hi there i am just at this job now but as the parts were going to be renewed i cheat .
first i flipped the frame upside down and mig weld a small bit of flat bar across the inside of the bearing seat , that gives you something to drift against and the heat from welding seems to help , i also do this with trashed roller bearings that have fallen to bits to remove the outer shell .. :)

    Merry Christmas Rob & Seb
Been through the fork bearing race and it was a right pig, bought two sets of bearings as I fit them in loose, better feedback I think. I did laugh at the where has my tools gone moment as I do that quite on a regular basis. I’ve also started planning my euro trip too coincide with the Norway Rally so I’ll be needing a few more details soon 😉

Haha, spend more time looking for tools than using them 😀 here is the link to the rally. I think you have to use Google translate or just ask me. www.roughnecks.no/ my email is www dot lambretta at online dot no. 😎

Rob, would love to see the Vape ignition installed. Bought the same a few months ago for a planned engine rebuild and had a quick look at the instructions. Though the kit is for a Lambretta the instructions show a Vespa and the instructions on line are exactly the same as the printed one in the box. Theres only one other vid I can find showing the Vape installation but importantly it doesn't show the wiring up. Have a great Xmas and looking forward to seeing more Kickback Garage in 2020.

I'm doing a complete restore dry fitting everything to the point its tuned, tweeked, and rideable then taking everything apart for painting and powdercoating. Are the bottom and top new races ok to be removed again and reinstalled after powdercoating or am I going to have to get another set?

It depends on how they look. My take on the matter is that its quite a big job to have to take them out again in a year's time. I fit new ones for piece of mind.

I have a spring bar at work that would do a good job of it but luckily not a job I do that often these days. These have sat on the scoot since 1960 and painted in which didnt help matters much. Proberbly the hardest ones to remove iv`e done. The series one was a doddle!
