I agree with Bill. I stayed at home with my kid until she started middle school. It cracks me up when people call motherhood the hardest job. No, not the hardest. It's a rewarding one and has it's own difficulty. But, compared to Alaskan fishing....nope.

This man is too funny. I'm at work & people are looking at me like I'm nuts, just laughing my ass of every 15 seconds.
I used to work on a chemical plant as a hydraulic and mechanical engineer. They made polyacrylamide, which is a powder that is added to water that removes any of the impurities from the water, it's used in sewage systems all over the world. But, once the powder is in contact with even a tiny bit of moisture it instantly turns into the most slippery goo known to man! So, when I had to go into the citric acid tanks fully hazmat suited up, with breathing apparatus on at 40°C+ inside a giant metal container that only got hotter with added humans, and the moment you open the door and air gets in everything that can, turns into the ultra slippery goo and you're looking for something that's malfunctioning to fix but you can't see because of the powder, you can't breathe (even with the apparatus on) because of the citric acid particles and you can't walk because of the goo... Once you find the pipework that needed fixing, by this time you already want to be back outside, the nuts and bolts have accumulated the goo, so you can't even release the nuts without your hands slipping off and punching a steel object opposite! Plus you have to do the job as fast as possible because it costs the company £100,000 every 30 minutes the line in down.. The pressure, the heat, the lack of oxygen, the slipperiness... I would much rather be at home with the kids than in those giant death containers any day! Bill Burr is 100% right! Hahaha

The “rescue” In rescuing a dog from the pound is that you’re preventing a death. That dog that you “rescued” would have been put down at some point and instead of that happening you adopted it, which isn’t free btw.
