Reminds me of the press conference in Soham, here in England, in the summer of 2002. School Caretaker Ian Huntley set out the chairs and stood leaning against the wall, staring at the officers, throughout. He was the murderer.

I think they know exactly who it is but don't have enough information to convict him. I think others are covering for him, and that he is known to either the families, community, or both. I think that the two sketches look very similar if you pay attention to the eyes, mouth and nose, rather than the jawline and hair. In the video it looks like he is wearing baggy clothing and is concealing objects under his jacket, and that he was dressed to conceal his appearance.
I thought I was the only one who could see the similarities between the two sketches. They have most of the same features. They’re just drawn from different perspectives.
Amy Ashley Police are now saying this sketch is an entirely different person. I think they have came to the conclusion that they were being mislead. For some reason they dismissed the previous witness and are going with this witnesses sketch. They had this exact sketch 3 days after the murder, they’re just now releasing it though.
They have so much evidence seriously people find killers when there isn’t even a body and in this case there’s 2 bodies, video and audio! It doesn’t make sense what’s taking so long

Dawg, someone would have turned him in by now. He obviously is a loner with no friends and family that is likely all deceased. He maybe grew up in Delphi but doesn't live there anymore. He went back there one day and walked the bridge he has walked 100 times before but this one time he crossed paths with 2 teenage girls and molested and killed them

They seemed desperate and frustrated to me. This presser was more of a plea from the police to the killer to turn himself in, that's how I saw it. I don't think they are close to making an arrest and unfortunately this man will kill again

RA is 5 foot 4 and you certainly can't see his face clearly even if you use image processing and blow up the picture on a 65 inch 2160 p TV. I can't tell if it would be RA or not much less since they don't have any DNA, a murder weapon, clothing, devices with information on them and he was a driving a red Ford Focus which was not seen anywhere at the trailhead or parked anywhere around there much less at the old CPS office etc. These morons are talking out of their asses. Not to mention witnesses saw white colored vehicles etc.

Maybe they know exactly who it is but they need to appeal to gather more evidence. You can’t arrest a person based on a sketch from an eyewitness, you can’t even do that with DNA (you can arrest but you can’t hold them for more than a day or two). There has to be evidence from every angle. Eyewitnesses and DNA and computer evidence and more, etc, etc. It has to be rock solid or the jury can find the person not guilty on reasonable doubt. I tjink they have a very good idea who did this or have it narrowed down to a couple people at least, but they need to have irrefutable evidence so the guilty person can’t use any excuse to introduce guilt to the jury.
If they have DNA evidence, they’ll have the killer pinned down shortly. He speaks as though he knows who it is.
DNA only helps if this person has committed a crime b4. A citizen like you(if you havent committed a crime) or me wont have DNA on FBIs record

Here's hoping the suspect doesn't off himself before they detain him. This conference was pretty damning. "From Delphi, may be in this very room. We likely have interviewed you." My god, something awful must've been on that video recording for them to be this shaken. These cops have restored a bit of my faith in the police force. Thank you for being good humans.

I'm sure he's a very nice man, but he looks completely lost and like he is cracking under the intense pressure. All that stuff about - we may have interviewed him, may be in this room - is just basic police A1 to try to get into the perp's head, you can't take it so literally. A totally different sketch 2 years later, and age range as big as 18-40? They have no idea who it is.

I think the SON of the killer was in the room. Rumor has it that the 2nd sketch looked exactly like the killers son. They said that the person in the 2nd sketch was RESPONSIBLE for the murder of the 2 girls. Meaning he may have gone to school with Abby and Libby's sister and for whatever reason had a beef with them.

3 years later we find out he was the towns pharmacy tech who helped print flyers and photos of the funeral checked himself into a mental place for 30 days after the killings. This case deserves the dp if there is dp case like no other.
The FBI profile is coming out in this conference. They told them what to say to put pressure on them. It’s a year later and still nothing.

Apparently alot of them live together or keep in touch VERY often. A WIDE pool of suspects. Libbys mother gave up custody she was such a drug addict and loser. SO MANY criminals with felonies in this family of drug abusers.

If that is true, he would have known that it recorded his voice (and possibly other identifying features) and didn’t take it with him to avoid being caught. Based on the fact that the phone was found with the girls, I don’t think he knew she was recording.

If it were a family member, the girls would probably not have taken the picture and would have said there name on the audio at some point. Believe it is someone with authority, law enforcement. I think that is why the lead detective sounds so shook up. He says he's never experienced anything like this.
Good comment, or girls couldn't quite recognize him because he was partially covered and didn't know him that well, didn't know his name. Also may not be a law enforcement but it could very well be they are shocked because he's from Delphi and they know him!

Yeah. I think this new suspect, James Brian Chadwell, looks like a combination of both sketches, as well as the bridge guy. ISP was spot on in saying he may look younger than he actually is, if he is in fact their guy.

Both images are of persons of interest in the investigation." The operative word being "persons," not "person."

