain about the noise, so the m the businesses have to close up shop. So people move in too close and busiensses die. And cleet is right it's too successful just to close shop. One of if not the most successful small track in the country
I very briefly lived about 10 miles from Houston Raceway Park, and every Friday night, you could hear the "street legal races" if you were outside and knew what to listen for. And, of course, you could hear the NHRA events easily. I don't remember hearing anyone complaining about the noise either. Although people had plenty of other loud events(like the chemical plants testing their emergency public broadcast system every day at the same time) that occur on a daily basis so perhaps everyone was just accustomed to it.
@@TheAnnoyingBoss they might be smart enough to realize there will be a noise issue, but not smart enough to realize that any barrier put in place isn’t going to help with the sound. Maybe they just don’t care as long as they can sell the idea that these barriers will deaden the sound.
It's so sad that the one thing I love to enjoy and participate in is constantly trampled on by our government. This country, as much as i love it, has been a great disappointment to me over the last 10 years. We're going downhill so fast. I wish the best for this situation and thanks to all of you who are able to go out there and show your support. All of us who can't make it are truly grateful for your efforts.
Pretty much the same all over buddy. Canada isn't any better. Seems like a local drag strip or dirt track is shutting down every day. Closest track to me is about a 3 hour drive. They were closed down this spring.
@@S550STANG Losing our Religion, our rights/freedoms, and motorsports.. We cannot stand for this and let this happen. Every day I drive past churches being closed, and 3 of my local tracks have gone under. It scares me the direction the west is going in. We will soon look like China.
@@S550STANG I agree. What makes it worse is the fact that we're in a new golden age of car engineering. There's so much out there to turn many platforms into something useful for various specific types of racing. The technology they're using from factory is extremely impressive too. I wish there was more we could do to stop these governments from eliminating our community and fun.
Greed, plain and simple. Profits over people is how our country works.
All of the racetracks out here in the Phoenix AZ area have been shut down (except for PIR but that's another story) ... then we scream about the amount of street racing that is going on.
That is crazy. Good luck my friend. I wish I was near florida and could stop by.
Same thing for airports, an airport that was built back in the 70s north of Montreal which back then was in the middle of a rural area. Fast forward to now, the entire area was built up and the noise complaints started flooding in. It closed a few years ago, A flight school and several shops were shut down, condos now sit where the runway once was.
RIP CSK3.
Call on every CZcamsr that you've included / invited to any of your events. Leverage the network! You ask so little of them, yet have given so much.
I'm from Wisconsin and have never been to Bradenton but am flying down for the Christmas tree race this year. What they don't realize is these tracks bring in people from all over, not just the locals. It might not bring in more revenue than the taxes on the new development, but it still helps the local economy. I will send them an email. Every bit helps!
Fellow Wisconsinite!
Same here where at in Wisconsin.?
@@MrPetervp14 Appleton!
WISCONSIN!!!!!! fond du lac here
Yooper here, but have been to Slinger and a lot of the other wisconsin short tracks!
Good job stating your case. I've never been there but if I lived closer I definitely would. Good luck!
Worth fighting for. America is worth fighting for. Ill support
I lived 3 miles from my hometown track in the middle of a densely populated metro area and could always hear the cars running every weekend new people moving into the area always want to complain until the locals give them the hint this is how we live. for the longest time it was the only thing we had to escape to on the weekends. But even now 15-20 years later you can see how the track is suffering from constantly having to fight for survival.. it’s heartbreaking 💔
As a kid i lived in Scottsdale Az and you could hear the funny cars and dragsters at Beeline many miles away during the races. You could also hear the B17 fire fighters take off from Falcon in Mesa, so I don't think any type of sound abatement would be very effective.
And the fight won't end, trust me..they just keep coming.
Got a wal-mart where our old track used to be. All these cities and board members see is money and hooking up the same contractors that are most likely friends or family. It's happening all over the country not just to race tracks. All in the name of development and betterment is what they say. Ruining small town America one sub division at a time
I love the sound of the speedway drags and racetracks would love to live there
@@bobloblaw1720 The war against race tracks never ends...
Friend owned a home near the East Manatee Rescue Station 3 off of Rye Rd. 10 miles away. I can recall standing in his back yard and could hear the drag strip. No way a sound barrier is working 80 yards away.
Wish you total success. From Canada!
Leaves you only one choice Cleeter. You gotta buy that land!
Wheres uncle Chet?
Exactly right 👍🏻
The money needed to do that… cleeter would have to sell EVERYTHING and still would be short…
He needs investors! Us
Naive. The reason tracks close is because the track and the land around it are always worth FAR too much money as commercial or residential development land vs a track. There's simply no way to return on the investment if you are going to stick something like this out or try to buy the surrounding land. In order to offset the cost of buying out a housing or commercial developer track use would have to be so massively expensive to break even that nobody would go, and the farmland obviously isn't turning anywhere near the profit as a farm as it will when it's sold to developers, or it wouldn't be happening in the first place.
Doing everything i can to support! You've worked too hard to loose the ff. The ff is one of the best things that's happened to Florida in my opinion and we must keep it alive!! Also it's not my call but I think you should put this on the main channel also to bring more awareness to what you, the crew and us fans are facing.
Totally apose, trying to get my Nova right to come there, was part of my vacation plans... Mucho love.... My county in Florida is ridiculous too
Happened in Huntsville, Alabama. Keep fighting. HELL YEAH BROTHER!!!
You sir, are fighting a GIANT uphill battle. I wish you the best of luck.
Email sent from California. Having seen the effects of this out here (see Laguna Seca, among others) I 100% back your effort to protect these historical places. The irony is they tell us to keep it off the streets and take it to the track - where will we go when there are no tracks left because of over-priced housing developments? Going back to the outlaw way sounds cool in theory but I would bet a lot of us would rather do what we enjoy in a safe environment.
ironically enough, I'd imagine the same people who will complain about the noise from a race track nearby would be much more upset about everyone street racing in their neighborhood
California here as well. Thankfully Laguna is still around, but with the strict noise cutoff times and DB limitations, events are so limited. I also moved from Utah where this exact same thing happened to Rocky Mountain Raceway. So frustrating!
You guys don't get it. This is about Tax revenue. Snakes and crickets don't pay property taxes. Home owners do. 4500 new houses? How much tax revenue is the local govt. going to get from them?
@@RUBIZEN contrary to your opinion I'm actually very well-aware that this is of major interest to the local government.
@@jakedaniels7546 Oh. You should have expressed that in your comment.
That place is going to be packed ! Everyone will show up