This is so confusing lol. I keep coming across different comments naming "XYZ" as displaying suspicious behaviour conveniently after the double murder of the girls happened.. This is the first time I'm seeing the person you've mentioned though. If you don't mind me asking you.. who is he and where does he seem to fit into this equation, according to whatever information that supports your theory?
(I say "your" theory because I have absolutely no idea where it originated from or if there's anything that could help support why he seems like a reasonable suspect.. lol I appreciate whatever information/guidance/links/pics/basically whatever you're willing to share, with me as I'm only interested in seeking knowledge and not going on some witch-hunt to condemn someone possibly not even involved. Lol you never know the motivation behind someone asking questions like these so hopefully knowing my intentions makes a difference.

Perhaps the reference that we know you have told someone or they know what you did relates in that this person is close to him, has talked to police, and knows personal things that might move him to come forward because it would seem they know but don't have enough physical evidence yet to secure a conviction. With a huge outdoor crime scene frequented by a good number of people touch or discarded DNA and fingerprints would be hard to prove connection beyond a reasonable doubt so they bait and wait. I trust they know exactly what they are doing.
I believe they know who this creep is. Just making sure they have a an iron clad case.
DP is Bridge Guy. He is one of the witnesses who contributed to the first sketch. He threw LE off for two years, but now they've changed direction. They know it's him. He looks exactly like the second sketch.

This story still haunts me to this day. I don't mean to seem morbid when I ask if they ever released the manner the girls were killed or if they were sexually assaulted? It bothers me that the killer murdered both girls-that one of the girls had to witness the other being killed before she was also murdered. What was going on that the killer had power over both of them and the girls would have tried to save each other? They were old enough to have sense of mind that they were in trouble from the start. This scenario haunts me to think about.

I read somewhere that in the video the front camera was on and the girls face was on it when the man approached them. The officer said her face when she realised what was happening will never leave his mind.
I feel so sorry for the people and the police who found them.

'We ask that the media give the family at least 2 weeks, because they just got this information this morning'. What information is he talking about? One extra word, a new sketch that doesn't match the previous sketch at all, or the 2 steps we see the BG take? This is why the media shouldn't make inquiries for at least 2 weeks? I'm sorry, like so many other things, this makes absolutely no sense to me. This isn't catastrophic news that might take awhile to absorb, it's really nothing in my book. Do they really think one extra word is meaningful? He said to watch carefully the BG's stride and the way he walks. Later he said that he won't be walking as he normally would due to the condition of the RR ties. Isn't the first statement nonsensical based upon the 2nd statement? The way this is going, the way it's been handled, everything about it is off center by a lot. It just doesn't feel right.
He also said today is just the beginning. I would be embarrassed to say that, what does he mean 'the beginning'? Because you're releasing one extra word and showing us the sketch of a completely different person? When did they decide that the BG was as young as 18 possibly? They have to be kidding. The BG we've been shown isn't anywhere near 18, and frankly taking 2 years to come up with that is really hard to believe. If the BG isn't past 30 I will be surprised. If he's as young as 18 then why tell us he may have worked in this community at one time? What work could he have done 'at one time', maybe delivering newspapers? Does anyone think the BG is even close to 18? When did they receive information that resulted in the sketch of a completely different looking man? @@SC....... I really don't want to be so negative, but this situation exceeds all others for ineptitude by a wide margin. I agree that the Chief appears to be harmless and decent. I would like to know however, what the entrance exam consisted of back when he snuck through the gate. He comes across like Gomer Pyle, Barney Fife and cousin Goober blended into one ongoing project. I'm not yet convinced that he's not putting us on, he seems like a guy that's overplaying naivete'. If he's being honest, we have to accept him as is. The case needs to be solved, that's the issue but it isn't moving forward not even at sloth speed.

This cop is awesome. More cops need to keep it real and show us that they are human beings not robots. You can tell this guy feels part broken heart and part blind rage. He wants to solve this case soooo badly but he is smart enough to know the damage is already done permanently and nobody involved will ever be free of this horrible event.

Do you know he actually called the search for abby and libby off the night they went missing and the bloodhounds off to wait and see if they'd show up on their own when the family had begged them to continue the search and assured them they wouldnt have ran away in the woods to just sit in the dark all night. That makes me furious an 8th grader should be hunted down immediately. Especially if its 2 of them not answering their phones either and with no prior behavior of running away. This sheriff is the WORST. We've been patient 5 years now and they are just now checking to see if any know child predators had interacted with libby on instagram. Just now! Please bring justice to this person and some sense of closure to this State. I have only been in Indiana once as a kid for a soccer tournament as part of the Indianapolis/Scarborough Peace Games. I have never felt such a sense of community like I did there. There wasn’t a minute where I wasn’t looked out for and looked after during the week I was there.
There should be a rule that if the investigation has stalled after two years, the police should release the case file and let the public assist. Keeping so much evidence to themselves has gotten them nowhere.
That could blow the entire case in certain situations. I think they know exactly who it is, but they have to get their alibi to cooperate. I live here, so maybe I see it different.

For the record, LE didn't mess anything up.
Their primary suspect was excluded based on information that had only recently come to light. So they had to start back at square one. According to other LE experts, this kind of thing happens in many cases.
They know who it is now. Based on the very recent info that was _made available in error_ 😉 I suspect that an arrest is imminent. 🤞They're just dotting their ies and crossing their tees.
Sooner [when arrest(s) are made], or later [after successful prosecution of the suspect(s)], Superintendent Carter will tell us the hows and whys. You can tell he's champing at the bit to explain already.

I've taken the video apart fairly thoroughly. The man is armed quite heavily with at least 1 semiautomatic pistol and what appear to be a couple of fairly heavy batons. This would likely account for the mannerisms of his walking on the bridge the way he is. He's also looking around at the scenery as if scouting for something or someone and doesn't appear to be stalking the girls or paying them much attention.
He does have his right hand wrapped around the pistol, probably to secure it. Nothing worse than dropping your weapon while traversing a 50' high off the ground railroad bridge if you are expecting trouble at the far end. It also looks like he might have a couple of boxes of ammo in his right jacket pocket and his left hand on another weapon in his left pocket, possibly a revolver.
He's wearing the cap with the bill turned slightly right, probably to shade the bright sunlight from his eyes. He doesn't appear to be trying to catch up with Libby and Abby, who are about 60' or more in front of him and standing on a NE platform using the selfie camera on an iPhone to shoot the video. He's taking one L-R step in about 1.6 seconds covering one tie width, or about 9.5 or 10 inches.
He's wearing no glasses, appears to have dark hair around 1" long in back, and a watch (not digital) on his right wrist.
But then, you guys knew this. Let me know if you'd like some help on some other things. It's an unusually tough case and I might have some observational experience that could be beneficial. Forensics, that kind of thing.
Man the way he’s looking to the right side. He’s giving somebody in that room the death look and the way he says” you could be in this room” the reaction from the cop beside him was like “whaaaat… did you literally just say that with buddy in here”
INSANE! Apparently the press conference was right across from where Richard Allen lives (it was at the Methodist church)… so I guaranteed he was there literally watching Doug talk and look at him lol crazy
I think they have some idea who the killer is, but need more. I'm hopeful that the community of Delphi know who this individual is and will help bring justice for Abby and Libby.
They need public confirmation that will stand in trial. They are watching the guy closely now.

Pommie bears ,the cops just revealed to the public about a car being seen parked in an old abandoned Child Protective Service building. The building has since been demolished. This was two years ago. I can't F ing believe the cops are now saying suspect lives in Delphi ( or did). Delphi is a small town in the middle of nowhere . Middle of cornfields. The killer wasn't just psychopath that just happened to cross paths with two innocent pre teens! Were the girls bodies covered or partially buried? If so , the killer knew those girls

The way the person said “guys” really reminds me of a police officer. I’ve heard officers say “guys” that way when they’re trying to control more than one person, like at a crowded event or something. For example, “you’re gonna have to move back, guys. This area is for event staff only” etc. It really sounds like an officer of the law! Of course that’s not proof of anything, but the thought is terrifying. Hope they catch him :\
I agree! Especially with the police mentioning the crime being about “power”. Apparently the trails were crowded the day the girls were murdered so how did no one see anything? He probably used his position of authority to control the girls and get them to calmly go with him. It’s a horrific thing that happened.

I think it might be a father and son who did this so they put the new sketch of the son and think the father will confess to protect his son because the recording sounded like it was an old guy it doesn’t match the sketch

If so they are sitting to his left, and whoever is sitting in that area with them is who they suspect, he tries looking over that way a number of times and diverts his eyes down again and again so to keep his composure.....his comments in the first min I believe are directly towards whoever it is......is he saying that he will not forget how you surrounded this family when it happened, offering support, and at the same knowing what you did.....there seems to be so many crumbs dropped in this press conference, yet still no arrest!

Also, ask yourself, since Richard Allen was hiking and also said he was using his phone while hiking, his phone would be on the geo-fence report. Simple logic... The sheriff didn't need a tip for Richard Allen. He was on the phone report from day one.

When all is said and done, the new audio and video add virtually nothing that the public can work from. "Down the hill" is now "Guys, down the hill." If no one recognized his voice before, the additional one word ain't gonna help. Also, two freeze frames from a video have now been extended to show the Bridge Guy take two steps, which is also useless, given that the man's gait will not be his natural one anyway because he had to step across gaps in the railroad ties. I think the cops are bluffing, hoping to scare someone into confessing.

Okay, perhaps I've officially gone too far down the rabbit hole with this case, but did anyone else notice that little message slipped in for a millisecond in several spots: at right about 4:51 ("what will those closest to you think of"), 5:54 ("eternity"), and 7:08 ("so many questions"). After like 20 tries, I was finally able to screenshot it and read it, and it just looks like some kind of AV error message. It says the following: "*** CRITICAL MEDIA SYSTEM INFO *** NO VALID INPUT DETECTED Expecting: HD 1080i 50.94." But...like...what if it's not? What if it was slipped in intentionally as some kinf of subliminal message to the killer??? I feel like I'm going crazy following this case and trying to read between the lines to understand what's really going on. 😬