You are in the right and these developers need to be put in thier place... this happens to alot of businesses unfortunately...
i live in the UK and this is exactly what has happened here to 4 motorcycle tracks in the space of 10 years , people move in and complain about a track that has been there for the best part of 80 years then it gets restrictions and withers away till it closes,
i wish you all the best in fight against the development
👍
I come from the UK too, had to smile at 3 houses/acre, UK it is 8 min and often 18 per acre.
It's the thin end of the wedge and I hope Garrett prevails.
Yup. Also I bet the people moving in are aware of what they are moving next to…knowing that if the track gets closed they increase the value of their new property.
yep, RIP Shakey. proper grassroots drag strip in the UK and got closed because they built houses and people not in the know moved in.
I'm also from the UK I do banger racing we have lost so many great track like the one in Wimbledon got turned into a football ground and a ton of house/flats
That's not the only track to close there's loads
A developer has been trying this b.s with santa pod. Same old crap moaning about the noise. Same as the dosey mare who bought a house with a dual carriageway at the end of the garden then goes moaning about the noise to the council and papers. It's just as bad as developers building on flood plains then moaning to the gov when the entire estate is ruined
They are definitely going to pull, money talks!!
I lived by a quarry that had been the towns main employer for 50 years, they built 30 McMansions and sold them on weekends when it was inactive. lawsuits and environmental complaints followed and 4 years later the quarry gave up and closed. So no matter what they, say it will be the end of the racetrack!

Law school is paying off
He’s definitely going to need it but I have no doubt that he has some top lawyers on his side. There is some people behind. Cleet with a lot of money that will no doubt already be on top of it.
Did you hear cleet say in his speech he has equity in “them” I had a feeling a while back he has financial interest in the motor sport park back from when the track got redone and new bleaches put in.
What we all know is cleet will give this all he’s got
Hope all goes well for the freedom factory.
Don’t just hope. Act.
@@Nick210 Act all you want. You have zoning officials thinking a 25ft tall acoustic barrier is good enough. Too much money is at stake for the county BMP and the FF are going to get forced out at some point.
Best of luck! I am up in Canada, and I've seen tracks fight and get shut down due to this very thing. I have also seen tracks win. Best of luck sir, my the fight be in your favor!
Makes the value of the proposed housing development seem a pointless exercise.
Here in the UK many tracks are under threat from people who move into local villages.
You all know how old some of the tracks in the UK are.
Lucky for us, our courts are currently of the opinion that historical activities are more important than a few new locals that were miss sold a property by an estate agent.
Best of luck👍
It’s been happening for years and years with Dixie Speedway here in Woodstock,GA. The track has been here for 60 years, all the new homes were built around the area and have been complaining about the noise for decades now. Luckily the track is still going and will open again this year. Good Luck Cleet! If anyone can get this thing handled y’all can!
God bless Dixie speedway and their world famous corndogs
Its the same for rockford speedway in illinois i grew up there and its a shame knowing it probably wont last much longer

Our drag strip shut down in Salt Lake City!
You could hear it for miles. Construction is a real problem for these historic sites. I grew up watching tons of events and now it’s just gone.
This was the next door neighbor to Godfrey trucking whos backyard helped bring the world Nitro Circus.
We do have a sports park in the next county over but no drag strip or oval. It’s just not the same as “Rocky Mountain Raceway” People will regret it but they won’t know until it’s gone and too late.

Felt this one in my soul. I live in Texas and I'm watching all the farmland around me turn into suburbs, filling in the wide open spaces with McMansions...
Not much about what I loved about it here is left, all destroyed by invaders.
As a fellow Texan. I agree
Invited by the money from selling the land by the natives unfortunately...
As a Texan I also agree sucks the the farmland around me is all disappearing and houses are being built

From California, never been to the track but know quality people who have backed you. All on board, written and emailed
This is heart wrenching… our local track here in Kansas City was shut down due to a high value landowner building a house on former agricultural land. After many complaints, she forced the hand of the city to shut the track down. Now all that remains is a depressing field with a poorly maintained gravel path through it. I hope we don’t have America’s best track close to something similar.
KCIR was awesome, I miss it all the time. The abatement never works and why should it.
I don’t think this could ever happen since more people will be in support of the track than for the houses
RIP KCIR
yep 100 percent.. spent alot of time there.
its not heart wrenching... its an opportunity.

He really has brought the scene back and it was tanking hard before him and his team and all the channels related brought each other up. One day I wont be so far outside them.
WEF is calling for the end of private ownership of cars all together FORGET RACING
I think Florida over most places in the US is one place that will actually take into consideration what is being done here and how it will effect things. Most other states will take a big fat donation and say go ahead and build. Shit Garrett should go all the was to get in contact with governor DeSantis about it. I think he’d be more than willing to even come out and personally look at whats going on. His best bet is being in Florida.
Be the louder voice, complain till it makes you sick
